I've now started to do the main weekly shop at Aldi/Lidl with smaller top-ups at the bigger supermarkets rotating which one I go to each time - that way, I can still buy my must-have items that Aldi/Lidl don't stock and still save money too.
On a separate note, there has been an explosion of vegan alternatives in all supermarkets recently and I feel like I just can't eat fast enough.

Thanks OP, heat added. Aldi are really stepping up the game, so many tasty new vegan treats at good prices too.

I don't even know why people bother going Tesco anymore? I suppose some just like paying more for lower quality.

It's also ethical side of things, some vegans I know won't buy products containing palm oil such as various nut butters etc.

Isn't most quality dark chocolate vegan? Aldi's own Moser brand dark choc and Heidi chocolate that you get in Asda doesn't seem to contain milk products. I'd be interested to know as I have bought them for vegan friends after seeing them mentioned on vegan blogs.

They may not state vegan as in the allergy section it may say possible contain traces of milk, soya, nuts and other known allergy products. This is usually because it's produced on a line with other products containing allergy ingredients, so milk or dairy for vegans to avoid. Some vegans won't mind this but some will totally avoid chance of contaminated products. This is why a lot products the ingredients appear vegan but it won't be stated to be.

These are fantastic, it's just such a shame those who can't eat normal chocolate have to pay double the price heat OP
