You will probably be more upset to know that the one you bought is more inferior product. The one in this deal also extends wifi range so you dont have to use it just for wired connection as the one you bought...sorry

I have a couple of these. They work great for gaming, surprisingly.
However are shocking when trying to watch HD TV on my YouView box, with constant drops. Just a warning if anyone was wanting to use it for their TV box.
Good price.

Use mine for the PS4, gaming, Netflix, sky. All work amazing with no dropouts.

I have been using these for nearly a year (Actually I got the older 500Mbps ones but updated the firmware). They are great. I have five of them scattered allover the house so no wifi deadspots at all.

Does the wifi range extender take the signal from the electric circuit and broadcast it or does it pickup the modem/router wifi signal and broadcast that? Anyone know?

Cheers OP. Picked up 2 at Westwood Asda, Belfast. Priced on shelf at £45 but checked with CS who scanned and told me they were £12. Happy days.

Thanks for the reply :-) Is it the case that if you set the TP-Link wifi booster to clone the router/broadband's wifi, then it just picks up the wifi signal and rebroadcasts it (and therefore slows it down?) and if you set up the booster to broadcast wifi with its own wireless name/password, then it doesn't pick up the router/modem's wifi so doesn't reduce the router/modem's wifi speed? Is that right? Sorry if these are basic questions! I can't find a strightforward answer.

In my local the AV500's were £12 and the AV600 were full price, I ended up leaving them though anyway as I wouldn't use them.

The team valley retail park ASDA living in gateshead had 3 of these in today for £12 each but was the older 500mbps version that can be updates to the 600mbps version using a firmware update.
