But now you have done, here's the old thread.

Yeah it's like people arent doing math right

£10 to phone gets you £10 free thats £20 in total = cant quite afford the years PSN+
You then have to add another £10 to pay the £29.99 for the years PSN+
Unless the step missed is top up £5 to get £5 free for the last £10 on the iphone step in the OP

and i'm bad at Math

So to avoid bundles becoming active etc. isn't it easier to order the £25 big bundle SIM, put £11 credit in it, get your £10 free (we're at £21 now, still under £25 so bundle hasn't been triggered); top up SEN with £20 from the mobile leaving 90p credit for whatever. That's only 1 transaction & full £20 applied to SEN, mobile credit can only be used 3 times a month, so more efficient.

I understand how all those steps work but why does this give you a years PS+? a year of PS+ is not £15. Does credit get doubled up when spent on ps store or something?

Also this method works for iTunes voucher code
Azani
15 Jun 17 #10
you would need to do this process twice and get 2 sim cards to get the ps+ for £15 top up £11 twice and get an extra 20 so you'll end up with £40 then buy the ps+

Hi guys,
Can anyone confirm this is still working and which sim they went for? Tried it a couple of months back by calling 4444 and top up of 11 but never got anything.
Asked o2 via chat and was told the offer had ended.

Thanks

Still works. International sim. Trued yesterday
hassansf
15 Jun 17 #17
Not advertised anywhere I've seen. When selecting the International SIM for this to work they do give an option of Top Up £10 or Top Up £15. Turns out they send one SIM for both offers and you just get your rewards based off how much you top up.

So topping up £10 gets me £10 = £20. But the thing stopping me from applying £20 to my PS account is the -10p text is that correct? meaning I will be left with £19.90 on the phone?
BubaMan
15 Jun 17 #20
But it's like Groundhog Day!
There's no mention of Quidco, TCB, the Rewards method, the £11 method, limitations or pitfalls in the OP.
If you're going to bring this to the front, you should take the benefit of 2 years of experience and take out the ambiguity.

chaywa
15 Jun 17 #27
£10 is the minimum topup. So you need to spend £20 for that deal but you would have an extra tenner of PS/other credit to use.

h3llo_fr1end
15 Jun 17 #29
I'd like to know this too. I'm no good at maths, but by my calculations you would pay 24.99 for PS+ saving £5. Can someone disprove this please?
chunk3rvd
15 Jun 17 #30
For all the maths people - the offer is a actually that you'll get 1 years PS Plus and £10 PSN credit for £20. To get that you'll need to order 2 sims and you'll need to purchase your Plus before the current £29.99 offer runs out. The gist of it though is that you can basically get anything on PSN for half price, hence the OP's claim that a years PS+ is £15

6ixFoot1
15 Jun 17 #32
It's a bit misleading like some of the US/Canadian PSN deals.

You have to spend £20 minimum to get ps+ for £15

Get two sims, top up £10 each (or £11) and you'll get £10 free credit on each sim. So £40 in total between the two. Use them to top up your PSN wallet and buy PS+ subscription online which is discounted at £29.99 at the mo. £29.99 of credit basically just cost you £15
h3llo_fr1end
15 Jun 17 #33
Thanks. That makes more sense.
jediknight111
15 Jun 17 #34
Am I correct in saying I can

Use two Sims, top up £11 on each , then use £20 on each sim with 90p remaining?

so £22 equals £40?

AKA Horizon Zero Dawn + Plus £10 PS Credit for £22
aka Zero Dawn for £12???

seems like too good price, is my maths off?
jakecrowder
15 Jun 17 #35

Discotech
15 Jun 17 #37
£10 + £10 = £20

15 Jun 17 #38
Boring deal
6ixFoot1
15 Jun 17 #39
Well if you break down how much the psn credit is costing you even further, its £5 for £5 credit so £30 of credit costs you £15. That's where the £15 comes from.

Credit doesn't have to be used for ps+

Can you see where the £15 is being pulled from now?

Yes, I know, you do have to spend a minimum of £20
dmkurt
16 Jun 17 #40
This is an awesome idea, but I have trawled the o2 website and in store and cannot find any details of this 'free credit' offer. The best they seem to do is £2-£5 back per month, dependent on topups.
Where / how do we get the £10 bonus credit offer?
Taliban_Army
16 Jun 17 #41
Order the International Sim, on back cover.
31212811-pBfqF.jpg Just added £40 to my psn balance for a total outlay of £21, by doing 2 sims. Top up £11 by dialing 4444 on 1st Sim, send text free10, wait for reply that £10 has been added. Add £20 to psn balance, costs 10p text. Balance on Sim 1 is now 90p.

