You'll be at the centre of the action, living every detail of extraordinary new worlds - and you'll feel like you're actually inside the game.
The camera is required for the virtual reality headset to function, the camera is not included in the solus headset box. The camera is required to track the LED markers on the front and rear of the headset. This VR headset is not for use by children under age 12

This is a really awkward deal considering Farpoint is absolute **** without the Aim controller and you can't buy the Aim separately in the UK.

Around 10 feet by 6 ! that is a lot of space, especially considering a lot people said the first Kinect which had a recommended area of 6 feet was to much and were for 'USA sized houses ' .

Yeah OK, "proper" HDR 4K TV for gaming, (8 year old almost Kuro-level Panny Plasma for movies), PS4 Pro (pre-ordered, day one), previous PS4 vanilla was day one model, previous PS3 and PS1 were also day one's plus a Vita (OLED). I don't hold back on buying tech, I just buy it at the right time to get the best equipment and avoiding buyer's remorse.
I'm grateful to those who have bought a PSVR as otherwise Sony wouldn't have got the message that it's tech that needs a future, but I'm done with trawling the internet for hacks to get hardware working the way it should on day one, been there too many times with other kit.
Now please stop yourself from posting more because you're embarrassing yourself by trying to make a point that just isn't there with me.

You need a lot of space for PSVR right?
JezJezJez to olivermills6
24 May 17#50
No not really. Ideally games like Farpoint are best played standing up with 2-3 feet space around you, but I've also played it sitting down with very little space (though enough to spring the aim around of course )
Farpoint (with the AIM controller) is absolutely amazing btw....
moneysavingkitten to olivermills6
24 May 17#59
This is the recommended play area:
Most games you end up sitting. The rest you probably need about enough space to be able to fully spread your arms in each direction.
WhoThrowsAShoe
23 May 171#41
There are very, very few switches that aren't prohibitively expensive that support 4K HDR 60hz 4:4:4 *facepalm*
Besides which, why should I buy extra hardware to support something that Sony were only just shouting about the month before the PSVR release (HDR) ? I'm not going to encourage Sony's ineptitude thanks, I'll wait another few months for a version to come out that works properly.

Yes I liked the little platformer.. way too short but it's got to have got Nintendo thinking! Surely a Mario VR game has to be inevitable now  farpoint and res7 should have been the main draws to this system for me but in the end they've actually put me off :s I, like many folks have the money now to get the whole setup but are waiting for the price to come down/a decent bundle but after having a night with it I'm in 2 minds :/
I didn't have a go of headmaster so can't comment.. really loving zombies chronicals at the minute
Mathaeus
24 May 17#49
In the res7 demo you can't move from one spot (your tied up in a chair) which was great I loved the demo, the same could be said for the game.. as long as your NOT moving it's alright..
Until dawn the rollercoaster shooter was good.. not great but for me was the best experience on VR
zackariah to Mathaeus
24 May 17#51
Have you played Headmaster? Or in the playroom VR there is a platform game (it aint big) where you control a character? I'm interested as you have said the two games that most people think are good... aint  I liked Hedmaster (unexpectly) and the other day when I decided to take a look at playroom VR I found the platform game really good.
Mathaeus
24 May 17#48
Res7 was terrible too just in case anyone was wondering what I thought of that
I played res7 without VR and loved it so much I played it through 4 times so was really looking forward to seeing it in VR but it just doesn't work the same.. I'd go as far as to say the experience would be ruined by VR! Maybe the PSPRO experience would have been different? But my experience on standard PS4 was NOT GOOD.. in fact it was horrible! When I started out the default settings made it unplayable/unenjoyable, the right stick is usually look left/right up/down but because you have the helmet obviously up/down is removed from sticks as you now literally move your head for that but left/right wasn't a smooth pan like in every other game you've ever played it rotated you in increments? Which RUINS the immersion and constantly reminds you that you are in a game and not only that a game that doesn't work? So I went into the setting to change it to something more like the original feel/controls and it was better for a minute or 2 but then I started to feel sick :s it's like sea sickness and being the idiot I am I fought through it and continued to play for another 25mins until I couldn't take anymore.. I removed the helmet and felt sick ALL NIGHT! It never went away? I figured it would pass pretty quickly but it didn't and I still felt a bit odd the next day! :0 another thing that annoyed me was crouch.. when you hit crouch there is at least a second before you actually crouch and when you do it's like your licking the floor? Standing back up was just as troublesome.. Again ruining any immersion which is a shame as RES7 is a great game just not on VR it felt like a SERIOUSLY broken beta at best for me it was horror but for all the wrong reasons :s

Far point is a bit naff to be honest.. I played it with the gun and can see no point without it? Started off alright enjoyed the initial blast about but it's just boring boring boring! Your character is SLOW AS HELL and the game gets lame fast.. the creatures leap at you so obviously if your reloading you just sidestep them so they miss you then instead of biting your **** like they would in REALITY they run past you to get a few metres in front before they attack again? Stupid.. the gun is very cool though shame this game is not :s

thing is, as the camera was available prior to the VR, some folk might argue that Sony would be making them buy the same peripheral again if the camera came with the VR bundle by default (which in turn would bump the price up).
