I would only use myHermes if I wanted to dispose of a dead body. I'd just post it to myself and it would never be seen again.

Except myHermes has to be one of the worst parcel services, at least in my area. Their insurance will also not cover many things so check before you send any items worth more then a few quid.

I run a small ebay business and have used myhermes via shutl a lot in the last few months. If I had to guess, probably 100 parcels since Feb. Not had a single issue. No missing items, and most delivered in 2 days even when it quotes 3 to 5 days as I check daily what's been delivered.
Feel free to buy an item from me and i'll post it via Hermes to prove it :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed, their service by me is also appalling. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole, no matter how cheap

They put their prices up a few months back, this probably just brings it back to where it was.
Heat added regardless.

Stay away from any Ebay seller who uses Hermes, most unreliable delivery company ever known to man. They are incompetent, lie through their back teeth, total disregard for peoples property and lastly the company do not make themselves accountable by having a complaints/enquires number to contact.
This is from multiple personal experience accounts with this numpty company. Yes, I know the drives get paid peanuts but that does not excuse their attitude and performance either. Google searches for Hermes and MyHermes tells it all!
A most recent case for me is where a driver supposedly left a fragile/valuable parcel in an apparent "secured location on my porch" - the porch is exposed for the world to see and subsequently after arriving home the parcel was no where to be seen. Since then the driver refuses to deliver anything to my address, suggesting i was b_llshitting.

Hermes aren't as bad as they used to be! I've had no issues recently, and for larger/heaver items the saving over RM can be signifiant.
I believe actually contacting them to arrange a re-delivery, or collect a missed delivery is still next to impossible though.

Using Hermes through Parcel Hero has been great for me (so far), £2.63 up to 15kg and £50 insurance

I've been selling quite a lot of items since last October and all bulkier items have been sent through Hermes, not one parcel has been damaged or gone astray! I have no idea why everyone here has a bad comment to say about them, I've have far more issues with the likes of Parcelfarce.
When Parcelfarce lost all the Christmas presents I sent my family down south they did EVERYTHING in their power not to pay up, even saying my sister's address didn't exist (considering she's lived there for 20 years I'd be hard pressed to understand how it wouldn't exist), the parcel turned up three months later and they still wouldn't recompense for all the problems I had.
I now won't use them for any large items.

I am not sure if the service is good enough as it seems they only offer £25 compensation for total loss of the parcel with myhermes and if you get your parcel size weight wrong they will charge you £20+ admin fee.
I have been using myhermes delivery company from the day one they started in this country sending few parcels everymonth and no problem whatsoever. One over one busy chrismass time when parcel was lost i got full compensation and refund very very quickly. I dont understand hiw people have problem with them.

I really dont like the way payment works for ebays shipping service, you dont pay it upfront, they bill you at the end of the month.
Makes things hard to track.

Absolutely, that's why I don't use the service. I'd rather pay for postage, there and then and forget about it.

My account with hermes says that I have sent 90 parcels with them (all ebay sales)...never had a single problem. The only time the delivery was delayed by few days, they refunded me fully

Clicked through to use this the other day but couldn't see how to increase the compensation level using Shutl. Is it possible to do this via shutl as you can on the myhermes site? All postal carriers including RM have delivery problems of one kind or another, Myhermes are no better or worse than others. I have sent a couple of thousand parcels over the past couple of years and have had only around a half dozen problems. Most of the problems I've experienced was down to buyers not providing correct address or failing to mention important detail such as living in a restricted access building etc. Have only had a couple were parcel was said to be 'missing' when they were shown as delivered. Many of the problems are also caused by poor packaging, some of the parcels I see dropped off at my local parcel shop are appallingly wrapped, I often think all couriers would save themselves a lot of hassle by refusing to carry such parcels, I'm sure many must come undone and fall apart even before driver has dropped them off at the depot.

I had a parcel stolen from Myhermes a few weeks ago when I bought something online through a big retailer.
That being said I have just sent 9 parcels and they all arrived at different destinations fine, as long as you add a signature, which is a bit steep at 80p per package you will be fine. I still wouldn't send anything high value. I would leave that up to royal mail.

if you don't use quality packaging and do a terrible job wrapping you deserve your package getting lost. Ive never had a problem with them personally..

you’ve been meaning to sell. Best thing is, you
only pay if they do"

I noticed this Shutl service on my ebay account yesterday when I was printing out delivery labels. Personally I would rather go via MyHermes as you know if anything goes amiss with one of your deliveries they will refund you pretty sharpish - not sure how you would go about doing this with Shutl though??

I have sent over 300 parcels via Hermes using interparcel since Jan 2017. Only lost 1 parcel in that time. I can accept that. I would recommend.
On another note, anything better than interparcel to book Hermes parcels? I am doing over 100 a month and would like to know if their is anything better/cheaper for me.

I always use Hermes for low value items. If item is over £20, I always post with either compensation or signature depending on the value of the item. I have always obtained compensation in the rare occasion the item has either not been delivered or lost in transit. I have made about 10 claims in the last year, posting a couple thousand items.
Just try and obtain compensation from Royal Mail and they will frustrate you asking for everything you can possibly think of not to talk of the time to wait to get your money back.

It's usually 10% for a private seller. I don't sell on ebay till I get an offer of £1 or £2 capped selling fees which comes through at least once every month

Being a ebay seller and use myhermes all the time apart from small items games, dvds etc i have used them myhermes for a few years now and most of the time they are fine i do get odd complaint from a buyer item hasnt arrived yet tracking shows its been left in porch etc but that could be the buyer trying it on in terms of items being damaged ive never had that and for claims i have put in they have always paid up.
