Okay, saw these on GAME and thought they were worth a post. As a user of a DX Racer, I actually think these look pretty decent for the money. They recline back 180° which is a must for me (Bad back) and it totally helps. Not a fan of a lumbar cushion but they can be removed. Sitting for hours at a desk can be a killer, so being able to make adjustments is always welcomed.
Anyway, overall these are worth a look, they are over £100 everywhere else from what I can see and offer a decent amount of options for the dosh.

WTF ever happened to office chairs. All I ever see are these ridiculous, gaudy plastic bits of tat. I'll do everyone here a favour: save your money, visit IKEA, buy a MARKUS for ~£120, never buy one of these pieces of crap again.

The T on the branding should be substituted for W because you're consigning yourself to self-service only having one of these in your house unless you're already married.

I bought this chair from game yesterday, should be arriving tomorrow. These types of "gaming" chairs come from the same manufacturers. When you buy the DXRACER version of this chair for £250+, you're literally paying for just the name. I found that out when I was looking on Alibaba for stuff and thought I'd look for a chair. The chairs actually cost $40-50 EACH, then the companies have their names stitched on the material. So, if it's DXRACER, TANK, or GTRacer, it's all the same chair from the same factory with the same standards.

Picked my DX up for £140 on Amazon Italy a little over a year ago. They do drop from time to time, but yeah I don't think I would have paid full price at the time. As above though, I don't regret my purchase at all and would get another for the missus if they drop again.

Base where you actual sit, it starts out comfortable but over the course of around three months it soon just became hard as rock. The other issues I can live with as they are minor, but just the lack of padding/comfort on the base make it nigh unusable.
But these chairs I really don't get it, most people who've sat in bucket style seating in cars don't find overly comfortable unless they are of a smaller build/height, so is this kind of chair targeted at teenagers?

I could get mine. But faux leather looked better. But turned out to be bad choice.

I have the same chair, comfortable! To sit in it a long back does not become numb, good ergonomics. The main thing is to choose the right weight for your height, weight and dimensions. I used to buy a table from this portal dxmadracer.com and then ordered a suitable model on ebay.

Agree with kiora. Bought an Ikea office chair thinking I was getting a good deal but they are very uncomfortable for long days. i work from home and I'm sat in one for over 9 hours a day. Cripples me.
I'm seriously looking at the DXRacer chairs now as they seem to have a high hourly use rating (if there's a name for this rating, I don't know what it is).

Another Markus owner here (3 years+) and it's great for the first few months, but after that honeymoon period it's all down hill and uncomfortable from then on. Still debating what to replace it with but these so called "gaming chairs" are either cheap rubbish or way over price for a chair. Does no one make a middle ground nice looking chair with a high back for a fair price?!

Serious question, which bit has become uncomfortable?

the chair is made of chipboard with plastics stapled to it. The foam is thousands of chunks of chopped up foam 2nd hand. Do not spend less than £180 on a reclining chair or you can guarantee some really bad corners have been cut. A 15 stone guy would snap this in one day.

I had nice chair for 150 and it was nice and comfy. It got rotten in my garage had no room for it in new flat. And second hand materials is good. Recycling is a way to go! How many times do you think were reprocessed all plastic packaging you buy (milk bottles etc)?

The markus is crap and not worth the money. There are only a few bolts holding the back onto the base and eventually they break and you end up nearly breaking your neck falling backwards out of the chair.
I'll certainly never be buying a markus again that's for sure!

I've been looking for a more streamlined chair like this. Used to have a massive office chair that takes up quite a bit of room.
I just wish these "gaming" ones weren't so plastered in logos or branding. The black one doesn't seem so bad though.
Any other users bought one of these or recommend something similar?
at this price point you are not going to get the 'best' quality but I simply dont accept that they will all fall apart within a couple of years
I have been using a £30 office chair I bought from viking direct for over 10 years now & its still fine if a bit tatty - I weighed between 14 to 16 stone during this time - when I use it in its reclined position the top of the chair is supported by a wall which I think has helped prolong the life of the metal recline mechanism underneath the chair that

Not sure it's for naps, haha. But I have fell asleep in mine before. If you ever get chance to try a chair with a 180 degree function, do! Whatever the chair might be, I can't do without it now. I need the varying angles to keep my back from giving me pain and no one position keeps me comfy for long. I paid twice this for my DX and I don't regret it at all.

Don't know.much about gaming chairs and thought it may have just been over priced on that site, plus it seems to be discontinued everywhere else.

oh interesting. id have to have a try. so you could lay back at 180 degrees and take a nap? is that the purpose of the 180 function?

its assuming that 90 degrees is the normal sitting position and 180 degrees leaving it flat like a bed

Jules_HT to cannycoyote

I was wondering that- so it goes from straight up, you wind it back and back, past the horizontal (90 degrees), and round so it's hanging directly down from the back of the seat? Figured I was missing the point..

I have had one of these for over a month and also have a back, shoulder and neck injuries. I can confirm that they are comfortable and the adjustable cushions are great lumbar and neck supports. I use a slight recline and it also has a tilt function which helps me. Was easy to assemble and arrived very quickly. There are better, more expensive chairs out there but at this price I can't complain.
