Why does this keep expiring? It's an ongoing offer..

**Sign up for an online course affiliated with the NUS, (link to a lifetime one for £14), then apply for NUS card (£12), go on Amazon chat with a scan of your NUS card and get Prime for £39, any full price rime refunded, plus 6 months free.**

This can all be sorted on the same day, read on..

WHEN YOU HAVE PAID FOR YOUR NUS CARD, DOWNLOAD THE APP, AND SCREENSHOT YOUR CARD. TALK TO AMAZON CHAT TO GET A REFUND ON YOUR REMAINING FULL PRICE PRIME, THEN 6 MONTHS FREE, THEN A YEAR AT £39!!!

Also:
You get lifetime student status with the writing course which allows lifetime access, i.e. you're a student for life.

You don't get lifetime NUS membership, all students have to pay for a new NUS card annually (of you can buy 3 years in a row).

Scan and email your NUS card to Amazon customer services and they apply your Student Prime status. (Exactly what they advised me to do, and exactly how it works.)

Buying an online course subscription is a perfectly legal, legitimate way to get student status, entitling you to buy an NUS card.

There may be cheaper courses, but this one offers lifetime access (and might just be of interest, too), so no need to keep buying one each year to get your NUS card.

I did this 2 years ago, it's still working a treat and gets me Amazon Student Prime for £39, Spotify half price, discounts all over the place including 10% off in most Co-Op supermarkets, as well as attractions, restaurants etc.

Buy the coupon, sign up for the children's story writing course, then follow their instructions for NUS sign-up, which are basically as follows:

1. Visit: cards.nusextra.co.uk

2. Enter your email address and click the ‘Get your card now’ button.

3. Type ‘Digital Sea Ltd’ as your ‘place of study’ (Digital Sea Ltd is the parent company of WriteStoryBooksForChildren.com).

4. Follow the rest of the steps in the application process.

5. When prompted for your Student ID, enter your ID which is: xxxxxxx whatever student ID they give you, find it HERE: writestorybooksforchildren.com/nus/

Once your card arrives you can sign up for Amazon Student Prime, Spotify etc. If you can't find Digital Sea in their educational establishment list you can scan you're card and email it to their customer services dept (this works for Amazon, with no problems).

If you take out Amazon Prime & Spotify then it's already paid for itself, and then next year you'll just have to renew the NUS card, so it's just £12...

Post your completed children's stories here once completed.

Update from user Apogee00: Get 6 months Prime free then 12 months at £39

ALSO:

When adding your course details on to the NUS website, it will ask you for your student ID (as issued by Digital Sea).
It's on the course website WHEN YOU LOG IN. It may take a day or so to appear, can't remember) but those 1. 2. 3. steps I listed above were copy/pasted and showed my ID which I replaced with 'xxxxx'

writestorybooksforchildren.com/nus/

When entering your course details, it doesn't really matter what you enter (I don't think), I'd put 'Literature", today's start date and a distant date in the future without taking the p***!

LAST UPDATE (for now): When you have bought your NUS card, download the NUS app. That displays your photo card and all the details you need for Amazon Prime. Take a screenshot and email that to Amazon. Many people have got it all sorted, a pro rata refund for their full price (or £59) prime, and got 6 months free staring from today.

Enrolling in Amazon Student Without a Recognised E-mail Address:
If you are 18 or over and able to provide proof of enrolment in at least one course at a university or college located in the UK, you may be eligible to enrol in Amazon Student through an alternative process.

To provide proof of age and enrolment, please send an e-mail to [email protected] from the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.co.uk account.
Please also ensure that your bank card (credit / debit) details are up-to-date before writing to us.
You can check your card details within Manage Your Payment Methods.

In the message, include a scan, photo or screenshot of one of the following:

  • A valid NUS Extra or NUS Apprentice Extra card (must show your name, institution, and date of expiry)

To be honest, with the exception of the amazon, now tv and possibly apple offers, havent used the NUS card but the wife says I should have got it in her name so she could have used it instore.

may also be possible for CIMA , ICAS etc students.

Pretty dull and rather expensive if the course is being used as a tool to acquire the NUS Extra card. Repeat of earlier post: unless somebody at NUSX has recently decreed that they shall activey strive to reduce their revenue from subs, we've been here many times before: there is zero requirement to buy any course nor be studying to apply and obtain an NUS card. The requirements appear to simply be the ability to upload a JPEG photo of anything and ability to throw £12 at a website. To prove a point: my cat has an NUSX card - complete with cute photo and uttlerly implausible but obviously acceptable-to-NUS name similar to Mee Yau.