Open a Web chat on O2 website, ask them to transfer balance from sim 1 to sim 2, tell them your receiving hate texts from ex girlfriend/boyfriend. Balance of 90p gets transferred to sim 2, now repeat 1st stage of topping up £10.

You will be left with a balance of 80p to use for the next Sim, and your psn balance is now £40

theres a long running thread thats been going for about 3 years with this deal.. but since this has attracted some new interest heres a few points to add from memory.

you can only use 3 different sims in a month. after that itll say "woah slow down" or something to that effect.

you can use the rewards scheme to get a free 50p every quarter. so if youre patient theres no need for £11.. you can top up £10 from the o2 website and collect the 50p every quarter to pay for the psn text..

you can use TCB three times and get £5.25 per sim. you can use quidco once but its not as reliable and most say it never tracks. dont try and abuse TCB as they get funny about it and can put the cash on hold.

you can order 2 sims at a time from o2. but to be on the safe side probably best to stick to one a day. as you can only redeem 3 a month theres not much need to get greedy and order loads anyway..

the sim card envelope doesnt need the "get £10 free offer" on the back as they sometimes alternate the deal with other offers. just text Free10 to 21500 and itll still give you the £10. best keep an eye on these threads to see if the deal has been discontinued but at the moment it should certainly last until the end of july.

be warned that topping up by card can be hit or miss. sometimes it will refuse to accept a card. even o2 dont seem to know why. and card is the only way to put on £11. if you cant get your card to work youll have to try another card or put on £10 and use lend a quid, blag o2 chat or wait for the rewards bonus to come through. or ditch that sim and attempt another...

remember its the International Sim. the others no longer work or you risk the credit being converted into a bundle which cant be extracted to psn.

Am I correct in think the OP method is better than the £11 method, as you're spending £10 instead of £11 to get £20 back?

16 Jun 17 #48
I received my sim cards a little earlier (got the same offers at the back as dilatedpupils, the glossybox and 3 retro) - I called 4444 and added £11 via debit card and then got the text message confirming the top up and balance. I text FREE10 to 21500.
Just got a text 2 mins ago saying;

"Oops. You'll need to top up at least £10 to get your free £10 credit.

Just reach for your wallet, and then text FREE10 to 21500 again.

More for you.

Terms apply. To stop texts call 2220"

Anyone have any ideas? Should I just till later this afternoon and send the text again?
Taliban_Army
16 Jun 17 #49
@lil_bil,

yes just send another free10 text.

Basically, you sent the first text too quickly, so that the credit had not quite registered. Always wait at least 10-15 minutes after topping up, before sending the free10 text.
davejb
16 Jun 17 #50

Using the OP method to get £20 of PSN credit requires 2 wallet top up transactions, you can only do 3 a month, so for that month you can only do 1 more wallet top up from mobile. If you only want £20 a month then yes, it is cheaper, but longer.

Using the £11 method to get £20 of PSN credit requires 1 wallet top up, meaning 2 more can be done in that month, meaning for £33 you can get £60 PSN credit a month by mobile top up.

ive used the same card dozens of times from the official o2 topup page so using the same card twice shouldnt be a problem..

o2.co.uk/web…up/

if you cant do it from that link either then something fishy about that sim maybe. or could be o2 having one of their many server issues.

never tried the one in your link so cant vouch for whether that would qualify for the free credit. it should do as it just says you need to top up by £10.

The expiry of the SIM activation and the expiry of the free10 offer are usually different. This offer is usually for a couple weeks after the SIM was first ordered.

Awesome job, just used two sims to get £40 store credit. Had the same problems as Jamiedb, waited a couple of hours then the site let me top up normally. Spoke to webchat while having problems so have another card being sent out. Lovely.
davejb
18 Jun 17 #80
as hassansf says, the expiry date of the sim is a completely different thing. youve got 12 months to use it before they deactivate the sim and reissue the number. the free10 only works for 30 days after the simcard has been issued.. with an expiry date of jan 2018 that sounds like the sim was issued in january 2017. so the offer will have expired. its not really worth risking it. the international sims are free so just order a fresh international sim and top that up.

