I have been on this exact holiday. Reps are an unneccessary pain but can also be useful guides, mourtemeno apartments are literally like prison cells but smaller, if you like to stay in your hotel don't go here.
That said one of the best and cheapest holidays I've ever been on, 10minute ramble to an incredible beach, Syvota and nearby Parga are beautiful, great food, very cheap and sweet friendly gracious people. Lots of feta salads simple honest tasty, rent a little motor boat and see the clearest water you will see anywhere in the world and find yourself a private white sandy pristine beach. Go to the olive oil factory in Parga, the oil they produce is amazing. Everything is on a small scale so not a daunting place to visit. If you feel adventurous rent a moped, no traffic and good roads, otherwise 20minute walk to the little seaside town where yachts are moored and there are small tourist shops, arcades and plenty of kebab, ice cream shops and restaurants. There are loads of shuttles and excursions available, go to the local excursion office on the way to town to get it cheaper than from the reps, locals are not rip off merchants and reps go to the same place. If you are a foodie you will find good food, if you are not fussed there is lots of choice. You can't really go wrong on this holiday it's just a traditional quiet breakaway, not challenging, mostly pretty peaceful, town open til late. Do it.

It would appear that there is more than 1 sivota. I believe this holiday is actually in Syvota which is on the mainland very close to Corfu not on the island of Lefkada

I think you're right, made even more confusing as it seems to be spelt two different ways too. This is from the Olympic website:
SivotaSet in an area of outstanding natural beauty, unspoilt Sivota is clad in cool green forests of pine, cypress and olive trees, with majestic mountains, green valleys and fringed with serene sandy coves.
DescriptionSivota remains one of the most unspoilt regions in the whole of Greece. Located on the mainland of Greece just 20 kilometres north of Parga and overlooking Corfu , holidays in Sivota are fabulous for anyone looking for a beautiful unspoilt holiday destination with most of its heritage still intact.

This might sound stupid, but as a single person could I purchase for 2 adults then just go myself?

I don't see any reason why not, you've paid for both. I mean who knew last minute that your 'friend' would be taken ill and couldn't go....

Always wonder this. sometimes stating 1 adult makes things more expensive but should try first. should be same or lower cost as its same room but one less flight.
Or find another singleton to go with. eh? eh??

It could be but offers change daily, hourly even. August is difficult with it being school holidays so everything is expensive. Last year there tended to be some last minute deals around £250-£300pp for a week. My friend got Rhodes for a week on Thomson HB, but this was me checking when I got up at 5 :innocent: 0am and ringing her up to book it as they tended to release some deals very early hours, you needed to check a lot. Who knows this year, depends on demand.

Is this cheap because its relatively last minute? Would be interested in something similar in August and don't mind last minute.
Opening post
The hotel is small and traditional but has good reviews http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g608863-d585083-Reviews-Mourtemeno_Hotel-Syvota_Thesprotia_Region_Epirus.html