ScroopEgerton to robodan918

How could it be fraud?!
It's neither. The NUS recognises the course provider as educational, and have an agreement with them.

"As a result of our affiliation with the National Union of Students (NUS) we’re delighted to announce that ALL students of writefictionbooks.com are eligible to apply for a valuable, money-saving NUS extra and International Student Identity Card (ISIC)!"

And NUS card holders get Amazon Prime half price.

Using the course as a tool to fraudulently obtain discounts (look up the word fraud, because this deal is precisely a definition of what fraud is) if you have no intention of studying is extremely immoral.

So yes, I'd be embarrassed to show my face to a retailer in this instance.

As for my other comment about Unidays, by the fact that so many retailers now choose only to accept only Unidays cards over NUS cards is a clear signal that too many people have abused the NUS card system

where are the free courses that you can sign up to get the nus card?
I am going to look for something I am interested in. Like photography or programming.
Is there a list of confirmed available education departments that nus allow because I assume you can't sign up to any course from unknown education site.

Thanks

Alternatively you can do a free course at the shaw academy, get your registration number from them and then apply for the NUS card. Don't even need to spend the £14 on a crappy course.

If you're the type of person to have the balls to walk into a shop and attempt to use an illegitimate student card with 'Children's Book Writing Course' written on the front of then, well, good on you. You deserve to get the discount.

Unfortunately I have more morals than that which means I'll be paying the full price for my goods.

One other point to note - it's been noted by many that most retailers now only accept Unidays as a valid form of student ID. I wonder why that could be!!?
ScroopEgerton to alexc100
1 Jul 17 #109
Oh, this is hilarious!

How is it illegitimate if you've paid for a course and the NUS recognise the course provider and accept subscribers to their scheme? And if retailers choose to give discount to the massive customer base of NUS card holders?

For your information, it doesn't say "Children's Book writing Course" on the front, it says "Digital Sea Ltd", but if you're the type of person who's embarrassed by that, or thinks you have to have a massive student debt from university before you're entitled to NUS, then you deserve to pay full price.

Enjoy living with your expensive, unfortunate morality.

How are you using the card illegitimately if you obtained it legitimately?
Are you suggesting then that people who pay for the course must prove their effort in aiming to complete it?
If i sign up to the course intending to complete it i am a legitimate student entitled to a card. But then if i dont does that make all my previous discounts fraudulent?
Maybe retailers should give you a short exam on your subject at the checkout before hitting the discount button.
You are the definition of somebody who cares too much about things that should not concern them. An opinion that must be heard and respected just because you have it.

Why are people purchasing the course just to then purchase the NUS card? You can sign up to the NUS without the need to sign up to a course.

Scan the card, send to Amazon then you get prime.

As soon as you register/pay for the NUS you can access the NUS number in your account so you don't need to wait for the card to arrive to sign up to spotify or to use for online discounts (e.g Asos etc)

Deals like this absolutely p*** me off. One day NUS will just stop the cards because people use them for their own benefit, and then the people who actually need them won't be able to use them!

College students are recommended to work no more than 8 hours (or at least my college says), let alone full time! The minimum wage for under 18's is £4.05. That's £32.40 a week. For arguments sake, let's say it's 4 weeks pay. That's £129.60 a month, and around £1600 a year. 20% of that gets taken for keep money (more or less percentage depending on how much your parents charge) and you're left with £103.68 a month.

You can argue "what will a college student use that for?" but the same could be said about what you have left, which in most cases will be more than that.

A little off topic now but I am just pointing out that most of these commenters are able to afford paying the full price, they are just using it for their own benefit!

1 Jul 17 #232
No you don't... you can either get an Alumni card or you can sign up for a free shaw academy course (Google...) and then just select shaw academy as your place of study and use your registered email as the student ID.

also for the tit saying that some retailers now only accept unidays because it's more secure that is utter clap trap as I haven't been a student for nearly 8 years but it happily still accepts my old uni .ac.uk email address! it was brilliant when the Morrisons deals was going

For those complaining about this being unethical ... I paid to have classes on a 3 year course which makes me a student for that time , if I choose not to take them classes that's up to me , the whole purpose of this site is to save money and this is one of the best and easiest ways I've found since being on here

You clearly think firms are giving student discount to help struggling students. In my opinion, that's pretty gullible. This is not charity, this is all marketing. When companies give student discount it is their way of targeting their future customers. If you are going to worry about fraud you should probably try understanding our retail systems better. They target a certain group who they want to sell too......if you want to buy from them, join that group. Simple, everyone wins

There’s actually a cheaper way to do this. If you get in touch with the skills network, they offer courses funded by colleges. It’s all online and totally free. Best thing about these was the general Amazon discount but that's long gone. Personally I don't need "Prime" or use Spotify and rarely shop at a Co-op. I'd be amazed if you could get a student gym membership with one of these alone, usually they would ask to see your course acceptance letter or some other proof of full time student status.
With all the discounts available online now via a quick google search, cards like these aren't as useful as they once were.

