I print these tins, they now nearly all come with an highly scientific internal lacquer, some times 2 coats of internal lacquer is applied, it's a crazy substance that lets zero foreign bodies into the content which even glass cannot manage.

Just curious. I spotted the Pistonhead Full Amber larger in the 4 for £6 deal and wondered why it has a safety warning on it "DRINK IN MODERATION". The site doesn't mention this with any other lagers that I've seen. I was wondering if there was 'something else' in it, or just a standard alcohol warning:
Probably because he wrote the word Jesus and one of the mods is religious.

It's because cans keep beer in better condition than bottles.

Mr President is my fave Brewdog tipple but quite hard to find. I find the Elvis Juice is a more than suitable replacement though :-)

Probably because it's cheaper to manufacture than a product in glass, a can is more efficient in terms of weight and space so it will be cheaper to store/transport. Ultimately in terms of mass market 'beer', cost will win out.
Having beer in the likkle 330ml cans is simply 'fashionable' at the moment. I remember when the 330ml bottles came out, it was exactly the same. The beer/lager market is subject to the whims of fashion just like everything else. In 18 months the 330ml cans will be history.

Also been told by a friend whose been in the Brewing industry that cans are the future. The modern craft breweries are using cans very different to the 24 cans of fosters that gave it such a bad name. Plus the UV protection of the beer means it should last longer, not thats ever been a concern in my house.

None in Milton Keynes but really impressed with their selection of craft beers. Asda used to have the poorest selection but now arguably the best.

ASDA have been clearing out various beers over the last few weeks, and various posts in here have indicated what and where. This will have been due to listing changes, but it is odd that the reductions have been spread across a number of weeks, but in different areas. Great deals if you can get them. Personally I managed to pick up the last case of Dead Pony at Trafford Park a few weeks ago, but they have no reductions now. :man:

Not obviously, the person was talking about drinking Stella from a can
bresslaw73
12 Jun 17#38
Obviously you drink it out of a glass - craft ales often have a small residue so it's best practice to do this with bottles even.
bresslaw73
12 Jun 17#35
If it's canned properly it makes no difference to the taste. There is no metallic taste at all.

It was a 'wild goose chase' joke, this deal is hard to find.
You may get a metallic hint due to the proximity of the can to your nose.

Oh, you said it was?
I don't really drink lager, but whenever I have beer from a can it has a metallic hint in the background. Maybe as Dodge62 says, this the power of suggestion. But to me, glass is much much better, assuming there's not a strong light issue.
termite
12 Jun 17#31
No it's not.
The can is a far better way to store beer. People who say bottled Stella is different to canned are wrong.
barbiegirl
12 Jun 17#30
Ooh. Maybe. That could be right. Power of suggestion you think? Going to test that...
Dodge62
12 Jun 17#29
If you drink directly out of the can/bottle it's obviously going to be different. If you pour both into glasses I'll bet you can't tell which is which.

That's because Stella is a cheap lager sold in unlined cans. Try the Brewdog and see if you can tell the difference.

Bottled Stella tastes nothing like the cans. That’s an undeniable fact. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was brewed somewhere different entirely.

12 Jun 17#22
Rubbish. Modern lined cans taste no different from bottled beer, the beer is better protected, and they're arguably better for the environment - as well as fitting much more neatly in the fridge. Many modern quality beer producers are moving to cans, though there's still resistance to the idea from people brought up on metallic-tasting Skol from unlined cans.

Hubby just been into the Hull/Hessle road store where it was actually reduced to £8!!
Although all sold out it could be worthwhile checking out another Hull store if your local to area.

Don't ever take the Brewdog share offer - the owners make it virtually impossible to sell the shares whilst at the same time drawing huge profits themselves.

One of my favourite breweries the Brew Dog. My go to beer is the Dead Pony Club for a session ale and Punk for special. I don't know the other two so well but £10 is a bargain.
I love the size debate above, made me chuckle. Perfect size for quick beer, however, if I was having one with a curry I'd have a 500ml Atlantic or Tribute. Hot from me, although I wont find any locally. Good luck

These are usually £1.80 each or 4 for £6 so they are a bargain if you can get them. I like all 4 of them if you don't it's not really that good.
Last time I bought a pack it was bottles of Punk IPA, Elvis juice, Dead pony club and jackhammer for £15. Jackhammer is awesome

£10 should be the price for these anyway. Still, probably best price around for the 12 mix. Will pick up some next time in ASDA
