Ordered mine 25th April. Been told build week is week commencing 19th June and hopefully delivery 3-4 weeks later. Ordered in white. Old car is falling apart so I'm looking forward to it hopefully arriving without delay!

I ordered mine on lease at the beginning of March with a 12 week lead time, been told it may going into production in week 21 with delivery at the end of June. I believe it's due to a lack of availability the 1.4TSi which has become increasingly popular due to the public's lack of faith in diesels currently.

Pretty sure it's not about the 0-60 time more the better mpg on the cylinder saving engine which happens to be faster and have more bhp.

I have had the 1.6 TDI sports package for over a year. belting car. Wide, comfortable and sturdy. It is a nippy car and pulls hard at 80+. Android auto is a god send too. I drive ahem, faster than the average driver but I still get just over 500miles to a full tank which costs around £50 which is a mixed bag of motorway and city driving.

I much prefer my 1.6TDI Leon to the VW Golf that I had for years. Much lighter just as good drive and handling plus great funkier interiors. I bought second hand from Seat dealer trading my Golf in and will never go back to VW. This is a great deal for a fab car!

Because when you lease you can select extras (Like say an upgraded radio or a tow bar say and in some cases metallic paint, but this is no charge in this instance). You would normally pay for these "Extras". Yes it's a lease but it's yours for the period of the lease. You "enjoy" the use of metallic paint or better radio etc. whilst you lease it.

As normally lease cars it's just whatever colour they have available.
Guzzle
13 May 17#41
Not in mine it isn't.
I've never seen it documented in a PCH agreement, only in a PCP.

Not at the beginning of the term. Only towards the end will you be told if and how much.
Rusty82 to Guzzle

Some lease deals state in the offer/before purchase if there will or won't be an option to purchase.
kiish to Guzzle
12 May 17#38
Well there is nothing stopping you from asking how much to purchase outright once you're in the last 30 days even if there is no option stated, as far as I know some will be happy to give you an offer since it saves them costs on having to collect and sell on.
HotOrNotYouDecide to Guzzle
13 May 17#40
You are usually provided the final purchase price at the beginning of the scheme when you get the contract. It's all documented.
Guzzle
13 May 17#39
I'm not doubting you can sometimes buy the car at the end of the lease. But it would be very odd for the finance company to tell you upfront how much it will be, and then write it into the contract, as that's not how PCH works. You'd effectively have a PCP.

Test drive one last week and spoke to loads of dealers all quoted 12 to 14 weeks and one said October for delivery. They have had some good offers on them thousand off if buying. For is it was no good, the 1.6 diesel was sluggish compared to an older same size engine it was to replace but worse the raid noise in the back was deafening.

Best thing is to add up all the payments and then annualise the total over the period. 3 years will usually work out slightly cheaper overall, but not always.
However as above, you may then need to add on an extra service and a couple of tyres if going for an extra year.
If you're dipping into the options list though, these should work out better with the cost spread over 3 years than 2.

Depends on your mileage expectation.
My Clio has done about 22k in just over 3 yrs and does indeed have 2 new rear tyres, but I'm hoping to get away without replacing the front.
I replaced the brake pads myself ages ago (£25 and an hours easy work), they don't last as long without asbestos in them these days, less than 15k miles.
In that sense 2 years will probably see you through without any parts, 3 probably won't - I hadn't given it that much thought but now you have sown the seed, 2 years might be a cheaper option.
thelatics
12 May 171#12
Well that's less than I'm paying on a PCP for a Renault Clio with much less power and less kit, good deal from me.
Daughter is on a 3+23 deal and my only slight downside to it is 2 years comes around quickly so you are researching a new deal after only 18m to make sure you still have a car!
I think a 3+35 is a better option as warranties still tend to run, and no MOT still.
ALEXJ1993 to thelatics
12 May 17#13
I'm debating between the 2 or 3 year lease, can't decide. I'm thinking if you take it over 3 years, you may have to start replacing tyres, brake pads (maybe) and such, whereas you wouldn't with 2 years. Thoughts?

We have this exact car on PCP and are paying twice the amount a month. It's a great car. I can cruise on the motorway using 2 cylinders and get an indicated 65MPG. Average MPG in the two years/45k miles is in the mid-40s. Radio/Sat Nav have been bob-on for our needs and it's not let us down.
IMHO the styling is better than the bland Golf it's based on (but ours is Lima Green so stands out a bit more)
