i'll just clarify that the '£1 more' is actually £1.77 which is 13% more and closer to £2 if want to round things off
what would be stupid would be paying 13% more for something you dont need
you need it then pay for it
you dont need it then dont pay for it

quality on these is poor at best, I had a 64gb in my phone and I lasted about a year before deciding to stop working and lose all my photos, documents and videos I would rather invest in a cloud storage system now.

It's for my M8 actually and honestly don't know how you've pulled 'wasting hours of your life' out of your ass. If you're averaging 15mb/s write speed it will take just over an hour to fill 64GB, and if you're regularly moving 64GB worth of data on a 13 quid SD card then there's something wrong with you. Hardly educational

I've pre-ordered from Amazon before. Unless the item is no longer made, which is not the case with the Evo+, they will always produce the goods and honour their pre-order price guarantee.
You're silly buying a card that's 2-3 times slower just for the sake of trying to save £1.
pavel76
23 May 17#84
Samsung Evo+ is stil on pre-order status - same as last week... That card was released long time ago, so looks like Amazon have messed up with that listing. There is no confirmation for release date, so pretty much non-existing deal ...

Nah, you've missed the point. Alot of people on here don't understand sdcards and speeds. They think every card is the same or that slow or X seconds load time is the de factor norm (when it isn't), so over the usable life of the card, they're unnecessarily wasting hours of their lives all for the sake of £1 or so. That's dumb beyond belief.

I'm getting fed up with corruption issues on genuine Kingston Class 10 cards (yes, decent official PSUs and not overclocking.)
Anyone have any experience using 16Gb EVO cards in Pi's?
This seems to suggest the EVO cards are pretty reasonable on the Pi's, with much better random write speeds than the Kingstons.
At the moment, I'm frightened to even apt-get update / upgrade on the Pi with the Kingston card!
PS Picard123, don't bother, the UHS standard isn't relevant to Pi's as they aren't compatible with the 1.8V standard.

It's clear from you post that you still don't understand the speed differences between cards and you wrongly think that all U1 cards are the same.
This Evo card you've posted is dog slow. Read speeds are less than half that of similar cards - even the manufacturer admits that. Even doing basic tasks are going to take 2-3 times longer because the read speed is so slow.
Your time may not be valuable but everyone else's is.

Picard123
22 May 17#54
You've simply posted a poor deal. Get over it. It's clear from the other threads that you didn't understand performance differences between different microsd cards. You still seem to be sore as a result. Look at this one - maximum 45MB/s read speeds (compared to 90MB/s for other comparable cards) yet it doesn't sink in.
Picard123
22 May 17#53
You don't need to watch transfer screens. Think about how many times you use your phone every day. Think about what files you're accessing, copying, or have installed on your MicroSD card. A slow card gums up your phone. Apps take longer to load, data takes longer to access, offline maps are slow, games are slower to load, move large files around takes longer.....all that lag seriously adds up to wasted hours and alot of annoyances over the usable life time of the microsd card...all for the sake of trying to save £1. That's just nuts.

Your Aspergers is kicking in again. This Evo card is dog slow. Read speeds top out at 45MB/s, whereas other cards routinely read at 90MB/s. That's hours of your life you're wasting waiting for things to copy because you're not prepared to pay another £1 for a faster card.
