Personally, given the choice i'd rather go for a quality TN panel over IPS. I like deep blacks, something which you don't get with IPS and I've also noticed most IPS panels have a pretty harsh anti-glare coating making the image appear hazy. For me though, its VA all the way.

I have one of these and would recommend. a bit more expensive though there are other options for the model which might be a bit cheaper.