If you visit Groupon via Topcashback and create a new account then purchase this Children's Writing Course (£14) you will earn £5 TCB cashback (offer ends today!) bringing the price down to only £9!

In my opinion it's not worth risking trying to also use the code: NEW15 (15% discount off one Groupon purchase) as TCB terms and conditions state you will not receive cashback if using a discount code not approved by them and that code is not listed on TCB site.

Hope of help to someone? Perhaps can be edited into OP in case someone misses this post?

ScroopEgerton to harrow.-ed

I think your school or college has to validate your Oyster application, so I doubt it.

"To get an 18+ Student Oyster photocard you must be:

  • A student aged 18 or over
  • Living at a London address during term time
  • Enrolled with a participating school, college or university that's registered on the TfL scheme
You must also be one of the following:

  • Enrolled on a full-time course including at least 15 tuition-led and/or structured learning hours a week (with attendance at scheduled classes being Monday to Friday only and not including evening classes) over a minimum of 14 weeks on the same course
  • Receiving NHS bursary money* as a full-time student
  • A full-time postgraduate student (for example, studying or writing up for 15 or more hours a week)
  • A full-time student registered and studying on a higher education course with an education establishment not registered on the scheme, but on mandatory work placement in London for at least 14 weeks. You must still be under the pastoral care of your education establishment
  • A sabbatical officer
  • Enrolled on a part-time course lasting a period of at least 14 weeks and either:
    • A part-time student receiving NHS bursary money* or
    • A part-time postgraduate student receiving financial help from your education establishment as part of their Higher Education Council for England (HEFCE) discretionary additional support (such as Student Opportunity allocation or Access to Learning Fund)^
*You must provide your school, college or university with satisfactory evidence of your sponsorship before they can validate your application.

^Talk to your education establishment before you apply if you are unsure whether you are eligible.

If your school, college or university is outside Greater London, but you live in Greater London during term time and travel regularly to and from there, you may still be eligible for this photocard.

You are not eligible if:

  • You're getting paid for on-the-job training
  • You live outside Greater London during term time"

Says the guy promoting fraud, a criminal offence.
ScroopEgerton to HedgyHoggy
4 Jul 17 #369
Oh dear lord, we've had this discussion on here several times.

Ignorant people are still suggesting that legally paying for a course affiliated with the NUS, who the NUS actually ACCEPT as a route to entry into the NUS scheme, which you pay to be a part of, and retailers are happy to accept custom from this massive customer base because it's good for their business (not because they somehow want to give students an easier ride, it's a commercial decision) is somehow fraudulent and illegal.

It doesn't matter if you intend to make use of the course or not, it's important that you've registered with a course accepted by the NUS.
As someone else pointed out, if I buy a can of Coke purely to get a free towel, and have no intention of actually drinking the Coke, it's the same thing. Must be fraud, right?

Better report me to the police though, if you think it's a serious offence. Though I'm pretty sure that HUKD admin would have pick up on any deals that are actually illegal and delete, and banned me.

And voting something cold because someone hoped it would reach 2k? Honestly how sad.

Just popped by here to say I just did this with The Shaw Academy (free Photography course) and signed up for the NUS Extra card. £33.50 for 3 years. Contacted AMazon and within an hour I have been changed over to Amazon Prime Student, 6 months free trial and then £39 a year. Got a pro-rata refund of my normal Prime account which was due to renew on a few days. Also just signed up for Spotify student for £4.99.

So far I've saved 6 x £7.99 for Amazon Prime (£47.94) - Spotify Student for 6 months x £4.99 (if I keep it that long) - £29.94 = 18 and I've done very little. We go out to eat a lot so it will save me more and more as I use it. Awesome.

