There has been a price drop on Amazon Italy on the galaxy S8. It's now cheap enough to pay in pounds without having to have a 0% fee credit card so I thought it was worth creating a new deal.
Price in pounds is now only £541.65 (€614.63 at checkout)
Even cheaper if you pay in euros at £521.38 (using 0% few card to Revolut)
Added info:
- This is sold directly from Amazon Italy so the 24 month warranty will be honoured by them.
- Delivery is estimated at 2-4 weeks, however you are not charged the full amount until dispatch.
Update:
Black is now out of stock, however Orchid grey and silver are still available.
My mates s8 from Samsung direct had a purple line down the screen. They insisted on doing a remote support thing, where they connect to his phone. This is despite it clearly being a hardware fault. He had to take half a day off for that.
After that they arranged an exchange, courier never showed up.
Arranged another exchange, courier never showed up.
Multiple long phone calls of which some were cut off he finally gets someone half decent who says yes it can still be collected today (despite the courier having been for something else that day). He asks why he has no tracking or email regarding it, he's placed on hold, 1 minute later the tracking email comes through, it has just been booked for the next day.
Support deny all knowledge and say it was booked a week ago. They like to accuse you of lieing a lot.
10 days later my friend finally has a replacement s8 and no way of getting the literally day of his life back he spent chasing Samsung.
I personally have asked them how much to replace the battery on my s7 and have been cut off 3 times, I can't be bothered with them anymore.

Mine has arrived today. Amazon packaging looks like delivered from a UK depot. it has if undelivered return to Amazon fife. It was delivered with items and packaged identically to other items I had delivered by Amazon today.
No lithium ion battery sticker.
It states for regional lock it should be activated with a European sim (like UK), insert euro sim card to activate phone. Make 5 mins of calls. If a sim card from another region is used the phone may not work and the phone may become locked and need releasing at an samsung service centre.
Inserted my vodaphone sim. It stated it needed to be rebooted in English/UK settings. Which i did took 5 mins and then worked as normal as a new phone or after factory reset would.
I called my house phone for 5 mins and all works fine.
Warranty card states Samsung shall honour all national warranties for the UK, and list uk
It comes with 2 pin plug as expected Adapter and this is fine.
Very nice phone so far and no issues.

I don't think you'll get any arguments for me on build quality - the iPhone is definitely the best phone I've owned in terms of materials and manufacturing. The Z3 also suffered massively from having a screen that would completely stop working even with the smallest crack.
However, I absolutely maintain that Android as more user friendly in terms of access to functions, choice (less locked content), intuitive user interface and even general App stability these days. I've had far more iPhone apps force close on me in recent times than Android ones - but like with your Z3 hardware, maybe I've been unlucky.

I had 3 Sony Z3s that all developed faults. The first overheated and turned itself off regularly. The second had a weird red tinge to the display, and with the third, you could see daylight through one of the 'waterproof' port covers. To suggest that the Z3 is better than an iPhone 7 is ridiculous in my opinion and experience.
I'm by no means loyal to Apple or Android either way as I've had loads of different phones, but iOS is by far the more stable and better quality controlled in my experience.

I thought id give people a little tip... There was a Very discount code (20% off) for any purchases (some exclusions) which expired on the 14th of may ( came in a letter in the post to those who didnt make purchases for a while on their accounts )...Nevertheless, I gave Very a call yesterday and told them that my 20% code expired before I had a chance to buy the phone, at first they said there was nothing they could do but after a 20 minute chat with the lady about South Africa etc, she decided to price match the 20% for me,so it worked out as £550.21(+£3.99 for next day delivery) for the s8, and you can use it on the s8plus too (plus I have 12 months to pay it off)... great offer...

My 2 year old Xperia Z3 is better than my iPhone 7. I'm sure iOS used to be the gold standard of mobile OS, but Android probably surpassed it a few years ago.
"It just works" was the one thing I used to hear about Apple products, yet I have far more problems with my iPhone than I've had with any Android phone over the last 4 or 5 years and the interface is horribly clunky by comparison. I think it's just that people are locked into the ecosystem with Apple and need to justify it to themselves somehow.

To be clear this is Amazon so there isn't a risk of them ripping anyone off. The problem is in the delivery. Amazon Logistics isn't very good for high value items it seems. My first order for this phone actually got 'lost' and I think it was stolen en route. But Amazon are very good with refunding me and believed me. The other issue is that people are receiving the box with the phone not being in the actual Samsung box etc. I think it would be a good idea to either record on your phone, opening the phone beginning with opening the Amazon box in case the Samsung box seal is broken. Or open it infront of the delivery guy although I think the first option is more fool proof.

Their flagship store on Oxford Street actually forgot to repair my phone for more than 30 days. The when I got angry and had a rant at them, 'repaired' it the same day by which I mean they just reset it. Their stores are actually run by CPW and are just Samsung in name so that's why they are so awful.