21 Jun 17 #97
Has anyone ever tried this with an international sim from an O2 shop? Do they offer them for free in store and if you picked one up there would FREE10 work? Could really do with another sim before the cheap PS+ runs out at midnight so just clutching at straws. Thought that £29.99 through the PS web store was for new customers only - didn't realise I could stack! Just bought one year taking me to Jan 2019 but would like to buy another while it's still cheap if I can
davejb
21 Jun 17 #98
thats a good question. cant remember anyone mentioning about store sims.. theorectically they should be identical..

remember that youre basically saving £5 though.. using the simcards youre paying £20 normally (half of the £39.99) compared to £15 while its on offer for £29.99.. and if youre driving to the store to pick up a sim youre saving even less when you factor in fuel and carparking..

plus if youve already bought one year, chances are there will be some kind of similar psn offer within the next 18 months. i really wouldnt get too worried about losing out on that £5 saving. lol.
hassansf
21 Jun 17 #99
It's worth a check. However, as far as I'm aware, they only give you the SIM in store, no packaging so you'd have to confirm with an advisor regarding the bonus credit

Does TCB initially track at £0.00, and then eventually tracks at £5.25 after a few weeks post topup?

Thanks.
SamSammeth0
22 Jun 17 #101
I am pretty sure there is not one single post here that clearly sums up the best way to make the most of this. It's fairly frustrating. I would be willing to write the thing if I could figure out what this actually is.

The most confusing thing is mentions of TCB/Quidco on the first page? Nothing on the cashback pages mentions anything about an International SIM, or anything to do with topping up £10 anywhere.

How do you get cashback when this post says to top up by phone? Thats the only transaction that occurs. Do you click through on either of the cashback sites when you order the SIM from the original "Get Deal" link? Or are people topping up online and then doing the rest of the steps?

On the original post that somebody linked in a comment, there are talks of a bonus £2 being applied as well which serves the process at some point: hotukdeals.com/dea…=42

Even if you check the post above which is apparently the "original", its still flaky and doesnt really explain the cashback thing. I am sure the answer to my question is scrawled across the many pages of comments, left cryptically but that's looking for a needle in a haystack.

Nobody has yet managed to tie all of the details together, and it seems like the most logical thing for someone to do
davejb
22 Jun 17 #102
on the tcb page the terms and conditions are further down the page. it says there you have to top up by £10 to get the cashback. under "good to know" section. really the cashback thing is just a bonus to the deal which is being explained here. you can only get cashback 3 times so its not a consistent thing like the free £10.

overall i think youre also slightly over complicating things. but to sum up.. you have to do this through topcashback to get the extra £5.25. so join topcashback. search for 02 free sim.. click on the "get cashback now " button. select the international sim.. wait for it to arrive. top up £10.. all done. youve now qualified for the £5.25 cashback.

then text FREE10 to 21500. wait an hour or two and youve got your free tenner. you now have £20 for the cost of £10.

as youve spotted theres also a free £2 that arrives about 3 or 4 days later. youll need this to pay the text to transfer the £20 to psn. or you can use the lend a quid method. or top up by £11 using a card. this part is explained in detail in the first post.
davejb
23 Jun 17 #103
it says something like £0 pending. then when its confirmed it should say £5.25.
SamSammeth0
24 Jun 17 #104
Great stuff, thank you. It was mostly to do with the lack of summary about what works in conjunction with what exactly, and I see it now "o2 free SIM" I was looking at the regular o2 mobile page - thanks for cleaning that up

davejb
25 Jun 17 #108
is it the international sim not a regular sim? it should work. if it doesnt then blag it.lol. its still going until the 12th july guarenteed as thats the date on the back of the envelope i have. contact o2 webchat and just pretend youve got an envelope with the offer on...
davejb
25 Jun 17 #109
yeh thats it. i think you can buy a few other things through o2 aswell.

you can add a phone number direct to a uk xbox and pay via mobile credit. its in the billing section somewhere. got rid of mine a while back so cant remember exactly where it is. not sure how many sims you can use or any limits though. probably need 10p for a text like the ps4.

josh971
25 Jun 17 #113
thanks again dave, I assume you mean here: o2vouchers.co.uk/ and I'm with you, looks good for gifts etc!

ah right. usually its 30 days from the date the sim was issued. the email is generally a reminder a week or two later. but if theres no date mentioned at all on the email then worth a shot.

ive just looked at one of the reminder emails ive got and i cant see a date on it either. although it does say "Pop it in your phone today, top up and text FREE10 to 21500 from your new number to walk off with an extra £10. " so they might argue you had to do it "today". you can use the 02 webchat for a quicker response.

Hi Dave, just another question if you don't mind :stuck_out_tongue:

You say you're only allowed to top up using 3 different mobile number each month; what is classed as a month? Would this be 1st June - 30th June, the date of my first top-up (I think it was 17th for me) or something else?

Thanks in advance

I topped up £11 over a week ago. Good job I did as I still do not have the extra £2 credit. Only got 90p left on SIM.