I appear to have lost my household settings now so my wife cannot get prime delivery on her account.
That is rather annoying. I think I have probably learnt my lesson but hey, even if I revert back to standard prime, I can at least maybe earn my £27.50 when I publish my first book called Barry Plotter.
To sum up the plot, it's a story that revolves around a student who goes to a special school, Hodwarts, with many other special students. They get involved in all sorts of hilarious scrapes and then eventually graduate but maintain their NUS cards and use it to purchase reduced alcohol at the local Co-Op. Its like a modern day take on a similar story released many years ago.

There should be a skicky on this thread, where the sticky states that NUS Extra is a commercial venture and has zero interest in checking any student credentials - it just wants your cash / subs. All student / study details can be ficticious and all checkboxes can be marked acceptable within signup, the only item that is checked for authenticity is the payment card. This was most bluntly explained via a post in an earlier similar thread at hotukdeals.com/dea…549

'So no one is 'pretending' to be a student by doing it this way - it fits the NUS's own definition. If they change the definition in future, making it harder or impossible to get an NUS card this way, then so be it - but until then there's nothing fraudulent about it.'

I don't think you know what 'fraud' means. It is NOT a matter of following the letter of the law, it is your INTENTION that matters. Do you think that everyone who is using this method of getting a card is actually studying an online children's writing course? I hate to tell you this, this wouldn't stand up in court, the judge would shake his head and say GUILTY, and a jury would laugh and mutter 'nice try'.

I will stand corrected if in a few years we see a stream of JK Rowlings churning out bestsellers.
reddragon105 to HedgyHoggy
5 Jul 17 #403
No, I don't think you know what fraud is. You're saying it's not a matter of following the letter of the law then you're talking about what would and wouldn't hold up in court. Courts do care about the letter of the law - that's how they work. A judge will not - cannot - find you guilty if you didn't break the letter of the law. You're taking a moral standpoint - which you're entitled to - and saying that it's legally binding, which it isn't. And even if it was, it's very difficult to prove someone's intention - how would you prove someone signed up for an online course just to get an NUS card? What if they didn't have time to do it, got bored, changed their mind or are just a terrible student?

The NUS don't care about intention, they only care about student status. If you sign up to an online course, you're a student; if you are a student, you're entitled to an NUS card. You fit their definition of student, there's no deception involved, therefore no fraud. If we were talking about a way to get an NUS card without being a student, then that would be fraud, but that's not the case. They could make it so that you'd have to be a member of an affiliated student union (i.e. a student physically attending an actual university) but they haven't.

Dude, my cat has an NUS Extra card. If NUSSL wanna nuzzle me and my cat into court, the judge would be the one laughing at the audacity. The NUS Extra card is a commercial exercise run by NUS Services Limited designed to acquire subcription costs from any human (and animal) with £12+ burning a hole in their pocket or fur. Maybe RSPCA should take NUSSL to court for not showing a duty of care to its feline applicants, or inappropraitely coercing a feline to encourage its guardian to enter into false representation to obtain discounted cat treats from the local Coop? This observation does not require a response, it justs indicates the absurdity of the fraud argument related to an organisation that performs zero applicat authenticity checks except for the authenticity of the subcription payment card.

'As someone else pointed out, if I buy a can of Coke purely to get a free towel, and have no intention of actually drinking the Coke, it's the same thing.'

LOL! Noooo...not the same thing in the slightest. What you are doing is gaining financial advantage/services by misrepresentation. i.e. you are pretending to be a student at a UK uni/college to get a discount on purchases. This is a fraudulent act, clear and simple. It's no different from pretending to be disabled and claiming a parking badge.

'Who does it harm though, really?' I hear you say.

'Everyone else who uses Amazon' is the answer. Your discount is paid for by the rest of us who shop on Amazon. Abuse of this system will also result in Amazon and others reducing the amount of student deals in the future. I really shouldn't have to explain this, it's basic economics.

So please, stop talking gibberish trying to justify your act of fraud. You know it's wrong, we all do, you just don't care.
reddragon105 to HedgyHoggy
5 Jul 17 #395

Okay, let's break this down as simply as possible -

Amazon offer a 6 month free trial and discounted membership of their Prime service to students.
Most, if not all, student discounts are handled through the NUS (National Union of Students), so to get them you need an active NUS membership.
To have an active NUS membership you need to a) pay £12 per year and b) be a current student.
Obviously anyone can pay the £12 but - shockingly - anyone can also be a student, because we live in a free country where education is available to anyone regardless of age or social status. Being a student doesn't mean being age 18-21 doing an undergraduate degree for the first time, living in halls and paying £10,000 a year tuition fees. Being a student can be someone aged 45 doing an evening photography course at their local college or even - because of the digital age we live in - doing an online children's writing course. If you are studying something, you are a student.
What counts as a 'student' for the purpose of NUS membership is decided by the NUS. If the NUS have decided that doing an online course qualifies you for membership and entitles you to student discount, then you legitimately qualify for it.

