Great deal for premium Rolawn Medallion Turf. Usually around £3.50 a roll so decent saving to be had for those who need more than 86 rolls (which is min purchase).
Free delivery too.

Thanks didn't think of that. How long would it take for the grass to grow through so the soil isn't visible after flipping it over?

I don't think he meant flip it over but really turn it around 180 degrees, all turf are rolled one way and you unroll it in the desired direction. I recommend watching videos on Youtube on how to lay turf if it is your first time. After the ground has been prepared, it takes about 4-5 hours for a novice to lay 50 rolls of turf with second person assisting.

i wouldnt have anything less myself, ive never bought it through TP though, we had a local sole trader supplier

Is there anything else you'd recommend that's just as good or better? Thanks

Stupidly went for Turfonline rather than this deal to my cost.
Grass was terrible condition and about 10 badly damaged strips but they seem to be ignoring me,
Won't be using them again in a hurry

Rolawn Medallion is the award winning turf. consider it free at this price. I used Travis Perkins to buy it 3 years ago. Absolutely amazing service. and the Turf quality was awsome.

I need topsoil to bring up an area of 2mx5m x 15cm deep. Maybe I should grow the grass longer as the online calculators came back as 2+ tonnes of topsoil !
FatalSaviour to ashman33

You'd be looking at 1500 litres (more if you want it a little more compacted of course).
I've actually found Homebase's prices for individual bags of top soil @ £2.86 for 25l to not be too badly priced (and the topsoil is good quality). 1500 / 25 = 60 bags. 60* £2.86 = £171.60 if you did want to raise the levels...
Hope that helps!

Used to work for them in both hands on labour work and junior management.
Up here in the north Travis seems to particularly suffer, they are massive down south, they cannot compete on price or service against the independent merchants up here in the north.
Chronic staffing levels in branches.
Delivery an absolute joke, you wouldn't think that toolstation, wickes and Keyline are group companies amongst others, they seem to be much better oiled machines than TP.

Travis perkins, understaffed, overpriced, overworked staff.
Disgraceful service by a bloated top heavy company.
Poor working conditions and disillusionment throughout most branches.
Cold on the deal.
Same price if not cheaper elsewhere.
Price isn't bad but delivery service is abysmal not enough resources to provide an adequate service.
Buy from a dedicated turf supplier where it's cut from the field on a morning and delivered same day.
Travis perkins 3 day turnaround at best.

TP have the mindset of a single premises yard - happy with the few customers they get who they can charge extortionate prices to. Not moved with the times. Can't remember if Wickes bought them or other way around - anyway Wickes miles better.
Crikey just looked re companies - sort of shows that Travis Perkins sites are just a pee take out of purchasers who go there. They own Toolstation (see why in Wickes) which can be very cheap. Infact Toolstation are cheaper than Wickes - You can buy X in Wickes for £5 but in same store you can go to Toolstation and buy same product for £4 - weird business model.

Wickes is the alternative to B&Q & Homebase.

Although I posted this deal yesterday, I purchased 90 rolls from TP just over a week ago at the same price. The turn around is 3 days from order. It is worth noting the rolls are delivered "fresh" from Rolawn (Yorkshire) in the morning to the local TP branch. After that you are at the mercy of the TP delivery team to get the turf delivered to the door.

I so need to do a 5 square metre patch in the middle of the garden where the kids trampoline used to be that had killed all the grass, and a old flower bed next to it that needs to be turfed. Putting it off every year as it just seems like too much work. I've put some really strong weed killers on the flower beds but the old flowers and weeds come back after a year. Reluctant to lay turf after ive used industrial strong weed killer as well. Any pointers/tips from the HUKD titchmarsh?

Agreed with you about TP pricing especially when they provide a quote its nowhere near trade point, jewsons, wickes. selco or local merchants however they will come down to beat or match others if you ask as i always do and will often chuck free delivery in.
a rep called me once for a survey and when i mentioned the above pricing / haggling he said he had heard that more than a few times so its obviously a tatic they employ
