Very good prices at Thomson from Gatwick to Naples £39pp on 2nd June to 9th June.
A bit last min, but there's some for 26th May - 2nd June at £39pp too.
[Update]
Spotted dome more 14 or 7 night flights from 29th May from £39 / £56 / 59 / £70 from various UK Airports too - Image added below
There are some other decent prices a little later, but at £99pp on June 16 - 23rd is totally not £39 though! Still a decent price for return flights if you're looking

You can relax on the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento for lunch. Love the Amalfi coast. Delightful.

They charge more for the return flight because they know as soon as you arrive in Naples you'll pay anything to leave.

That's so true! I have to go to Naples every year once or twice as my husband comes from there and we visit his family. Naples itself is absolutely dire - dirty, full of graffiti and rubbish everywhere. However, outside of Naples, like Sorrento is lovely. And Neopolitan pizza and ice cream is pretty amazing!

Ha - I was there last summer.
You're right, the city itself isn't much to shout about (though lots of history there obviously), but it's great as a base or starting point for Capri, Vesuvius and Amalfi Coast.

Based in Sorrento, we had 2 little kids so we took the Sita bus. While we checked out in Sorrento, the little kids were trying to get lemons from a tree in the garden - Sorrento lemons -. There were workmen in the gardens at the time. Instead of tutting ,disapproving or remonstrating, they downed tools and helped the little kids get at the lemons. How very Italian. We found having little kids opened doors for us. Years later, we are still in love with Italy as a holiday destination.

Went to Naples a few years ago - glad to hear it's still the same - dire, dirty, lots of dog excrement around. Went on an open-top bus tour round the traffic jams of Naples too. I wouldn't go if they paid me to go, but agree the surrounding areas worth the ticket money. Just close your eyes while in Naples (and probably block your nose too). Enjoy.
