I gather the same. The immersion won't nearly be as good with a controller (much like playing a driving game with a controller instead of a wheel), but it will still work nonetheless.
Looking at stock levels right now though it's the only way to play the game :disappointed:

Oh, I wondered the same thing but the impression I were getting was that the game is significantly better with that controller. Also I could not find anywhere to say you can play it with a DS4 as you can with resident evil.

Can this be played without the aim controller?

Yes of course, why else would they sell it standalone? You can use a DS4.

I've got the game and controller and recommend you wait to play the game with the controller. Possibly the best experience I've had on the PSVR. At least the longer you wait the closer you will be to using the aim controller on another game. Recommend Titanfall2 in the interim - awesome campaign.

You really need the controller to get the best from the game. It's a drab shooter otherwise.
However, good luck finding the controller, sold out everywhere :disappointed:
