Yeah, AOL could be the problem. If you haven't one already, I'd suggest creating a new Gmail email account & trying with that: https://www.google.com/gmail/. Also, make sure to create an account you're not going to change (for a while at least), as once you register an email address with Geabest, you cannot change it. Instead, they'll ask you to open yet another account (happened to me).
Delldoy
2 Jun 17#68
Yea email address is fine. ...You think maybe AOL mail don't like them??
Crossbow
2 Jun 17#67
Are you sure you inputted your email address correctly when registering? Just one character off & you won't receive it. I'd suggest re-registering afresh & making doubly sure you enter the correct email address this time.
Also, may I ask who your ISP/email provider is? Certain domains (including Gearbest's) may be automatically restricted / banned by them.

I daily a Xiaomi RedMi Note 3. The device itself is quite good for the price you pay. I personally am not a fan of MIUI and flashed Lineage OS over that.
About 3 months ago my USB connection to PCs broke (Hardware fault), but the phone would charge fine. As the phone was still under warranty, I initiated this process and ran into hell with Xiaomi support... I had to contact the originally person I purchased from, who wouldn't respond. Xiaomi offered no support on this either. In the end, I gave up and just use a phone that cannot transfer files via usb.
If you're planning on buying a xiaomi, just be warned that they don't have good support/warranty.

It would take more troubleshooting to pinpoint the problem but I doubt it's to do with B20. Not working on O2 4G suggesting lack of B20 seems more like a false positive as it should have it. If 3G doesn't work either, then perhaps APN settings. If 3G does work, then maybe the "Prefer network type" setting may help. Another member mentioned here<< that a deselect and reselect of "Prefer LTE" helped with their Global Version Note 4. In a previous comment, I mentioned someone else had an issue with data on 3 SIM on a Redmi 3S. They couldn't get data at all regardless of the phone's band support and their previous phone was iPhone in which it still worked, so it might be that the SIM is somehow tied to their iPhone.

I have two of these phones in the house; I too would like to know if there's a software check that can be run to test if B20 exists.
One of mine arrived on 8.2.1.0 MAMMIEA and has a bug where the sim will not register for up to 20 minutes after a reboot. It's been logged with Xiaomi but am waiting on an OTA update.
@WhiteishNoise - do you have the same bug on yours or is mine a phone fault rather than a ROM fault, I wonder?
I'm thinking of manually flashing 8.2.9.0 but wasn't sure where to get an official ROM for it - there are *so* many links
Outside of the small bugs; I'm impressed with the handset. Had to get non tempered glass screen protectors for them because the edge of the screen protectors interfered with the scrolling.

See this thread<< for when Redmi 4A Global Version was first noticed. If you read the comments, some people are saying it is a fake ROM, because the Global ROM is not released yet. You'll also find threads for Redmi 4X Global Version with similar comments about the ROM. See here<< and also here<< but like for the Redmi 4A, the replies saying fake are user deductions based on what is available on MIUI downloads. If you want to believe it is vendor ROM you'll find comments that agree with it, but that is inconclusive. In terms of identifying unofficial or official ROM, the build number format and letter code suggests it is official. Plus it is sealed with this ROM installed.
They haven't mentioned whether the ROM version they've stated is the only one they can get, or if they've even tried OTA update. However on this previous Redmi Note 4 thread<< people stated being able to update to different ROM versions. At the time MIUI downloads showed 8.1.5.0 as the latest but people were getting beyond that. It wasn't until weeks later that MIUI website finally updated to having 8.2.5.0, skipping past the intermediate iterations that others had been getting so the ROM version that MIUI downloads shows can't always necessarily be used to make deductions about whether the current ROM is unofficial or not.
I doubt it's a 2nd SIM slot related issue. They should be aware of being unable to access 4G simultaneously. They asked about it on the thread I mentioned in my previous reply. Comment here<<

You will be able to distinguish the Band 20 version without EAN. The B20 "Global Version" will have a red "Global Version" tag like this:

All i can think is that whoever you bought that off have sent you the wrong version there are 4 variants of redmi 4x they are explained here link https://www.kimovil.com/en/where-to-buy-xiaomi-redmi-4x now if you highlight the first one you 2gb / 16gb and look at the 4g bands supported there is no band 20 800mghz then highlight the next one 3gb /32gb there also is no band 20 800mghz then highlight the next one 3gb / 32gb GLOBAL you will see there is band 20 800mghz then highlight the last one 4gb / 64gb there is no band 20 800mghz so i think whoever you purchased yours off have supplied you with the wrong variant if they said it was global

The Global Version with Global ROM pre-installed was released before the Global ROM was made available for download on miui.com. This happened for the Redmi 4A too. When it was eventually put online, it was an updated version than what is factory pre-installed. See here<< Global Version sealed box, that shows 8.2.1.0 after initial setup.
