Bought one along with a pack of spare bags in medium and large.
Took a few attempts to get the first end sealed. Then several attempts to get the air sucked out and sealed. It looked like the sealer had done a really good job.... that is until the following morning when I looked at the bag and air had returned to the inside.
Now having your return the whole lot.
Very disappointed. Had high hopes but it didn't deliver.

I found on mine (older version) that I needed to push down the middle to make a good seal. Also I usually sealed it twice, as I rarely got the first seal to fully work. Usually due to a crease or a bit of food in the way admittedly.

You can just use standard freezer bags in these.

Anyone know how long this is on offer for? Couldn't find it on the Lidl website.

Interesting to know how costly the re fills are?
Looks a good purchase but may be expensive if the bags aren't cheap? Any one know?

The rolls they sell are 3m long, you get 2 or 3 for a fiver depending on width. Amazon sell a pack of 100 bags for £13:
Says suitable for sous vide. It also says "We cannot vacuum pack the beauty of your wife but the freshness of foods will be seriously extended!" which I'm a little unsure of. I could vacuum my wife, but its true the beauty may still fade after she turns purple and dies.

Dumb question probably, but does the food have to be cold when you seal it? Could you cook in these bags, like they do with pulled pork etc?

You need BPA free bags to cook food in, sous vide bags are designed for this but only to 99degrees I think?

Missed this and been thinking about one for a while - espceically as we buy in bulk from Costco/Makro and split into manual freezer bags - are the refills easy to obtain?
(heated added and good spot - and I like the engine parts comment too!)

Great things. For stopping freezer burn, freezing in bulk making things last longer. You need air and warmth to grow bacteria, it's easy getting it cold as we all have fridges but you'll need one of these to achieve the other. With less waste you'll recover the cost of this in less than a month!

I've got one and I use it to store stuff in the freezer. Buy in bulk the split into smaller packages. Wouldn't be without it. Heat from me
