Awesome price, 4 colours in stock at time of posting -Grey, Silver, Gold & Rose Gold

A sleek performer
The iPad Pro is the fastest, most powerful iPad ever thanks to its 64-bit A9X chip. This third-generation chip delivers speed and graphics that are comparable to PCs, allowing you to perform tasks you would have once only done on your desktop. The responsiveness has also been improved to make complex tasks such as editing 4K videos or retouching 3D designs as seamless as possible, while the revamped controller works to increase the read and write speeds to let you easily open large files and rapidly switch between programmes and pages.

New technology for Retina display
On top of the stunning graphics, the iPad Pro 9.7" has a Multi-Touch sub-system to give you the option to use your finger or an Apple Pencil when interacting with the device. Apple has made the images look better on iPad Pro by improving the alignment of the display’s liquid crystal molecules to enhance the contrast on your photos.

Better cameras
Take incredible photos and videos with the amazing iSight and FaceTime HD cameras. The 9.7-inch iPad Pro comes with a 12-megapixel iSight camera, which captures 4K video, 240-fps slo-mo video and Live Photos. It’s also the first iPad with True Tone flash, so skin tone looks great regardless of lighting. This smaller version of the iPad Pro has a 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera with Retina Flash and True Tone for you to take stunning selfies.

Sharp sound
With high-fidelity speakers in each corner that automatically adjust to orientate the high frequency to the top speakers, giving you the clearest audio experience no matter which way up you hold the device.

Taking security seriously
The iPad Pro features an unprecedented level of security thanks to Touch ID. Touch ID lets you use your fingerprint as your password, letting you unlock your iPad or make secure purchases on the App Store, iTunes and iBooks. Your fingerprint information stays on your iPad- it’s not shared with anyone, even Apple, helping to ensure that your personal information remains private.

iOS 10
Bringing iPad to life in personal and powerful ways with a beautiful and easy to use interface. Intelligent suggestions are there right when you need them, while advanced technologies protect your privacy and security. Hardware and software work together, taking full advantage of the powerful A10 chip, advanced camera system, Touch ID sensor and 3D touch.

Each of the core collection of apps is engineered with incredible attention to detail, like Photos, Maps, Messages, News and Health, that work straight out of the box. Plus, with over a million apps available on the App Store, you'll find plenty of options to do almost anything you can imagine.

With iCloud, iOS 10 can connect your Apple products automatically and make your everyday easier. Start a task on your iPad and finish on your Mac. Stream video from your iPhone to your TV through Apple TV. Everything's synced so all your devices have the latest information.

Pre-installed Apps
The iOS 10 also comes with an amazing collection of apps, so you can start making the most of your iPad, straight out of the box. Take photos and videos and edit them on the go. Make video calls with FaceTime and send emails. Organise your life with Siri, Maps and the Calendar app. Plus, with over one million apps available on the App Store, you'll find plenty of options to do almost anything you can imagine.

Or you can get the new 10.5" (64GB) from Apple using NUS Extra for £588.

I'd definitely go for the 10.5" as it's truely a powerful beast.

It has 4GB RAM vs 2GB in the 9.7" and the Apple A10X processor vs A9X in this one the A10X is incredibly powerful infact more powerful than Intels lastest Laptop CPUs in benchmarks.and comes with 120Hz refresh rate which is a game changer for fluidity, and fast smooth scrolling.

The 9.7" is still nice & powerful and you get 2 years Warranty with JL but for less than £40 more you can get the 10.5" with is a beast of a "tablet".

I've had quite the opposite.

Just 2 weeks ago I took back an Apple smart keyboard that stopped working after 19 months.Took it to my local JL store where they guy seen it wasn't working and within 5 minutes he had handed me over a brand new one,and a bonus was that it was the new UK keyboard, where my original one was a first generation model that was a US keyboard.

Fast forward one week and I found myself back at JL with my new 2017 ipad pro because there was a small mark on the frame from new out of the box.Again I was offered a replacement straight away or a VERY decent partial refund if I was to keep it.

So from my personal experience I can't recommend them enough,so much so I would pay extra to buy from them,Currys on the other hand,I do my best to avoid them, even if it means spending more money.

