I have used a Multi tool for a similiar job so you shouldnt have any problems as long as you have the room to get at it, there are different types of blade which give a degree of versatility regards which way you can angle the blade to the item to be cut. As summerof76 stated Lidl do a pack of assorted blades for about £7 which should do the job https://www.offerscheck.co.uk/parkside-multi-purpose-tool-accessories-set/lidl/2014/kw-50/228065

It would, but it's in an awkward location (attached to the conservatory) where there isn't room to get a hacksaw to it. But there is room for a multi tool I think, it's just a question of whether it would cut through it? The other possibility would be a wire saw of some sort, e.g.
Would one of these be able to cut through some aluminium trim (2mm thick max)?

Would that be for a tiling trim if so it would with the right cutting blade. Keep an eye out for cheap cutting blades at Lidl, hope this helps.

Hi
Yes, I can confirm you can easily do that
Not sure about the blade that come with it though
I went to wickes and got a blade for 4.99 (expensive but i needed quick)
The blade cut through a 10mm bolt underneath a car

This would be absolutely fine for DiY projects - and at a fraction of the price of the better known names.
