I've never bought a refurbed product before but my understanding is that it's made to brand-new standard - i.e. it will be cleaned to get rid of dust/ scratches and if something can't be cleaned then that part is replaced?
These are made to be on for thousands of hours throughout their lifetime so I can't see why people say this is a bad deal?

Was gonna bite but it's a little overpriced for second hand. Mind you if it was a 1tb version i think i could have been tempted

Fair enough, I was looking to buy this year as there are just virtually no new 360 releases coming out now. Scorpio will probably be too expensive will just try and get a cheap Xbox One later in the year. Just think it's a missed opportunity for Microsoft to get customers like me to switch over and have the games they've already bought available.

Not sure I'd pay this for a nearly new/2nd hand console, even if there is a warranty, you could get the time machines back out and pick a new one up with minecraft and a 2nd controller for £180ish a few weeks back! (Which I bought) But I am sure with the amazing bargain hunting team that is HotUKDeals there will be a better deal within the next 7 days!!

10 May 17#47
That is tricky, I believe you're right not only will you have to pay full price again, but saves can only be transferred over on supported backwards compatible games it seems :/
I would say hold on to the 360 and then pick up scorpio when theres a good deal on a while after its release, that way you won't be in the same situation you're in with the 360 by buying an xbox one now, and keep the 360 so they're still able to play those existing games. I think its been announced that scorpio will be backwards compatible with xbox one games too, so theres a whole library they'll be able to play as well.

Mugs don't care.

I think that's the problem, most of the games that are backwards compatible are a bit older, the ones he still plays are from the last few years, when there was a corresponding xbox one version available as well. It's frustrating as I'd pay a reduced cost to convert the 360 title to a 'digital' xbox one copy but it's not worth me paying full whack to get the games all over again. I'm assuming as well that if I buy the same title for xbox one that the 360 progress and achievements won't transfer over as well?

Just a general question, is this year the time to upgrade my son's 360 to an xbox one? I haven't so far as there are still been 360 games he likes being released... WWE, Lego, etc. I'm also a bit wary as most of the games he likes on the 360 he'd need to buy again for the xbox one... just double the cost!

Have a look and see if the game's he play's have backwards compatibility, that way you can get the console with no games and he can carry on playing as normal for a while, then any games you buy from now you can pick up on xbox one!

Not bragging, just highlighting how poor this 'deal' is. £165 for a used £199 console without a game is just crazy.

In case it is of any use, I bought a One S last year primarily as a disc player in a dedicated room at home. It was mainly to play 4K UHD Blu-Ray discs to complement my existing Kodi-based media player.
I'm not commenting on the whole Xbox vs PS4 debate, but as a disc player I have been fairly pleased. Microsoft have recently pushed out an update that means it can pass through HD audio to my AV receiver which was the only minor frustration.
The only thing that has been a bit frustrating is lack of HDMI-CEC support.

Worth waiting. Preliminary report that on up-scaling existing games to 4K 60fps, there is at least 30% additional headroom within the CPU. I expect no less than positive reports from sources no doubt influenced by several factors in control of Microsoft. Once it comes out, you'll know for sure and the One S will immediately cheaper. You have everything to gain and not much to lose if you can wait.

E3 starts on the 13th June so not long now. Scorpio does sound like it will be interesting. The big question for me is whether they'll announce any games. I still haven't gotten an Xbox this generation because there has been nothing compelling enough to buy one for.

Bruh irrelevant to the deal posted. We can't go back in time and grab your deal mate. Some people would even say this is better than that but that's another story.
kwl147
10 May 172#35
That's snobbery on another level. Most times it means that the item was bought previously and returned either unopened or opened but not used. A lot of firms take the status very seriously like Dyson and Apple who take apart their products and clean them to a new standard before reselling.

One S everyday. I have a PS4 and I envy Microsoft being able to do online gaming properly unlike Sony. Sony screwed up on the PS4 Pro with no Blu ray 4K drive unlike the One S. If you have a 4K tv this might be important to you like me. Scorpio is round the corner so you can either pick that up or instead wait for it and then get the One S.

Xbox One S does have a 4k blu ray player which the ps4 pro, annoyingly doesn't. Something to consider if you're a film buff.

I don't know much about game resolutions, but I do know the Xbox One S has a 4k UHD Blu Ray player.
As for PS4 I have the launch model, I prefer the games on it. But if it's multi platform games that catch your eye then it should be no problem.

Sorry Buzz the only reason being i have a brand new unopened ps4 slim 1tb from one of your deals. (£183).
