Good price, have a Bosch one, which needs a pouch as it came with a metal can, the Bosch feels really fragile too. Purchasing one of these as my go to device and even if it gets a bit of dust on it whilst DIY'ing, wont worry me.
Was going to buy an unbranded ebay jobby for £25 but have now seen this.

Can you measure building or tree heights?

do these measure from the back end of the device, or the point the laser comes from? I assume it must effectively be from the back of it.....reading from the laser start then adding x mm to compensite for item depth

It reads from the back but has an option to change it
Here's a review of an 80m Gearbest clone (looks almost identical, had a peek on there, prices aren't as cheap for the 40m options) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSg2DkWPyJE (discusses longer distances, area, minimum-maximum measuring, etc).

Yes it does. There's a good YouTube video I came across for it online yesterday. Just search the model in YouTube.

Just ordered through prime, now £17 with code...unexpire?
I'm not sure if the Amazon reviews are real or not, but I'm pretty happy with this £16 purchase (consistent and accurate measurements in a pretty sturdy package and with -potentially- useful advanced features which I doubt I'll ever use).
