Probably one of those, "hopefully it will help one person" scenarios, as I can't imagine many don't have it, or have played it.
Anyway, it's free this weekend guys. Enjoy

Best FIFA ever made! I just need two bronze trophies for one of the DLCs to complete the game and DLC trophy set to 100%! Heat added Buzz.

free because the servers are actually appaling these days
i have played this game for over a year and recently, the server outages have been disgraceful
still a great game though, certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a competetive game of...."car football"
play it..you will love it...i just hope they sort the servers out soon

A poor man's FIFA. A sports game for people who take pride in saying they don't like sports.

nope, a £15 game that is superior in every way, i actually did not purchase FIFA this year for the first time in about 6 years because of this game

This, so much this. 6 weeks ago they acknowledged the problem and said they were working on it. No change. But for free, it's great, just avoid the multiplayer.

I have it on Xbox but Steam you say? Maybe I'll grab some of that action too.

An esports game for people who like being good at skill based games, rather than feeling like they are good at things.

Free-to-play for the duration of this weekend only, right? For a moment I thought it was free to own. Might help to word it as to avoid ambiguity.

Superb game and one of the few these days with a local split screen option. Too far and few between like they think no-one has mates round anymore.

When I first tried this game I thought it was madness. Took me an hour to understand how skill-based it actually is. Sunk over 300 hours into it now, still struggle to keep my Gold rank (not very high), and don't see myself getting bored yet. Spent a tenner on the game and probably double that on dlc and keys over the months, still feel like I've got plenty for my money. Highly recommend people give it a download and a try. Protips: default controls aren't great so change them to your liking, try spending most of your gametime in ballcam, learn the different flips, use defensive rotations to avoid hitting the ball when you shouldn't.

Been wanting to try this game for ages so great pointer thanks. (Couldn't justify buying it yet due to huge Steam backlog). Tried it for 1/2 hour last night and it's as good as I expected and will only get better with experience I reckon. Will still wait for it to hit sub-£5 though!

I played the game for a few hours, matchmaking is bad, keeps putting me in games as a rookie v high level/veteran/pro. Then we start losing, then my team leave and I get bots as my team mates and lose further.
That's because you're playing unranked. It's where you're going wrong.
You need to get yourself playing Ranked. It will establish an MMR for you and put you with players of similar skill.

Interesting , so if I go ranked i take it I will face only people with rookie ranking too who are new to the game ? Most games i play with a ranked system pitch against whoever is available opposed to level

Free to play? or free to download and keep? This is unclear

Free to play only over the weekend... has finished now

You have to do 10 placement games first. These games it will kinda just pitch you against anyone and everyone (it still tries to get people near your skill though)
After this, you will be given a ranking, and a hidden MMR rating. Keep playing a few more games to properly even out your ranking. And you will then be playing against people who have a very similar skill rating as you. It will then continue to match you with people around your level/skill. The game does have proper matchmaking, it doesn't just pair you against anyone.