28 Jun 17 #119
Just realised that despite this being awesome, the most efficient you can use per purchase is £20, as Xbox doesn't seem to allow to use multiple payments from multiple phone accounts per purchase. So it's great for anything under £20

my 02 SIM came yesterday, can I still get horizon for £15 following this method.

thanks in advance
jamiedb
1 Jul 17 #121
No, deal ended a while ago back :disappointed: You'll still be getting £20 worth of PSN credit for £10 though and I'm sure Horizon will be on offer again sometime in the near future (maybe not £29.99 though)

Planning on using it in a few weeks time... Also around Christmas...

Those using Android should note once you buy a game and refund it, if you buy the game again the Refund option will not be available. Google's way of stopping people abusing the refund system.

You can ask the developer for a refund, but there is not guarantee you'll get it back.

And if you are forced to Download the game ensure you do it on Wifi.

Source- Experience :disappointed:

I just pay the extra £1, so top up £11. Much simpler to do and less risky.

20 Jul 17 #128
Which Sim did you use?

It only works with the International Sim.

Still works as I've just done 3 Sims this week (which is also the maximum permitted in a 30 day period)

£60 psn credit for £31 total outlay.......
rowan131
20 Jul 17 #129
I used the standard uk sim. So I just order one of those and use the same method? Also does the refund method work the same and I can top up 3 times a month with psn or with 3 different sims? Lastly can I use same delivery address, email, phonee and payment card?
Taliban_Army
20 Jul 17 #130
Yeah, you need to order the International Sim.

I don't bother with the refund method, on the 1st Sim I top up dialing 4444 and use credit/debit card to top up £11, then wait 20/30 minutes to allow the top up to register. Then send the FREE10 text to 21500. Wait for the confirmation, then add to psn.

After free £10 has been added, reply with Y to confirm, this costs 10p. Which will leave 90p on the Sim.

When you're ready to do Sim number 2, open up a Web chat on O2 website and ask for balance to be transferred to your number 2 Sim from 1st Sim (the 90p). They will ask for Sim serial numbers so keep the card. If they ask why, say your being harassed with unwanted texts from ex girlfriend.

Rinse and repeat.

I use same address, but alternate names and emails.

You can only top up via mobile 3 times in a 30 day period, doesn't matter what number is used.

Thank you so much for your help.Unfortunately I already topped up £5 twice to not waste the credit on the sim I got today but I can still do £20 with my international sim when it arrives

29 Jul 17 #135
Didn't work for me. Free10 not available. And when I topped up my psn wallet by mobile, it didn't ask me for a phone number or send any confirmation text, it just took the money either from my normal (3) phone or my c/card. I wont know which until I check my c/card statement or 3 phone bill.
My o2 balance is still £10 from when I topped it up using 4444. And I don't know how to use it up/transfer it to somewhere more useful. :-(
SamSammeth0
29 Jul 17 #136
Nice, is that still with the international SIM? I had done this a couple of times a couple of weeks ago and had no problems. Just to clarify, is it still the SIM ordered by clicking the GET DEAL button then?

This is the response I get for sending FREE10 to 21500

stranger1984
29 Jul 17 #138
Hi Sam, hmm, that is strange. I don't actually use the GET DEAL link to order my sim, I get them via the o2 website.
Check out my post at the beginning of the thread which will explain how I order.

Now saying that, the sim that I got the £10 applied too on the 27th was ordered received last week. Maybe it's to do with the actual sim expiry date?

I've used all my sims for this month but will let you know how I get on next month if no one else has post an update.

I had one arrive this week. But I've not had a text yet to offer the deal.. I was hoping to use it as soon as I got the email.
priyesh2013
30 Jul 17 #140
I tried it just now for a sim I ordered two weeks ago; it worked. You have to use the sim within 28 days from ordering the sim according to o2.co.uk/ter…ons.
SamSammeth0
31 Jul 17 #141
That's a point...this might have been the reason in all honesty!
davejb
1 Aug 17 #142
everything still working as normal... ive done 3 or 4 in the past couple of weeks... not had the deal on the back for any of them but the sim card that arrived today does have it on the back. says top up by 26th august for free £10. so its definitely fine until the end of this month at the very least..

ive always used the internation sim and i manually google the o2 website and get it from there. i choose the £10 version of the international sim but i dont think it matters..

did it today and had the free credit applied within the hour.
davejb
1 Aug 17 #143
are you doing this from the psn account website?

account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com

if youre doing it via the ps4 it might have automatically saved the number from a previous sim. from the website it should ask you every time for the number.
davejb
1 Aug 17 #144
you have 28 days from when the sim was ordered to put on credit and claim your £10. after that it wont work..

and you can only do it once per sim of course... someone else was trying to do it more than once and was upset it didnt work the second time...

