My son has one, he plays all his games fine on it, but it does take an age to charge (about 6 hours when empty). It feels like it takes that long to turn on too!
Agree with @stewie, nice screen.

soooo, why haven't tablets evolved, spec wise since the hudl2? sorry if this is a silly question

Because buyers don't want to pay more than £99 for an Android tablet.

Apparently there isn't any money to be made in Android tablets anymore. Personally, I disagree. If One Plus took there 3T and stretched it out into a tablet for around £250, I'd be all over it.

I would say they have. Take a look at the Nvidia Shield K1 it has 192 graphics cores. This makes it super excellent at games. There's a theory that Nintendo switch is one wrapped in a different case.
There isn't much need to increase RAM or CPU beyond current specs because the android apps and OS cannot take advantage of it. It's funny when phones like oneplus come with huge amounts of RAM and yet literally nothing can take advantage of it. And don't say multiple background apps. There are no background apps in Android. It literally saves the state of the app and shuts it down. yes some apps can run a service that will wake the app up but the point im making is that you dont really need more than 2 or 3GB and 4+ is useless and only to entice people who don't know any better many CPUs are 32bit... so they can't even handle 4GB so why put 6GB in a phone/tablet etc. Then Dalvik the virtual machine that actually runs your app is always 32bit.
As for CPU, most apps are single threaded. Some apps are multithreaded but majority are not. So really there isn't much point beyond a dual core either. Quad is nice. Octa is pointless.
So the advances we see are more like better sound / better graphics / nicer screens / bigger batteries etc etc.
In short, there is no need for anything better until the ecosystem for developing apps and the OS are radically changed which will probably come soon.

It's an Android Tablet? (in case I'm mistaken ... )
Why is there a reference to Microsoft Products etc there for and the like? (which are predominantly Windows based Products also?, in-case I'm not mistaken?).
I'd have thought the absence/lack of Microsoft like Products on an Android Tablet (without then having to explain it's absence away etc ... (would have been a bit self-explanatory on their site?).
Hence the lack of need to have had in mentioned in the first place?.
Hence my initial comment ...

While that was maybe true in the past, ART was added in to Android in KitKat (iirc), and became default in Lollipop or Marshmallow. So most new devices aren't using Dalvik.

Microsoft have bought into a lot of Android manufacturers - either as they won a court case meaning they get royalties on most Android devices, and partially because, as Windows 10 has largely flopped in the mobile/non-laptop space, they have to get their products visible somehow.
So, more and more Android devices will come with Office installed by default.
As for anti-virus, depending on the manufacturer, many will come with trial versions - for example Acer, for many years, have included a trial of McAfee for some reason, usually non-removable, without root, but still possible to disable.