I have this iPad. It works well for now, but my suggestion would be to go for the larger screened ones because they come with 4GB memory. Trust me, the biggest factor in how well an iPad will run apps in a couple of years time is how much memory it has. I've been bitten by this with past iPhones and iPads. Apple are terrible for limiting the RAM and then releasing more OS bloat down the road which maxes it out and everything grinds to a crawl.

Not sure how to work around this, please?

Are you talking about the iPad 3? If so that was released in 2012!

It has a 32-bit processor, which I believe Apple has discontinued support for, which is probably why it didn't get the update.

I can absolutely concur with mcnabb, I was going to buy the Ipad pro 10.5 64GB model yesterday. Signed up for the credit account, and discovered that the above code doesn't seem to account for the Pro 10.5 being electrical and gives 20% off, so went for the larger storage model 256GB, space grey, wifi, and yup £567. Plus £3.95 delivery, and got 12 month interest free credit*.

Would've used this deal otherwise, but 20% off the latest model isn't something I could turn down! Got a dispatch confirmation 2 hours ago too so looks like all has gone through.

*Very says they allow you to pay off in any amounts you wish... just pay the full amount off before the 12 months are up or 39.9% apr is going to add up very quickly!!

Delivered this morning, the promo says it is meant to be if you pay on credit but paid with card (paypal) with no issue. http://www.very.co.uk/first-order-discount.page

To be fair, Apple sold the iPad 2 for a while after the iPad 3 vanished from its store, so it was to be expected that its support would probably outlast that of the stopgap iPad 3.

Although that iteration got the least love from Apple, it came with iOS 5.1 and got four major OS updates. I am guessing the hi-res screen coupled with only 1GB of RAM would probably have turned iOS 10 into a lagfest. It was starting to creak and stutter on my iPhone 5s if that is any consolation.

Not sure if there are many five year old Android devices running Marshmallow or Nougat competently either.

Couldn't agree more. If ever a company were trading on its past reputation it's John Lewis. Appalling Trustpilot reviews (https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.johnlewis.com) poor customer service, high prices for most things, and a 'Never Knowingly Undersold' policy that's been proved to be rigged. What's not to like?

That's pretty standard for a phone tablet warranty. If the screen is smashed they won't repair it, add there is a chance of the screen being damaged more when the tablet is opened up

Dont trust John lewis- their guarantee is worthless in my opinion: I used to be a big fan of John Lewis and their so called 'warranty' until I bought a Lenovo tablet for my son a while a while ago (from JL) -and he had an accident and cracked the screen. However this didnt affect the tablet and it still worked for many months after and then one day it just stopped working. WeI took it back to JL as it was still in guarantee- and after initially suggesting I should clap my son around the ear for it(!) they took it off me and said I should hear back within a week- 4 weeks later I hadnt heard so I phoned- they said it could take upto 28 'working days'-(isnt that 4 weeks if they're open everyday?). After several calls trying to chase progress and speaking to floor manager (General Store managers by the way dont talk to customers- they are required at higher levels)- I got a call from customer services in Exeter(?) to say they were still waiting for the tablet from the store so they couldnt give me an update! I was speechless and then a staff member from the Sheffield store phoned me a couple of hours later to say they had now received feedback from Medion and the tablet couldnt be repaired uner warranty as the cracked screen was classes ad accidental damage- I explained that it had previously worked despite cracked screen- but they were not willing to even look at it unless i was prepared to pay for the repair.I asked for the tablet back to get a second opinionb and she promised to get it back to me by Wedsnesday 28/06- which was the '28 working day'. Guess what? I didnt get a call on Wednesday nor Thursday/Friday. Eventually got a call on Sat. 01/07- 3 days after telling me to come and pick up the damaged unrepaired unhandled tablet up.
So much for JL service and guarantee!

Sorry that's what I meant - I'm already enrolled on the beta programme but when I go to update it still says I'm on the most up to date version instead of telling me to download iOS 11 beta.

iOS 11 won't be released until fall.
he is talking about the "beta" version, which means it's not the final version and just for trying out as it could have bugs and issues, so it's just for demonstration and testing new features but it;'s not the final and official release yet.
the process of getting the "beta" is different than what you normally do to update.

It seems like a lot to spend on last year's tech. I'm not going to lie and say, "it's rubbish", but when you're spending 'that kind of money', might as well be on the latest with the newer SoC, better display and everything else that goes along with it. Otherwise at the very least you're losing a year of updates/speed at the long-term end.
