Alcatel 20.45X Brand New for £9.99. This includes £10 topup. So that makes phone free.

In addition to what darren9030 said, you only need to make a single chargeable call or text once every 180 days to keep it active - so it can potentially be used for several years before it expires altogether.

useful for:
1. leave in glovebox for emergency calls
2. elderly relatives who don't understand the internet
3. kids you don't want browsing inappropriately.
4. spare for when you break your proper phone.

Definitely locked to O2, and as Cloudane says above, none of the usual suspects on Ebay are offering cheap unlocking for this model, and O2 seem to make you wait a year THEN charge £15 to the privilege, so in practice you'd have to accept being stuck with their rates if you bought this.
Note it could be a LOT worse than 5p/5p, and 2g connectivity for phonecalls at those prices is invaluable if you live out in the sticks like me and normally rely on hoping to catch a Three signal.
And on that note, I may consider similar/same too?, lol.
I know a few that could potentially benefit from a cheap as chips phone. :-)

Lol.
I still recall the day's (be they Symbian powered, or otherwise?), where a Phone, was pretty much what it said on the label?, eg. a 'phone's?.
Make calls, receive calls, make texts, receive texts, and/or if push came to shove then make mms's, and receive mms's too etc?.
These day's it's like we're pretty much/literally spoilt like I reckon?.
These contraptions we're pretty much allllll sticking before our faces these days to make/receive our phone calls on nowadays, are not phone's again? (or at least, NOT in its truest sense?), they're sodding COMPUTERS!!.
So, with that in mind, is it really any wonder that ...
We are ironically the mentality of 'will never be satisfied with anything' product of our own success?.
Next port of call, reinventing the empty yogurt cups and ball's of string for us to use as makeshift old Skool playground telephone devices?, hehehe (glass bottles, and elastic thread instead perhaps?, lol). ;-)

Good deal. Got mine for £17.99 (which included an enforced £10 top-up) in Tesco last month when I was messing about with dumbphones. Still wasn't a bad deal as you can use the Tesco top-up to get it unlocked - there's no cheap eBay unlock that I could find. If O2 let you do the same then yay, one unlocked 20.45X for a tenner
Can confirm it's 3G.
You can get things like Twitter and Facebook by searching for .vxp applications and putting them on a micro SD card.
It's quite a good option for anyone who feels a bit smartphone addicted - gives you that "lifeline" to the internet but only in a very basic fashion so you're not going to have your nose to the screen all the time (and absolutely no selfies) and are more likely to keep it pocketed and be all sociable and stuff. Another good option is the Nokia 216 - 2G but with Twitter and FB already built in and even with push notifications and a battery life measured in weeks if you don't do much with it. (Wouldn't bother with the 3310 personally as that's more of a nostalgia gimmick and you lose internet access in exchange for a naff remake of Snake).

Can confirm this is legit, if anyone had doubts.
Couldn't complete purchase through their shoddy site so went into my local O2 shop to ask if they could order it, since I was passing anyway.
Assistant ordered it for me via the online shop (otherwise no free inclusive airtime) then found me a brand-new sealed boxed one from her instore stock.
Came home and rang O2 CS on 0344 809 0202 (had to quote a "SSN" serial no. off the SIM) Took her a couple of mins with her supervisor to confirm offer existed then, no argument, instantly loaded £10 credit on SIM.
Result!

hi,anyone know of a similar offer ( basic phone) but which includes a charger please.
A spare USB cable lying around ?all you need is a USB plug, £1 at Poundland - go for this 20.45, it has better coverage with 2 & 3G and the keys are better spaced, battery life is much better with great capacity (even better if you switch off 3G when not needed)

Yes, I understand but I do think it's a bit cheeky to remove it from the box and then most likely sell it on. If I want a charger I will now have to pay them extra to get something which was already in the box and should have come with the device!
Also if I were to sell it on most likely I would have to include a charger with it which I now don't have and have to buy separately. It should also include headphones according to unboxing videos on YouTube maybe they removed those too?
I am not convinced they are doing this to save the environment but most likely to make a few quid extra.

A cursory Google search brought this up
https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/guides/how-to-unlock-a-phone-a-guide-to-unlocking-mobile-phones/
£15 to unlock, which comes out of your credit, but you have to wait out 12 months first.
Non-deal if you don't want to use O2.
Edit: another link and I find it interesting to note that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ on PAYG is permanently locked to O2! Atrocious! That kind of consumer-hostile behaviour steers me well away from O2, and I hope it doesn't spread.
