why does everyone feel they need 1080p? I had an S7 Edge that reduced it's screen definition when in battery saving mode and believe me it's not easy to discern the difference!

great deal, I've got the Doogee Y6 Max and I'm pleased with it, no doubt people will complain about the lack of updates but hey, its Nougat.... so even if you keep it a year and upgrade there's no great Loss and just look at that screen ratio!

Noone needs a 4K phone say, but 1080p is mandatory for this size. A 720p one just looks bad.

Hi guys, I lost my white Motorola Moto G 4G (gen 2 I think, bought it via £99 HUKD Tesco mobile deal back in 2014).
What is my best bet for an equivalent/better phone these days? I have noticed the current Moto G are far more pricey now, with Moto C and E now in the price bracket that the G was.
The old Moto X is on ebay for £99 which I am seriously considering, or the Moto G like I had is £58.99 refurbed, but is there anything better? Would one of these Chinese phones suit my needs?
I want snappy performance, a camera with auto focus, Expandable Memory, normal Micro USB, tough glass/gorilla glass, unlocked/easy to unlock so it can accept a Three 321 Pay As You Go sim. And preferably older versions of Android that will allow the running of old IGO GPS sat nav app (dled APK from torrents etc)? What is my best bet? Thanks in advance

Try the xiaomi redmi 4a around £80 or the slightly better spec'd redmi 4x around £95. I have just replaced my sister moto g 4g gen 2 with the 4a and I think for the price it can't be beat. Yes it comes from China so no warranty, possible customs charges, us basic free shipping to best avoid them, could take a couple of week to get here but both models above come in a band 20 global version so no compatibility issues with all UK networks

You only need to look in a mirror (and take your knuckles off the ground) to find the troll.
Sam of London has asked a perfectly legitimate question. A lot of Android-powered Chinese phones have the fota.sysoper and/or the adups.fota malware backdoor. It's not a guarantee of malware but it can be exploited by malware and pass personally-identifiable information on to others.
Suggesting that people should "get a life" when they have just cause for concern about spending their own money on potentially dodgy hardware is dangerous and utterly stupid advice to impart on to other people.

It's curious that you call people tools yet you apparently fail to acknowledge that not all products from Brand X are free of problems. I've had phones from LG in the past and one worked very well while the other was absolute rubbish.
How did you determine the phones you purchased are "fine"? Malware doesn't have to manifest itself openly to run and do its damage. The exploit isn't actually detected by Malwarebytes or other well-known malware detection and removal apps.

Where's your degree or qualification to make you worthy of declaring somebody mentally ill? Did you get your expertise on mental health from your armchair or behind your keyboard?
I'm curious how you deduce that a willingness to confront and call others out on less than bulletproof assertions is a mental illness.

FYI all versions of Windows from XP to 10, and mobile have a built-in back door to enable the US to hack or monitor you if the State or MS so desires.
At least Chinese phones can be scanned for viruses and removed, unlike Windows built-in ones!

got mine today. Don't know what the complaints about the screen resolution are about...it looks perfect to me.
Nothing untoward found after an Avira antivirus scan, just a bit of crap bloat ware; some cat thing hanging on a string on the desktop for changing themes, which I've managed to get rid of, and some crappy news reader which I expect I'll need to change launcher to remove.

received mine last night .. it was posted 26 June!! ..quick delivery. so far loving it
Quick performance yet to ANTUTU it though.
It doesn't have ANT+ capabilities which that Elephone S7 has , but no matter , I'll just have to use normal bluetooth to connect my sports peripherals
I actually also own that LG Stylus 5.5 and this Doogee is sizeably smaller as the bezels are minimal.
I think the backplate might be glass quite heavy, handset has some heft to it .feels solid.
Currently I'm using their simple plastic case that came in the package . Fear to drop the phone , it definitely wouldn't survive.
There's a PET film already installed on the display and also a spare in the box.
Ordering a couple of tempered overlays.
Does anyone know of a robust phone case with similar dimensions to this handset as the flip cases on offer on AE & BG look rather meh
