Heads just blown up. How's this for a throwback? I'm sure we all had one back in the day? If you didn't, it's £1.07 delivered, you won't know caring for something, until you care for your virtual pet.
There were other options available around the same time, I'm sure the Sega Dreamcast had one for the VM unit? (Sonic Adventure, maybe?)
Buy one, slap it on your keys and tend to it. Best £1.07 spent today.

Even though these were less than £20, we had to plead our parents for a tamagotchi! These days you see 6 year olds with iPhone 7's as a starting school present

I bought a bunch of these as stocking fillers for friends and family old enough to remember them the first time round. They are pretty suicidal **** apparently and need far more tending than the proper ones did, so nobody could keep theirs alive for more than a few hours. Made for a great Christmas Day competition!

20 May 17#53
I bought one of these. It's awful. the slightest impact crashes it. The reset button is very sensitive so you won't keep a single pet for more than a few hours.
I mean, it was only a pound, but still fairly shocking.

Tamagotchi's were banned at my Primary school as well.
They were way too much of a distraction, and when they died kids were really upset.
Pogs also got banned after arguments, fights & scrambles broke out. Mostly because of the scrambles that occurred when the lid of one of those tubed Pog containers would come off and 100 Pogs would fly all over the playground
Every game of football, or chase, or whatever, would stop and everyone would be screaming & shouting "SCRAMBLE!" and stampeding around collecting
Sometimes a few kids would end up getting hurt in the melee - and thus Pogs were banished.
In a way that reminds me of HUKD when a major misprice is posted.
