I don't know how you figure it's been reduced from £10. I buy this wine quite often from my local Tesco, and the full price is always £5.50.

Most of of Italy's wine comes from the southern Puglia (solento) region with grapes being sent to the North to bolster up some wines. A popular red grape in this region is Negramero, similar to pinot Noir Noir I find, very nice. Primitivio is a distant relation to Zinfandel.

I find Italy's Rioja Region to be very underrated.

I don't drink wine, I just buy it for my partner so I can't really comment as I'm not an expert.

No probs, just the way supermarkets play with prices.
Later post is good, should be a nice Rioja.