Samsung support is terrible even when phone is purchased in uk. Im Not sure it would be worth the risk buying from italy. If phone is faulty samsung will require you to give ups delivery driver your mobile along with ur passwords. There's no replacement mobile. repair takes about 10 days but samsung can take up to 2 months for repair. considering we paying over £500 for a mobile phone that kind of support is really bad.

Have to say, having tried both an S8 and an S8+ (which I returned today, that I 100% agree with all your points and am now on the lookout for a cheap S7E.
Miss the front scanner for convenience and the camera shortcut (yes I know the power button does this too but it isn't as easy to find and click quickly, and doesn't seem to launch as fast.
Don't feel like the new Infinity Display adds much in the way of benefits over the S7E display even though it is obviously lovely. I don't think it is any higher quality - at least not discernibly.
The Bixby button is incredibly annoying. I was constantly either catching it when aiming for the volume button or when holding the phone and watching media. There is no obvious way to switch it off.
The camera seems no better.
It doesn't seem any faster.
The more time goes on the more I think the S7 Edge was a great device. I'm sure the S8 will improve in time but with hindsight I wish I had kept my S7E. You live and learn though, and I'm sure those coming from the S5 or the S6 will be more than happy.

You can do this without rooting by restoring the phone in Samsung Smart switch. It will ask for a serial number, enter a serial number of a UK/3/vodafone/ee model and it *should* restore it to that. Worst case it will restore it to Uk and Ireland. If you don't know anyone with one of those models for a serial number just go on ebay and try to find a listing where the serial number is visible

On the uk amazon site it says this about EU import phones,
"System updates are sometimes made available by region, which means that a system update may become available later in the UK than other EU countries. In some cases, software updates may never be made available in the UK.
After a system update, it's possible that the EU Phone will revert to the language of the relevant EU country, even if you've selected English during set up."
Although this is on the uk site, would this apply?

Bought the S8+ black May 2 arrived yesterday 12th as stated by amazon logistics.
Coming from a black S7 edge which I love.
First impressions after 12 hours:
- Screen gorgeous as expected, but too be honest s7 edge is great too. S7 edge and S8+ width is perfect.
- Fingerprint scanner whilst not as bad as the hype, the front one on the s7 edge is way better, you can unlock it before it comes out of your pocket;
- Bixby is just a pain in the backside, adds zero value, what a mess.
- I miss the double tap home button for camera, that was a sick feature! Haptic feedback feels cheap compared to iphone.
- Still lag (or at least not as fast as I like or expect), very similar speed to my S7e on 7.1. Never going to be as fast/smooth as iphone or pixel tho, ive resigned to that fact.
IMO the s8 is too narrow, the s8+ is too big, the s7 edge physical size is just the right balance between, screen ratio for media consumption on the commute and ability to whip out quickly (have it unlocked before it leaves your pocket) for one handed usage where needed.
If only they kept the s7 edge physical body size, infinity displayed/bezelizzed it, never even thought of Bixby BS,
Will either sell it off (better to give someone a discount from RRP then return to amazon italy) and wait for the Note 8 and give the S8 a shot (another 2-4 weeks wait lol), or get my s7 edge repaired (sigh downtime).

Samsung support is hilariously bad.

Heat added. So cheap for a brand new release, can't understand why it's dropped so quickly.

I'm by no means loyal to Apple or Android either way as I've had loads of different phones, but iOS is by far the more stable and better quality controlled in my experience.
no it's not.
Yes. This is a non-issue.
Do these come with a Euro Two Pin Plug charger inside the box as Iv ordered one & was wondering do I need to get a original 3 Pin charger ready ?

shame the black is still more expensive than the others.
their response time and support was awful. paying so much for a premium flagship phpne and that's what you get.
buy only if you must.
I'd wait, not only you will have option of better phones but this one's price will drop dramatically.
very soon..
The only thing that bothers me is having to use itunes, which is a piece of crap. Even on my mackbook pro and air. Total and absolute crap. And I am not "LMAO" about that!

I love my S8+, it's a toss up between this and the note 4 for my best phone ever, and I've owned many iphones too,
Miss the front scanner for convenience and the camera shortcut (yes I know the power button does this too but it isn't as easy to find and click quickly, and doesn't seem to launch as fast.

An alternate is to flash the CSC via Odin, but I don't know where the required file is for that (the h3g CSC)
Is changing the CSC easy to do, or will it drastically change the phone? sorry, dont know much about these things!
update your CSC to the UK network you're using - works for three, I now have WiFi calling, etc.
Thanks.
Coming from a black S7 edge which I love.
First impressions after 12 hours:
- Screen gorgeous as expected, but too be honest s7 edge is great too. S7 edge and S8+ width is perfect.
- Fingerprint scanner whilst not as bad as the hype, the front one on the s7 edge is way better, you can unlock it before it comes out of your pocket;
How could I possibly fix the rate to today's rate as all others do? Using "Revolut“?
When the payment is actually deducted from my card which rate would it be used?
Did I do the whole thing wrong?.... Any input would be greatly appreciated!
