Coming to Aldi on Thurs 29 June as part of their garden stuff event. Comes in green, cream or anthracite (grey/blue). Cranks with a winding handle rather than grappling with it like an umbrella, and it tilts in various directions. Seems a very good price for that size with those features - gutted I paid more just last week for one very similar off Amazon.
**can anyone sort out adding a photo? never works on my phone :disappointed: **

Si senior. Parasol was good for what it was.

But the umbrella is the size I said it was, so when you say avoid I guess you mean the base.

Bought one today along with a matching patterned base. Seems good quality and the size is ideal for my veranda in my apartment. The base weight is 15kg and seems to be adequate.

I also bought both Parasol and the base from Aldi but after opening them decided to return both because:
- Parasol seemed of good quality but 2.2m diameter is too small for anything other a small table and chair. I ended up ordering the 2.7m diameter one from elsewhere.
- The base is adequate weight wise but the construction is of very poor quality. The parasol holding bit is only attached in a flimsy way and broke off easily. It couldnt even keep the smallish 2.2m umbrella straight. Also the main weight is some kind of concrete painted black, which ended up leaving marks on the patio.
In this instance it really was the case of you get what you pay for..Avoid if you can.

Anyone recommend a base for this? Instructions say to use a minimum of 40kg which seems excessive and quite hard to source.

Morrisons are still selling a 2.5m crank operated (non-tilt) cream coloured parasol, for £15.

never found one on 3 large stores in London in the last few months and despite the fact that it is their normal price and therefore not one off sold as clearance

not bad and good price, but 2.2m is not that big, but I guess it depends on the area you need to shade.

Good deal. You will need to buy a base separately if you don't already have one as the one pictured is not included. They sell it for an extra £15 (or get one from somewhere else if they're out of stock as the bases tend to adjust to accommodate different parasols).
