Pic looks identical to the 'older' one I bought 18 months ago, so you're probably right

I did the same and bought a dremel, but if I can find another tip, I have a spare/one for the car or something

On the previous model they sold my tips quickly 'melted'. Dremel tips don't work.
Has anyone found 'compatible' tips?

Take one into maplin and get them to find you one that fits.. I've got an older workzone one and there's a few maplin tips that worked. Sure they'll be the same for this one

I use the vent from.the tip for heat shrinking.. or just get a cheap cigarette lighter for a quid.. probably better as it would cause less damage to the plastic cable sheathing.

If you still have the instructions there is a helpline number. Can't remember but don't think he asked for a receipt or number. Just told him I'd bought it in Aldi. Worth a call ?

Had one of these, an older model, since July last year. Tried to use it for the 3rd time last week and it wouldn't work. Rang the number in the instructions and a nice German man said he would send me a new one. It arrived 4 days later and is this model. Can't beat service like that. Keep the receipt and instructions :-) Worth noting that it also works as a mini blow torch, great for heat shrink sleeving and small solder fittings
