I've mounted a QI charger under a panel where my phone sits in my car.
It is handy to just place the phone on, no wires in the way, and easy to pick up and check that text when bored on the motorway.
that's why we have 100000 windmills installed every year to destroy all nice views!!!
and it's all because of inefficient wireless charging!

I think we have worse things to worry about than wireless charging my friend.

If my Moto G2 had wireless charging then the USB port wouldn't have been damaged by an overheating USB cable, such that I can no longer charge or use it.
OK it's energy inefficient but so is having to throw away an otherwise decent phone and buy a new one, considering all the natural resources that have to be extracted, plastic made, etc. So if wireless charging enabled people to keep using their phones for longer instead, maybe it would be beneficial in energy terms.

Corner case, but I see your point.

Well it's a very inefficient way of charging a device. If we'd all do it, then this planet will be that much poorer.

1. On all phones I owned, I never actually managed to wear out a USB/charging port. But then I never keep a phone longer than the duration of contract when they force a new one down my throat.
2. If you find plugging a cable in/out once or twice a day a chore, then man you must be quite a creature of comfort.
3. If you say so.

Well I think wireless charging is a great idea. Wish I could use it but I can't afford these Qi-Enabled phones and only have a ZUK Z2 Plus.

Still struggling to find a good reason why I'd use wireless charging...

Really? I've been using it since the Lumia 920 days and I've never looked back. Especially since fast wireless charging has become available, no reason to charge with a cable anymore.

Same here, until last week when the micro USB port on a Directors phone where I work broke when he was out of the office and had near zero charge left, so I told him to pop into a phone shop and get a wireless charging pad to get him out of this hole (he has a Galaxy S6).

I got this Samsung wireless charger and an app that automatically turns my S7 edge to a full screen night clock when docked. One of the best gadgets I have bought.

No they aren't particularly efficient. But really that doesn't matter, we're not talking about doubling your electric bill here. Yes they are slower than fast chargers but if you have one of these on your desk you won't need your charger anyway.
I used to use one when I had my Nexus 5, gave it up for a fast charger when I went to Nexus 6. I bought one again a few months ago that's angled so it serves as a phone holder as well on the desk, I think I've probably charged manually only 4 or 5 times since getting it.

Samsung fast charger does exactly what it says for me on par with my fast charger cable and plus at the moment an in the household we have Samsung devices with UsB C also.

Last thing I read only about 60% of the charge reaches the phone. The wireless unit has to out put 2 amps to get 1 amp to the phone.
Things may be better now, but I can't find any newer numbers?

Do you lose power using wireless charging?

But don't you lose almost 50% of the power used to change? Or are they more efficient now?

Just a note to anyone buying it will need a charger as it does not come with one. (Heat added btw)