As has been previously mentioned in this thread, you can only add PSN credit via mobile top ups, 3 times in any 30 day period.

You'll need to wait 30 days since the last top up was added to your PSN wallet.
fishfash
7 Aug 17 #150
I received a very similar message "Whoa, you've requested a lot of payments!"

With this message I made 4 transactions within the space of a few weeks and then had to wait 28 days from the date of the first transaction that was made.

I also received the same message you received using another PSN account and I believe your message relates to the value of funds added using the same sim. I tried another sim using the same PSN account and it went through.
Giiibbs
8 Aug 17 #151
Thanks. Sony have just emailed me and said the account was blocked for 24 hours topping up that way and to wait 24 hours from last attempt to try again.

According to their site the limit is £30 per 24 hours. And no monthly limit.
I'll let update how it goes

sorry call me a moron, but I don't understand this deal... correct me if I'm wrong..

You get a free 02 simcard.. you top up £10

Does messaging 21500 give you an extra £10?

Then you add those funds to the psn wallet? but you can only put £15 in instead of £20?

rinse and repeat?

:-S

Please reply I'd like to use this to get destiny 2 on pre-order..

many thanks guys.. .
hassansf
25 Aug 17 #161
Yeah that's about it.
As before, if the topup doesn't work for you over the phone do it online.
Remember to follow the Get Deal link to get the International SIM, Free Credit offer will be on the back.
If you're not sure about the Play Store steps or you're on iPhone, topup £11 to get the full £20 topup to your PlayStation Wallet.

if you top up £10 and then text FREE10 to 21500 and you will have £20.00 but you need £20.10p because after choosing the £20 top on your SEN acount, you need 10p to cover cost of the text you have to use to reply for confirmation of purchase

the easiest way is to top up £11 over the phone and then text FREE10 to 21500 and you will have £21.00, choose £20 top up on SEN account and after replying to the text, you will have £0.90 left over to do as you wish

if you dont want/need the sim that has £0.90 left, thn i will happily accept them and pay for postage, PM me

This deal looks great, even given the effort needed and the 3x usage limit on PSN

Can anyone confirm that this deal is still working???
fishfash
31 Aug 17 #171
The last Sim I ordered three weeks ago had an expiry for the free10 as of 26th August. However I understand this trick has been working for a few years.
FineToothedComb
1 Sep 17 #172
Wow, worked out great, used 3 SIMs to add £60 to my PSN wallet for a total of £31 expenditure. (And if the TCB works, I'll get most of that back, which would be crazy!). All in all, took less effort than I thought, so definitely an amazing deal!! I know I'm mucho late to the party, but long may it continue!!

Some points of note for any other newbies:

The international SIMs arrived one working day after ordering them. And after texting the FREE10 thing, it took about an hour each time to get the text back confirming the extra credit had been added.

I used the method of adding £11 first time around and then contacting livechat as I moved to the next SIM in order to have them transfer the remainder 90p over, and then did that again to transfer the 80p over to the 3rd SIM. Encountered no problems, they just ask you a few security questions and you're done (although one of the two times I did it, they said the phone number I was transferring credit from would have to be blocked henceforth, which obviously didn't matter at that point).

Ah, and as for actually adding the top-up each time, I had to use two different debit cards for the first two, and then it wouldn't let me use them or a completely different credit card the third time, so just nipped to the local shop to get a £10 top-up voucher over the counter, which worked fine too.
hassansf
2 Sep 17 #173
Glad you found success with this.
Quick note: if your card doesn't work when topping up over the phone just use O2 Online Top-up, works most every time.
FineToothedComb
2 Sep 17 #174
Yeah, I did actually try that on the second and third top-up (when it was just £10, not £11) but to no avail. Obviously, maybe it's just me. And I think I recall other comments in this thread talking about waiting 24 hours or something like that, not sure - and so maybe that's it. But I was being impatient, so just found another work around.

I had that same message only once before. Just ring them and blag it. Just say you've received your new Sim, and on the back was the text FREE10 to 21500 offer, as in the pic I posted, but tell them you got the message that you got when you sent the text , they can apply the free £10 credit.

These arrived this morning, and I had another 2 from yesterday, which I used to add £40 to my PSN account.

Still works perfectly fine.

May I ask, did you order the correct sim, it has to be the International Sim. Some don't have the offer on the back, but you can still send the FREE10 text and get the free £10.
