I wanted a product red one but I got my Rose Gold one when they first came out. £629 for the 128gb version is a great price. However if you already have a 6S or a 7 like me just go to a site called dbrand and order the red skin for your phone its meant to be the same colour as this product red iPhone. I've just ordered one so hopefully $14 will be well spent lol.

Still £27 for 24months with no tariff? Add£10 for a half decent tariff that's £37, I'm sure redemption offered me 4gb tariff and phone for £49 upfront and £30 a month? Could of been 32gb tho? But having said that I could obviously pick any colour

Quite a decent deal if you need/want one right now, I have to say.
However do keep in mind that unless Apple have changed their schedule, you can expect the iPhone 8 (and/or 7S) in late September which is only 3 months away, at which point the previous model i.e. this one in all colours will get something like £70-100 knocked off it.

Someone please correct me if I have missed something.... comparing spec to a £300 Samsung Note 5 to this "Apple" iphone 7 plus:
Resolution:
1080 x 1920 pixels (iphone)
1440 x 2560 pixels (Note 5) - wins
Battery
2900 mAh - 75 hours (iphone)
3000 mAh - 84 hours (Note 5) - Wins
So in conclusion this expensive phone seems only better for taking selfies?
captain_cab
22 Jun 17#57
+1 for xiaomi, these are excellent spec phones plus very good price.
CoeK
22 Jun 171#58
Pointless to compare spec. The processor in this is better than the Samsung processor, it also needs less RAM. I'm also pretty sure both cameras will be better.
I use a pixel XL btw before you tell me I'm an apple fanboy.
captain_cab
22 Jun 17#59
Not at all - valid points thank you. I guess then the question is are these worth the difference of circa £400. Probably not.
CoeK
22 Jun 17#60
Clearly I don't think so or I would still use apple. But for someone that has a lot of apps etc within the ios ecosystem it might be more expensive to switch to android. So this is a good deal if you are a fan of apple.

22 Jun 17#61

How is it pointless? That's the whole point of it. Your paying 300 extra for an apple logo :o
CoeK
22 Jun 171#64
No you aren't. You are paying for the OS and the ecosystem. Apples mobiles processors are also outstanding.
I'm not saying I don't think they add a rather large profit margin I'm just saying that a phone is more than the sum of its parts.

Some very odd none-points being made here.
And before continuing, I have many Apple products, but don't use an iPhone, much preferring HTC phones, so please accept this as unbiased.
The Note 5 came out almost 2 years ago, and it's new price was around £600 (I don't think it was sold new in the UK, though I may be wrong), not £300.
The direct comparison from Samsung would be the S8, which costs around the same.
captain_cab
22 Jun 17#68
Im not limiting the comparison to only new phones im comparing the spec of a new iphone to the spec of a 2 year old phone, which you can buy new now for £300.
mmurdoch
22 Jun 17#69
Any reduction on latest Apple products gets a vote
Thank you for using caps and an exclamation mark to emphasise your point; which actually had nothing to do with what I was saying. My question at the time was whether or not the price in the original post was £559 rather than £629, not when it was going to be reduced.

Just got the Apple Red Iphone 7 128Gb on upgrade with EE for £42.99 a month if you dont want to pay for the handset upfront. (free handset) 10Gb Data and unlimited calls and texts.

22 Jun 17#81
Firstly, not everyone wants or needs a contract (like those fortunate enough to have a company phone contract, or are already on a very good sim only deal), and secondly, not everyone wants to be tied in for 18 or more often 24 months, and finally the payments are not interest free, the cost of money has simply been absorbed into the total contract value (which is a lot, LOT, more than buying the phone sim free).

A company as rich as Apple could say what percentage of each purchase goes to charity. It could.
It could lead the way for other smaller companies benefiting from their semi-charitable purchases and be clear and open about how much of the actual customer's money goes to where it is so heavily implied.
Just my 2 cents.
misterleoni
24 Jun 171#100
Another way of looking at it is how many other manufacturers are voluntarily donating proceeds from a handset to charity? It costs the same price as the other models, so it's not as if they're charging extra for it. Does it really matter how much they're giving away in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure the charity is very grateful for the support.

I feel sorry for all you brainwashed apple people. Your NOT cool
My contract including loyalty bonuses gives me unlimited texts, unlimited minutes, 18gb data, shared data SIM, iPhone 7 32gb with NO upfront cost for £32.99 pm. Allowing for the full retail price of the handset and the listed cost of the shared data SIM (£8 pm) I pay NOTHING for my airtime.

A company as rich as Apple could say what percentage of each purchase goes to charity. It could.
It could lead the way for other smaller companies benefiting from their semi-charitable purchases and be clear and open about how much of the actual customer's money goes to where it is so heavily implied.
Just my 2 cents.
