I think ebay must be struggling. My experience of being an honest seller is that they always believe scam buyers so selling on there is a gamble. They can ruin your livelihood with a few naff buyers - and of course there are disreputable sellers too, but my experience is that ebay don't care about sellers which is ironic as they need them. They now levy greater charges too though Amazon is no better. I had hoped that Amazon would offer a competing auction site but they haven't - yet! eBay's ethics and service suck.

Good luck if you want something and can get a discount but I won't be rushing to buy on fleabay

I'm viewing on a desktop and it's under My eBay>summary>communication preferences>promotions & surveys.

Then tick and save this section : General email promotionsSend me emails about what's new and hot on eBay, great deals, special events, discount vouchers and other special offers.

I'm not signed up to their marketing emails so I was asking for where it was 'on ebay'.

Top tip: Make sure you're checking for this offer using your mobiles!

I've noticed when using eBay on my mobile / tablet, I can see a little promotional offer saying that I have a £15 off £30 spend promotional voucher, that I can use if I make the purchase on a mobile device.

Interestingly, this offer does not show up when I'm using my PC - it only displays on a mobile / tablet.

This may or may not work for you, but thought I'd mention it just in case there are more like me.

ETA: The promo message appears in a Vouchers box on the Watchlist page, above My Watchlist. Like another poster, the terms and conditions box is unhelpfully blank.

When viewing on a desktop log into Ebay and then click on My eBay at the top and if you have a voucher it says you have a voucher under the Nectar logo.

And I agree with others - ebay treat sellers with utter contempt. It's one of the biggest fraud jobs online but continues to get away with it without consequence. The government really does to look into this company, based in Luxembourg and paying nothing in...

There are laws in the press and media to not allow monopolies, nothing online. Simply because they are too big to take on hence the term!

For those that have stated they never receive codes, check your marketing settings on your eBay account. I never used to get any of the offers through but I'd opted out of all the marketing emails. Opting back in and now get them. Could be coincidental, but worth a check.

Nothing for me, again. Try logging out and logging back in then go to the my ebay page and hover your mouse over the my ebay icon at the top right of the screen - if you have a voucher it should appear at the bottom of the list.

Buyers. Not sellers. People know they can abuse the system and are ripping honest sellers off - right, left and centre.

Whilst I by no means have a business on eBay I have sold very very frequently over the years, hundreds possibly thousands of items.

I'd probably refer to it as scambay from a sellers perspective more than a buyers.

The whole seller must prove the item was received is ridiculous.

It used to be if the buyer wanted it sent a certain way they paid for it otherwise they took their chances. "Normally" Royal Mail isn't that bad, at least in my area.

Forum threads all over the place where buyers admit to claiming every third item hasn't been received when it has just so they get their money back (and keep the "lost" item).

Shill bidding. Had car amplifier and speakers on. Loads of watchers. Very high price pretty quick. Lots of watchers stopped watching as had gone beyond their limit. 12 hours before auction end the top 2 bidders pull out dropping it from £80 to £15.

Even if you don't get an email, the voucher may still get added to your account. Check on the My eBay page, near the bottom, per the screenshot posted by @skykid3.

Never got any of these only get £1 seller fees. Good for all that get one as its a good discount if you are buying.

Xflem, why call it scambay? I have a very small business on Ebay and I don't scam anyone. As I'm sure most others using it don't (both buyers and sellers). There will always be some who abuse it but vast majority of people are honest. As a business seller I have to comply to a long list of rules and regulations, there seems to be very little difference in the way its run nowdays than Amazon, or any other online retailer, it's certainly no longer an 'auction site', most people don't even run auctions on it anymore. Sales are dire over at Ebay at present and there is a general panic spreading through the Business community as more and more are reporting up to a 90% slump in sales since beginning of the year! Please use your vouchers, at the moment we need your business just to keep going.
