OK CPU - benchmark is just below 3000. Good value with SSD. Not FHD if this matters. FREE P&P if you go for 5day postage option.
Recommendation: Chances are the Windows10 build on this will be old; so best to get the Creator's Update on it ASAP (will save time in the long run); download the ISO from the usual place. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
For the curious, the CPU is: AMD A6-7310 2GHz - spannerzone

You call it a "good CPU" in the title then an "ok CPU" in the description, but still dont mention which CPU it actually is, any reason for that since it IS rather important information?

Single and dual core performance of a Core 2 Duo of ~1.6GHz from 9 years ago.
That's really going to struggle with software that can't benefit from more than 2 cores.

Any advice for those that are interested in this laptop but don't want Windows 10? I'd rather stay on 7. Thx.

I'd genuinely recommend embracing the change, 7 has been out of mainstream support for over 2 years now. Extended support ends Jan 2020, unless you intend to replace your machine or reinstall your OS between now and then. It would be better to bite the bullet and get acquainted with it. For general use it really won't change your life that much.

Should be OK with an SSD. Shouldn't it? Updated title to read "ok CPU" rather than "good CPU" .

Windows Creator has given me nothing but trouble. Make sure you can roll back without having to reinstall software < which was the only option I had

Not great but it must have better HD video playback optimisation? so it would at least cope with HD videos and such like whereas older Core2duo's do struggle these days, even with an SSD to help them along

I lost my faith in AMD a while ago...until I bought a laptop with an FX-7500 (slightly faster and more power efficient cpu) - it's surprisingly good. This one , with an ssd drive will be fine for most of the home office tasks, you shouldn't worry too much unless you need it for games.

Nothing wrong with windows 10 and increasingly there are weaknesses that only apply to windows 7 and prior systems that windows 10 are already immune against. Be worth making the leap, I leapt right at the start and it's worked well, only thing I would say is if possible do a clean install rather than the upgrade, I originally did upgrades on two machines and the os eventually corrupted. Then did clean installs and it's all perfect!!!

Ditto, I doubt we'd get much luck trying it from eBuyer though.
But on the whole this boots quick, is pretty slim to say it has a DVD in as well and took the Creator Update without issue.
Worth checking the warranty left on these things when you fire them up, mine had 10 months left because HP had already started the clock after delivering to eBuyer. You have to go through a web based system to get it changed.

Yeah, i cant really be bothered to anyway lol I paid £330 checking me receipt
How do you check the warranty left and then how do you go through web based system to get the full 12 months if it is less, please mate?
It tells you time left and gives you the dispute option. When the system is working that is. Do a PDF print of the eBuyer invoce to upload as evidence.
There is also the "HP Support" app for firmware and software updates that's pre-installed and has a section on it that can check the warranty and links you to the above to dispute.
