There is a metal ring over the striker making it harder to light. Personally I hate this design, but I don't use disposable lighters these days.

I've known a couple people like that and ultimately it's disrespectful thievery. Depending on what you're lighting it doesn't take more than a few seconds and to pocket it and walk away if the lender isn't looking is a d*ck move. I have a couple friends who still smoke and they each carry 2 lighters.

I paid £6.32 for 50 last week as I wanted the electronic ones as the flint always seem to go on my ones I get which aren't electronic and I end up binning them :disappointed:

To be fair, it's often the state of mind that one is in at the time. It used to be a muscle memory reflex to be put a lighter in my pocket after using it when I was ' away with the fairies' so to speak..

Okay fair enough I've never really smoked but it does seem incredibly poor form to me. If a person carries their own lighter often enough for it to be normal for them to pocket it afterwards surely it would also be normal for them to reach into their own pocket when they need a light rather than ask to borrow a second time? Of course my opinions are biased based on the couple people I used to know who were like that. The people you know I guess may be entirely wonderful human beings.
