I've tried the Altura fine filter, but the taste wasn't significantly better than the paper filters and it creates more mess / hassle when using it. So decided to go back to paper filters. Altura lived up to their promise too and refunded the cost as they have a money back guarantee, so was impressed by their customer service.
in my opinion makes my coffee smoother, yes more hassle scraping the coffee off it but hey ho small price to pay I guess.

Just pop it out into the sink and let the water wash over it. Done in no time and no scraping.

Does no one else rinse off and reuse ? One filter can easily last 10 brews.
Just me, then ...

Yep. Me too! I still have my original pack of filters - probably half down now. I make coffee daily and a filter lasts me a few days.

How does it create more mess? I use a metal one and the grounds puck is exactly the same as with paper, the only difference is that I take the metal filler away before I pop the puck into the food waste bin.
Filter just needs a rinse and a wipe, give it a shake and it's ready to go.

I find despite my best efforts when you remove the filter the grounds do stick to it and means a rinse in the sink. Either the paper filters I just pop the whole lot into food waste, wipe then store.
It's hardly a chore but as I said primarily I didn't think the filter improved the taste, certainly not enough to warrant the extra faff, minor as it is.

I also stick to the paper filters, just easier

I find it much easier to just pop in the bin, worth having to replace it each time

I picked them up yesterday from postie and they are the genuine items. Enough filters to keep me in coffee for a few year to come!