So no one is 'pretending' to be a student by doing it this way - it fits the NUS's own definition. If they change the definition in future, making it harder or impossible to get an NUS card this way, then so be it - but until then there's nothing fraudulent about it.

5 Jul 17 #404
I'm not really sure how you can compare legitimately purchasing an educational course which entitles you to certain benefits to fraudulently stating you have a disability.

If I purchase Amazon prime and don't watch the instant video, which is one of the benefits, is that fraud?

If I join a gym and get 10% off drinks from the cafe but only ever use it for getting my coffee from and never use the gym equipment, is that fraud?
wakeywarrior
5 Jul 17 #405
If someone decides to do this and get half price Prime, half price Spotify and 10% off shopping at Co op- Comes in handy when picking up a nice bottle of Scotch- good luck to them. I was telling someone about this, and they said it was 'outrageous'. I said why? They paid for the course, the NUS have done a deal so that they are for NUS purposes classified as a student if they sign up to that course. They legitimately signed up and can legitimately get the card. No one is being deceived, they are not doing anything legally or morally wrong. What is the problem?
ScroopEgerton to wakeywarrior

Exactly. There is no problem.

Don't be a bell end. It's not fraud.

You're paying for the course, the nus card and the prime albeit at a slightly lower rate.

In return you get the course (your call if you do it), the card which gives some money off (remember you've paid for that card) and the giant called Amazon get your £39 in advance which is pure profit to them.

Another reason why I prefer to pay a small amount for a course, hence including it as part of the deal posting..
It's not a big outlay and more than pays for itself.
In all honesty I can't imagine they'd go through all the thousands of students to verify, but it's quite likely that people who work at Amazon look at HUKD, and pretty certain that those people would see this deal.

It's not a huge leap then for them to decide to protect their revenue by investing a little time investigating the recent rush of sign-ups from the 'Shaw Academy'...

It won't be long before all you saddo's ruin it for the students and they pull the student discounts because there are suddenly a few extra hundred thousand taking advantage. Discussion about the morality/legality of all this is interesting, but consider:

- If the retailers who support the NUS based discounts had a problem with what happens they'd put pressure on the NUS to tighten it all up. No sign of that at the moment.
- It 'hurts' nobody except the retailers who are independent commercial companies who chose to support discounts for certain customer profiles (which in this case are folk with NUS cards, however folk obtained them)
- You could consider that if the retailers can afford to offer the discounts at all, what's maybe a bit "discriminatory" is that don't offer the same discounts to just everyone! But there's nothing illegal today about offering different pricing to different folk based on some arbitrary criteria (new customer, loyal customer, voucher holder, NUS card holder, whatever)

I don't really understand why having a NUS card obtained by this method is somehow "unfair". It's totally up to the NUS how they choose to police or control how folk get their cards... And totally up to the retailer if they want to support NUS card holder discounts... I'm not even sure this is really a loophole either...
ScroopEgerton to Wibbly

Oh god, here's another one.
Someone else with no grasp at all of how these things work.
"Ooh, let's give the students some nice discount! Let's hope not too many students come in to our shop to spend their money. That would ruin our charitable gesture."
No. It's a commercial venture. All retailers would bite an arm off for a "few extra hundred thousand" customers.
It's fine if you won't stoop this low.
You keep on smugly paying more than the rest of us, and feel happy that you're doing the right thing, whilst we get our grubby discounts having followed the EXACT rules set up by the course provider, the NUS and the retailers.

If at some time they decide to change those rules then so be it. But in the mean time so long as the rules are followed, then there's no moral issue whatsoever. You've created a problem that isn't there.

Technically it's valid but okay let's say that the vast majority here aren't really interested in a free photography course or a thing about writing childrens stories (both technically valid for the NUS card) then I'd call the spirit of it "a bit of an exploit" maybe (I think corrupt is pushing it a bit far). I'd then ask, would you expect the various companies involved to be of 100% squeaky clean morality and completely fair to you if the roles were reversed? Or would you expect them to milk you and everyone else for every penny they can get away with? (Hint: most of these big companies including Amazon and Apple practice tax evasion - because currently, they have perfectly legal loopholes with which to do so) (Unless the Tories have closed that loophole recently)

We live in capitalist society - when you get a chance to legally get your share of the money they're saving with their various "morally imperfect" ways with a few of your own, I say it makes sense to go for it. If it becomes a problem there'll be new laws and more stringent rules (such as requiring Unidays)

Of course, the moral imperfection makes me feel about 5% better about forgetting this NUS card idea when buying my Macbook!

