BT Whole Home Wifi system (3x disc kit) at Robert Dyas currently for £179.99 using code STUDY10. Add code at basket (normal price £199.99 without).
Possible TCB too at 4.2%. I've used it but not confirmed yet.
Standard Delivery £3.95 or Free C&C from any Robert Dyas or Rymans store within 3-5 days.
Seems good to me when most other sites are pricing this at around £195 currently

Are the Ethernet ports on each disk input only then? I.e u can't plug a non wireless cabled device into them?

No they are output on the slave disks so you can connect them to devices that don't have WiFi

Wow, that's an expensive solution. I have done something similar, but with Time Capsule and Airport Express. I still have issues and wifi could be better. This setup does not give the mesh features of this BT system.
I have ordered one.

Yep I bought Apple AirPort Extreme to act as my router and using the bt home hub purely as the modem for that. Then used Apple time capsules as extenders/repeaters and now get a constant 62mb wirelessly everywhere in my house (63-65 when lan cabled into the modem itself) so happy days
Had tried everything prior to this, high speed power line adapters, different routers and makes and models, nothing was working as we live next to a 4g mast and the house has real walls not just stud walls.
Yes the Apple stuff is expensive but it works brilliantly

This is my very problem with this system. You shouldn't even need this system based on BT's claims about the new hub yet it didn't even cross my hallway! I won't give them anymore money so I've fixed it with an alternative route.
BT should be held accountable for their false advertising

Any chance of giving more details on your 'alternative route', please?

fyi this has Ethernet backhaul so if you have Ethernet plugs around your house plug these into them, works very well. Setup a few already.

Can anyone who has this tell me if the led lights on this can be disabled. Am interested as I get weak wifi signal in bedroom but don't want bright led's lighting up the bedroom at night

Yes, you can set it to high, low or off.
Love this - no more moaning from the family.

Purchased this from Dyas when they had 15% off. Great big of kit. Would highly recommend.

Depends on the devices you use .for cost openmesh is very easy to set up and monitor om2p-hs can be had for 60quid a piece so you could get 3 for this price . I have 3 in my farmhouse and they are fantastic far better than these . I realise this site is about price and it's a good price but there are better alternatives . Just saying .

Thank you both for the insightful info, I thought there had to be more to these, especially given the price.

I always thought the general consensus was that repeaters are terrible whereas using a secondary router as an access point is the better way to go. Are these things just glorified repeaters or is there more to them?
bakerman to David23

This is a mesh wifi network so different to repeaters and boosters. They actively manage the devices connected so pushing them to the AP with the strongest signal and throughout. Normal repeaters don't do this and it's up to the device to cling onto the signal for as long as it can before roaming to a different AP if available. hope that helps
Also for connection you plug 1 into router using cat5/6 and the others then use wifi to reach each other. All you need is power - I liken it to cordless phones with 1 base station plugged in and the rest just need power.

These are not repeaters. They form what is known as a "Mesh Network" (same as the Google Wi-Fi/NetGear Orbi/Linksys Velop etc).
This is an excellent product. I have one disc in my living/dining room, one in a bedroom and one in a garden office. All provide my maximum fibre speed (58 Mbps where I live); previously, Gigabit Powerline gave me only 16 Mbps in the garden office. Worth every penny.
...and costs way more money, is far more complicated to setup/maintain and is way beyond the needs of most domestic homes. This is a consumer product that performs superbly, not a professional networking solution.

Also just to add you should turn wifi OFF on router as this replaces wifi network - uses both 2.4 and 5Ghz

Almost, I'm using five discs to fully cover my house and garden. I must put the spare one up for sale on eBay or something.

I've got 2 sets of these at home, and they really are very good at providing a strong stable WiFi network. I was a bit suspicious of them given that they come from BT, as the BT SmartHubs/HomeHubs are crap, but they have been excellent.

Two questions:
Do they replace existing router?
If so, do they have ethernet ports?

Go to the link and read it, that's why the link to the product is there.
"What’s included
"1 x auto sensing 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet WAN/LAN port"
And no they don't replace the router.

Thats a good deal. I could do with an extra single disk but I cant find it listed as a separate item on the site even though the three disk pack says you can buy the extra disk at a discount.

I noticed this too - was trying to post the extra disc as part of the deal! If you could get 10% off that too with the code makes it even better if you need 4 of them!
