That and lower overall capacity due to changes in the nand process from 2d ram to 3d ram and some like hynix are increasing their 3d layers to 72... The process takes a while to complete ..

Thanks. I did grab a couple of 500GB SSD's a while back and IIRC they were just over £100 or so, on deals. Since then SSD prices have risen. Presumably the mobile sector demanding a lot of the chips used as well have inflated prices.
