This monitor or a 1440p AOC 27Inch for £205.36 on amazon for gaming? I have an i5 2600k, 16gb ram and a 4gb GTX 970 strix set up? Thanks for any advice!

Was contemplating this for a while as I wanted to replace my dual 144hz TN panels with this. In the end I decided against it and bought a cheaper 75Hz IPS LG. The AOC you are buying is TN so keep in mind that the colours might not be the best. I would go with a 1080p monitor with a 970.

Matter of preference.. you wana play in 1440p then your gtx 970 will cope, but it wont be amazing.. funny im running the same set up, starting to see the gtx970 aint keeping up with games.. until prices come down im gonna recommend this current deal
Can't see why anyone would get this when you can get 28 inch 4k monitors for less than £200.

High refresh is good for competitive shooters but for other games 1440p has its advantages, better for work etc. as well. 970 will handle 1440p just fine at 60Hz, my 290 does. Having said that ideally you would want IPS which I'm not sure you would find at this price. Might be better with 1080p IPS. All depends on what you want really, you don't get it all unless you spend silly money

Because 60 Hz screens suck, and it takes a hell of a GPU to run games at 4K.

Apparently the panel is very good but there are some minor flickering issues when freesync is on.
