Bought one of these yesterday for the kitchen, sounds OK so far but turned it up past about half way and the sound quality was pretty bad. Fine for me as I won't need it that loud.

Cheapest I can see this model on ebay for is £24.99.
There's another similar looking model that's a little cheaper. Are you sure you bought the same one?

I've got 2 of these (well, the previous incarnations - they change the design every now and then) and they are pretty good.
They are fiendishly difficult to use though, so keep the instructions handy. If you listen to the same station all the time, then it's easy, but searching, saving or just selecting another preselected station requires a little 'cheat sheet' that I prepared and leave underneath them. It's not intuitive at all.

How long do the batteries last? DAB never seem to last as normal radios! No mention of bluetooth

It depends upon the model. I have a Roberts Radio model which lasts at least a month with it being used about an hour a day. Experience gained from owning cheaper radios is that they tend to eat up battery power like there's no tomorrow.

That's right - as it doesn't have Bluetooth!

I have a DAB radio (a Robert Gemini, not this one) that has rechargeable batteries which last for 24 hours of on time playing radio. That works out to about week and a half with my listening habits - I then plug it in overnight and good to go again. It also works with a mains power supply.

For anyone local wanting a cheap radio, found this in Ventura Park (Tamworth) for £15 yesterday.
Excellent sound.
Not worth posting as a deal as only two left on shelf and full price (£40) on line.
Opening post
Was £49.99 allegedly
