Seriously this game is EPIC. It's more like a space life simulator, old school game properly executed. The atmosphere that it builds in game in excellent especially the sound.
Lot of young players wont get it to be honest because of all the FPS games and the trailers to over "actionise" the gameplay buy you can do a lot of different things and swap between them and leave the game for months, come back and it still feels fresh and nice to be back in the seat again. Does take a lot of time to play but play it well and you get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

CQC, Powerplay, Multi-crew.... All half cocked and DOA.
The game is a grindfest, the whole engineers update was a joke as is grinding for that whole customisation.
It's a hollow game with very little story driven gameplay or interesting set of missions.
Cargo and space tourism is EXACTLY the same thing and both are full as dishwater. Exploring? Good luck with that.
There's like 2 trades you can do that will make enough to justify the time spent, utter imbalance.
5/10.

it's only £19.99 on the PSN store...is the extra content worth an extra £15?

Yes.

Yes, you absolutely want the extra content. It's no 5 mission DLC or some skins. It's a huge addition to the way the game is played.
This game really is superb.

If you want the ability to do half the designed missions and land on planets, you want the dlc haha

Played on the original spectrum back in the day. Got to Dangerous, could destroy anything but never got uprated to Elite. Hmmmmmm should I try again

Played on the BBC then the spectrum. The hours and hours I put into that game - guess I was around 13. Remember walking into the computer room at school and all you could hear was incoming laser fire, hyperspace and 'oh no, Thargoids!'. How can I not order this!

Don't bother with this game. Developers are utterly clueless, half cocked updates, broken features and an utter grind after the first 20 hours.

disappointed on Xbox. it's so complex makes it unplayable for me. perhaps I shouldn't compare it to the original though

does it have the original 8 bit elite as an easter egg, maybe?
It look alright, but the lack of diversity in the spaceships and the cockpit designs cannot compete with it's main rival: Star Citizen.
But seeing as though Star Citizen will not be coming to consoles, if space combat is your thang - then this is probably the best for console you can get.

Commodity trading, smuggling, exploration, planetary landings, assassination missions, scanning planets and stars. It's not chilled out as No Man's Sky..a lot more going on

Played this across PC and XB1 and totally love it. I'm convinced the PS versions will be very cool. Heat anytime for Elite
