Think this is quite good, especially for EE customers. The Black version is still decent at £179.99 all in. The come with 12 month warranty too. No code needed as the discount applies automatically anyway
1. Go with the A5 if you can get it under £300. The S6 had poor battery life on launch, god knows how a used model years old will fare.

I bought an LG G3 6 months back for £89 from Music Magpie. Condition was described as good and in general it was. Everything worked and there were some scratches on the screen. In the end the phone starting playing up and the screen kept fading off to a monochrome screen so I sent it back. Received a full refund yesterday as they didn't have any in stock.
Now need to send the wife's HTC M9 back, as that has software issues with Gmail and the Play store which can only be solved by clearing the cache and the data constantly of both apps. The vibrate function never worked from day one, but she was never that bothered about it (take from that what you will).
All in all it's great that they give you a 12 month guarantee, but you will probably need to claim on it at some point. Although the same could be said for new phones sometimes.

Two questions, if someone can kindly answer them:

S6 and if it's EE locked it should work on Virgin as EE hosts that MVNO. No idea why people are saying no...
S6 should be faster but the A5 (2017) is waterproof which may be useful to you? And the memory card slot. It (the A5) should have much better battery.

The S6 was a stupid phone by Samsung.
They moved away from the good bits the S5 had (water resistance etc).
Now that the S8 is out, if you're upgrading but not keen on the S8 (I don't see it as all that), then go for the S7. Much better than the S6.

I personally, havent had a good first experience ordering from these people.First order cancelled, as apparently I was pipped at the post and someone had ordered the exact same phone as me, at the exact same time. Even tho they had taken my payment. 2nd attempt, it arrived. Impressed with condition, as it was listed as 'good'. But battery is knackered, Barely lasting the day. Awaiting email back from them, as reluctant to buy replacement battery

Also in response to the above, unless you need more than 32GB of storage and have battery deterioration anxiety then the S6 is still a great phone which will be getting Nougat (if it hasn't already). It's got an absolutely fantastic camera - aside from the focus time being slower it takes just as good photos as the S7 IMO.
misterleoni
6 May 17#44
I think there are more advantages to the S7 than that, and you can pay Samsung to replace the battery down the line if it's really that bad - though most battery woes are not to do with deterioration at all, but software cruft and badly coded apps building up over time.
The S7 has better battery life out of the box
Nougat
Faster and smoother
A much nicer, premium build and design that feels gorgeous, rather than chintzy plastic,
Quickcharge 2.0
Far FAR better camera
A two generations newer, sharper screen,
50% more RAM
A better loudspeaker

I carry a Quickcharge battery pack. Far more useful, and offers more recharges. Swapping out batteries is a bit old skool these days and, let's face it, it's time to move on anyway unless you want to carry on using dated phones forever. For better or worse, replaceable batteries are dead.

this one understands, both are good choices, the s6 above is not....
you should go s5 if
a) you are limited on budget
b) you really like the removable battery
you should go s7 if:
c) you want a better phone
d) you dont mind offsetting the lack of a removable battery with a powerbank(and dont mind the eventual death of the battery in many years)
p.s. my s7 was much better before the recent os update, if you have a choice dont update
X50pence777
6 May 17#38
its not that big of an issue, but without it they have lost the best advantage the s4 had, i could keep a spare battery in my wallet ready to switch out when the main one died.....personally i only got the s7 because i was offered a good deal by ee so that i wouldnt leave them....

5 May 17#24

what utter drivel....
with the s6 having no micro sd card slot and no removable battery the s5 is far superior....
the s7(which i own) redeems itself with an sdcard slot and the ability to install apps to the sdcard but would be far better if the battery was removable... as for less battery life. i haven't noticed it...

Recently left the Windows ecosystem and bought a pristine S6 from XSItems on Ebay, excellent handset, great quality, battery not bad, and actually a lot better than I was expecting having read quite a few reviews before buying. Don't really know much about the A5, but the S6 is very quick, especially the camera, also has a great high resolution screen.

Previous magpie employed.they have a dedicated tech section in the warehouse. In terms of the quality you can pretty much make a direct comparison to the likes of mazuma etc. They pretty much just hashed their whole system. Buy cheap refurb test sell. They also have dedicated customer service teams on site during office hours.
Just in case it sheds some light

I don't think this is an especially good price with so many low price alternatives out there.
You can buy a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 for £50 less than this or if you don't want to import go for a Lenovo P2 for £20 more. Both better phones in my opinion and battery life is amazing where this phones is very poor. No sd card expansion either.
I thought the S6 was the poorest Galaxy flagship Samsung ever released.

Having bought 5 phones from them for work, they are good for delivery, good for returns/replacement when one of them suddenly stopped emitting sound but the condition "Good" is pretty poor I'm my view. Expect scratches on the screen especially, no genuine accessories and also don't expect it to be clean; one that we got had what I can only describe as "ear gunk" in the earpiece at the top of the phone, it was pretty grim!
Other than that, MM as a company are great to deal with!
