Good deal. Use mine everyday. One point though, water never quite as hot as from a kettle.
Not an issue for me but might be for some.

I would imagine these are quite good for people who drink green tea etc as they don't recommend having the water boiling for them. Jesus christ how middle class do I sound ...

These are shockingly bad, I tried one and returned it as the water is not hot enough, don't waste your money.
Also extremely noisy!

The conclusive proof that these do not get the water hot enough is that youtube video showing a bloke dipping his todger in the cup without suffering any burns. Enough said!

I have measured by myself. It can reach 91ºC, but usually 84ºC straight from spout . So if your cup is cold, you have around 69ºC in a cup.

The Morphy Richards "One Cup" (43930) product I mentioned certainly looks like it boils water, as steam is produced just before it dispenses the remainder of the water at 96 degrees.
You are correct i watched a review and it recorded it at 87°C

...unless a kettle has a minimum amount of water it can boil that exceeds that of the "Hot Cup" (or similar) appliance.
My "One Cup" product (as mentioned above) is for delivery of water for a single cup or mug, boiled from cold in 30 seconds.
I could not do that with a kettle.

At which point you might as well just use a kettle.

These are great for older people or people with disabilities as they don't need to lift a boiling kettle where they could get scalded. I got one for my Gran and dad.

Its actually quite dangerous, especially if you have kids at home, as the one can easily switch this on and water then runs without any warring and can burn hands/fingers..

If you do not leave water in the tank, &/or don't leave the unit plugged-in (or switched on) at the mains (as should be the case with many electrical kitchen/home items when small/vulnerable children are in the home), then the risks are reduced.
Also, if you only fill the appliance's tank with the required amount of water at the point of usage, then the risks are, again, minimised.
When making tea, fresh water should be drawn from the tap immediately before boiling, so leaving water to stand within the appliance's tank should not be a consideration in this case
I have one of these; still going strong, & always delivers hot water, but the product was discontinued by the manufacturer years ago, unfortunately:
Love this idea but sadly I have tried 2 different models and the water is not hot enough for me
Hot for the price

Hot deal. I bought one of these 2 weeks ago for my gran and it's brilliant, well worth the £34.99 I paid. The water is plenty hot for tea and as she can't lift a kettle anymore it has enabled her to make her own tea again. Tempted to buy one for my house now.

Nevertheless, I appreciate Rimi pointing out the potential danger. A relevant consideration to think about.

A lot of things can be dangerous. This item has been posted numerous times over the years and this comes up again and again and then the same things get said, about how numerous other things can be dangerous to children if they are allowed to touch things they should or aren't educated correctly.
At the end of the day this should be up on a work top out of the reach of small children, I've been using mine since my youngest was 4 yrs old and its never been an issue.

Got one of these and its great...........No more of the Mrs filling the kettle to the brim to make just one cup of coffee.
Yes it is quite loud and it only dispenses a set amount but once you know the size of cups to use this isn't an issue for me.
This thing about the water not being hot? I dare anyone to take a drink straight after its gone into your cup, as it always looks boiling hot to me :stuck_out_tongue:
The only real issue I have is trying to descale it, only done it twice now and both times was a pain as the descaling solution bubbles up everywhere!
