Humble Bundle's May 2017 monthly bundle has just been revealed, which also prompts the announcement of the headline game for June 2017. Subscribe now (or pay early, for existing subscribers) for instant receipt of a Steam key for Stellaris. When the full bundle is revealed at the start of June, you'll receive a further seven games (most of which should come with Steam keys).

The base price for the bundle is $12.00, which currently works out at £9.26 (note that if you pay by PayPal, their currency exchange fees will increase this slightly). For new subscribers, if you've recently purchased one of the weekly bundles, you should be eligible for a 10% discount on the first month.

This logic makes absolutely no sense, considering £9.26 is quite a bit lower than £15, plus you get all the other games. If you're not interested in Stellaris at all maybe that's what you should have said. Also I don't know what you expect from Humble, giving high quality indie games is what it does, if you're not interested in "rubbish" indies at all, then subscribing in the first place is quite strange, not that 'indie' is a genre, and if you actually tried the games maybe you'd like them :man:.

If anybody is penny counting, you can buy the bottom tier of an active bundle, and get 10% off, which is a saving of around £0.07 :man:

Contender for best month yet as far as I'm concerned. Metrico+ was the only game offered that I hadn't heard of before.

So how does this work, do I buy now and get Stellaris right now - or do I have to wait till the end of the month where I get Stellaris and some other games too?

Buy now, get Stellaris immediately. The remainder of the games are then revealed and become available on 2 June.

Reviews of Stellaris:
Stellaris Metacritic: 78% (57 critics, 8 from 597 users), Steam: Very Positive 87% (12031 reviews)

Undertale looks like it would have been good last month.

That's me cancelling my subscription for the month then. A mediocre Paradox strategy games which can be had for £15 from cdkeys, and it'll be accompanied by another set of rubbish (unless you're into them) indie games worth nothing. The $40 RRP is really a joke.

I know we can't always expect genuine AAA games all the time through Humble, but it's quite hit and miss with the leading titles, and this is a miss for me.

However, decent deal if you wanted this base version of the game.

What so you are complaining because the lead title in the bundle can be bought from more from a discount games site? I'm not sure of your logic, they have a bit saying the MSRP is $40, that's true it is $40 MSRP that's what it costs on steam right now.

Also Stellaris is an amazing game, far from mediocre and they have done very well improving it in updates.
reddragon105 to rofldinho
6 May 17 #29
Are you kidding? You've just argued that £9.26 for a £15 game plus a few more is somehow a bad deal.
You could literally buy Stellaris right now and then immediately sell it somewhere for around what you paid for it, meaning that you'll get whatever the surprise games are next month effectively for free - and, sure, it may be a bunch of games that you don't want (which doesn't make them rubbish, by the way), but there also might be a game that you really want and you will have gotten it for free.

Ah man I bought this two days ago for £15, I know its only a fiver difference but I've been humming and hawing about signing up for the humble bundle for a while, but was put off by the headline games the last two months. Really enjoying Stellaris so far tho so its not all bad

However much I chastise Stellaris for being deeply flawed and unfinished, its definitely worth £9.
Moreover the more sales it makes, the more likely it'll progress toward becoming finished!
Joshimitsu91
6 May 17 #26
Are you sure that is still allowed? Because I checked back yesterday after the May bundle unlocked and a lot of my unredeemed codes now say "Already in steam library" and the button is greyed out :disappointed:
Mark43
6 May 17 #27
May was the first bundle I've ever signed up to and very happy with it. This seems well worth it if you want Stellaris but think I might skip it, I just never managed to get on with the other Paradox strategy games so don't think this is for me. Heat added though.

u cant sell humblebundle game keyes. just saying......they can ban you.

Glad I cancelled my sub before the April bundle. It was pretty disappointing IMO.... game got replaced for a comic!?
All of the games could be had for <£1.50 each from G2A, apart from Dirt Rally ofc... but that's not my type of game.

I've been selling majority of my keys from my monthly bundles since the first one, and the generic bundles.
nathan3007

6 May 17 #36
Actually the comic was in addition, not as a replacement. There was 8 games which could be activated through steam, plus the comic.
Also, you do realise that the games are that price on G2A because people who buy the keys which you've sold them, resell them on that site for a profit. They aren't that price prior to the bundle being available.

was in doubt on purchasing this game, reviews do not convince me. however take the plunge and it turns up I love it. I love the mysterious tech tree and random challenges. it makes every new game feel different. without realising I played this all night
Mark43 to fr3dy77_sp33d
7 May 17 #39
Does it include a decent tutorial? I've struggled with other Paradox titles as I've felt lost even after the tutorial, just wondering how easy it is to get into.
FRZ
7 May 17 #38
How would they know though? If i buy it discounted and sell it on at a later date isn't it legally my property to do with as i please, i know they've tried making it so all purchases are automatically linked to your Steam account but they still allow you to "gift" to a friend and you can see the actual key so they aren't completely against you sharing keys around.
TehJumpingJawa
7 May 17 #40
I wouldn't rely upon in-game tutorials to teach you how to play Paradox games; much better to watch one of the many youtuber/streamer tutorial videos.

As for Stellaris.... conceptually it's one of the simplest of Paradox's titles, though simultaneously its user interface is one of the worst.
TehJumpingJawa
7 May 17 #41
Humble FAQ says resale is strictly prohibited..... but I can't find any mention of it in their Terms of Service.

The European Court long ago judged that the resale of unlimited period software licenses for which a one-off fee was paid, is legal.
Though that's not particularly relevant for a key, as you haven't agreed to any software licenses until the key is redeemed. Yet to redeem the key, you have to agree to Steam's own Terms of Service, and those do explicitly prohibit the transfer of Steam accounts.

It's all a farce really; the industry is built this way to circumvent financially inconvenient consumer protection laws.
Mark43
7 May 17 1 #42
Thanks, yeah that's what I've read about some of their previous games. Maybe I'm lazy but I don't feel I should need to watch videos to find out how to play a game, if its designed well. I want to be able to pick up the basics in the tutorial and then learn the complexities as I go. I'm guessing this isn't for me.

you are loling now, but when they will remove illegally obtained STEAM games from your library or even worse, ban your STEAM account u will ask yourself a question. was it really worth risking my $1000 STEAM games library for $12? yup, thought so. all it takes is for humble bundle to exchange info with STEAM and u r fried.
Illusionary
8 May 17 #45
While I'd not particularly encourage key selling, Humble Bundle themselves acknowledge that they have no enforcement powers. In particular, they can't share the data that they have about individual users with third parties (such as Steam) without consent. There's a difference between illegally obtained keys (as frequently sold via G2A and Kinguin) and keys sold in contravention of a specific merchant's terms.

8 May 17 #46
if you subscribe today don't you get May's titles, and June's lead title immediately? So you don't miss out on This is The Police.
Illusionary
8 May 17 #47
No. You need to subscribe before a given month's full contents are revealed in order to receive that bundle. Subscribe now and you'll receive the June bundle in full - the early unlock now and the remainder at the start of June.

Really enjoying Turing test, puzzles are easier than portal but it means the pace of the game keeps up. Looks great and runs like butter as well.

this game is actually easier to learn, well at least for me. there are some areas that needs research e.g. how to balance your empire so that the influence is not deficit. it does have learning curve and requires tuning to get the balance right. each race has its own technology to make it more complex  but I find it part of the fun. I think this game goes all the way among the top of legendary games on my book (altough I'm sure many will disagree  )