I'm seemingly the only person denied any kind of refund on my current Prime (from March), due to "having used the delivery service more than 10 times". Does everyone here not use the service much or did I just get a very strict chat centre person?

Still not able to make payment.
NUS said there is a new payment system but why is most people don't have problems.
is anyone using E-Careers?
They said only NUS Extra membership is only acceptable for courses that meet the criteria, to find out about the courses that meet the criteria please contact our sales or support teams.
Just wondering if my course meet the requirement?

Understand your point, but I think in the end Amazon are benefiting from this.
Reason:
People who want to have prime but find £79/y bit too much (and would otherwise not subscribe) may go via the student route. Therefore Amazon get your business, albeit at £39/y and you also get prime at a "discounted" rate.
I believe if this was a big deal, Amazon would be more diligent and be closing this "loophole".
Just my 2p

Just a word of advice for those grabbing the Shaw Academy free courses - you do have to be at least somewhat interested in actually learning as they will call you and follow up and chase for attendance to the webinars etc. I've been called twice so far already. (I expect once the free ones are over they'll start cold calling about the paid courses)
spitfire51
13 Jul 17 #537
Interesting....What could happen if you do not attend webinars? Might purchase a $2 course rather than the free one then
Have not subscribed yet....
Cloudane
13 Jul 17 #538
Who knows. They can't force you of course, and you can probably just tell them not to bug you. But I imagine they wouldn't look on it favourably if applying to any future courses with them

I'm going to try and make the effort to at least do something for the status of "student" in the spirit of the whole NUS thing and hey, learning something as well as getting discounts is a pretty good deal
AndyRoyd
13 Jul 17 #539
My cat used same route to obtain a card and the card hasn't been revoked yet. TBH, it's highly unlikely that NUS Services Ltd will revoke a card once issued - that would involve somebody having to leave the pub early to do some investigation in the office. NUSSL even ignores its own ramblings cos it just wants your subscription money; one of its laughable statements is "Most NUS extra cards have to be sent to your place of study to verify your student status" but nobody at NUSSL has managed to tear themselves away from the pub to investigate if my moggy's home address is fronting an educational establishment. It's all a farce to relieve you of your £12+.

Hi, what did you put down for course level, course discipline, study to and from dates?
MitchellT
20 Jul 17 #553
In the end I could not see photography listed in Course Discipline, so I chose other.

I could not see diploma listed in Course Level, so put other.

For the date range I put the length of the photography course which was a month, so July 2017 to August 2017.

Shaw academy did not present me with a Shaw Academy Student Number and I could not find it via the account page as well as a point of contact to query the student number, therefore I left it blank when asked by NUS.

I paid for a 3 year card and everything went through, just waiting for it via the post!.

Below is an email I've received from Spotify customer service rep after contacting them and asking to verify my student status because I wasn't able to do it via Unidays:

Thanks for getting back in touch.
Unfortunately, NUS is currently unavailable as a discount option.
We’d recommend using UNiDAYS here, as NUS isn’t available. Keep in mind that we can't apply the discount directly as it's processed by them. You can request a UNiDAYS account directly through the Spotify student discount page.
We hope taht this helps!. If you have any other questions, just let us know.

As reported in the comments above, it's no longer possible to obtain a student subscription on Spotify with an NUS card.

You can however get six months of Amazon Music Unlimited with an Amazon Student account for £6 (£1 a month), and £4.99 thereafter.

Amazon Music Unlimited has more tracks in its database than Spotify too.

When my free trial for Google Play Music ends, I'll definitely be taking up the Amazon Music Unlimited offer. £6 for six months is a steal.

Should work for the Wowcher deal I think. It's not the one I originally posted, but I altered it when the Digital Sea was no longer accepted. Test it by finding the course provider via wowcher, and doing a dummy run on the NUS card.

I'm giving this a go now! I've bought a Wowcher course (FIVE: An online financial management five course bundle from e-Courses4You (was £399) OR redeem towards another available deal) for £12 which is run by a provider that's approved by the NUS. Filled in my NUS details, now to download the app and try to use it...
