I like the curved screen. After watching mine, even for a short while I find going back to watching my Pansonic flat screen really weird & odd-looking, I just can;t get on with the old shape anymore!!.
The problem is now I can't even look out of my window without feeling queasy, unless I sit in the front room with the bay window :disappointed::disappointed:

Buying a curved screen TV these days is akin to purchasing a HD-DVD player or an Amstrad e-mailer phone.

John Lewis will do a price match on this so you can have their 5 year warranty. They did it for me the last time this offer was on at RGB.

5 year warranty , I do not know of any supplier that would offer 10 years

They will price match codes if the code is listed on the site publicly as it is here. Anyways JL is OOS and this has 5yo warranty anyways and rgb has good enough rep.

Not really. If you like a curved TV that's choice. The tech is the same as a TV so it's not going out of date, it's just the style was a fab and people paid a high price to have it, now it's a reasonable price.

13 May 17#19
This website is riddled with errors. They state 'free 5 years warranty' twice, then try to charge you for it. They clearly don't know the difference between a standard manufacturers warranty & a guarantee which covers accidental damage. Someone needs to make a fuss!
sheppio to mushypeas25
13 May 171#28
Since when does a guarantee cover accidental damage, surely that's insurance you're thinking of. A guarante gives you peice of mind that it'll work as intended for X amount of years. It is not the manufacturer's or seller's fault if you accidentally pull it of its stand and breaks.
TK42 to mushypeas25
13 May 17#29
Website works fine for me on PC and mobile and clearly states Free 5 Year Warranty. The additional warranties offered are to cover accidental damage should you want this. There is no need to add this as you are usually covered for this with your home contents insurance.

curved Tvs are becoming obsolete.less cured models are being made now and specially most of top of the range sets are no longer curved.
it was a short marketing "trend".
Tequila
13 May 17#32
let's say they are no longer the "trend".or like a certain style of clothing.they are "out of fashion" now.so while buying one won't effect their functionality, it might not be the best choice as they are becoming obsolete and in 1-2 years time (if not already!) a reminder of a short era of marketing gimmick.

Richer Sounds priced matched this down to £529 for me (£549 - £20 for the HDMI cable on the RGB deal that Richer don't stock!).. Just placed the order with their Telesales team! He did question that the website on RGB seems to have changed (now appears to be £599 as only £50 voucher), but they stuck to their email from earlier this morning! Cheers OP, absolute steal at £529 for me!!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Only Samsung are creating new curved models, and the only reason they are doing it is so they have some USP. They are worse in every way unless you sit bang dead in the sweet spot, which does not normally happen in most lounges.

if you do a little research, you will realise curved TVs are becoming less and less common.they were the trend 2 years ago, they were just a marketing gimmick to boost falling TV sales of that era, but things changed quickly, people realised curved TVs offer no benefit, just an styling option really, if anything they have awful viewing angles.
with rise of HDR and UHD 4K and also OLED TVs soon the TV sales began to hike again so no real point to trick customers into buying "curved" TV since they suddenly had real reasons to upgrade..hence why less and less curved TVs are being made now.
it's like 3D TV but much more short lived.
understandably some folks who fell for this gimmick become angry and defensive when they read these comments, but it's true. :smirk:
