Rory McIlory PGA is easily worth £3.49. Not the most in depth golf game of all time but looks great and plays well.

EA SPORTS™ Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR® £8.99 84% £3.49 94%
Why are there two prices for Rory McIlroy, any ideas? If it's the latter, then £3.49 is a fantastic price. Nowhere near as good a game as Tiger 10 in PS3 days, but still well worth the money (as others above have said).

Futureshark
24 May 17#42
Black Flag is my personal favorite, a lot of people didn't like the boating but I thought it added immensely to the game.
Syndicate is also very good IMHO, the addition of a grappling hook only adds to the fun of zipping around Victorian London. Don't get the season pass though, of the two extra stories the Jack the Ripper is worth punt if cheap but the rest is all dross.
Unity is dull, dull, dull and runs badly unless you have a Pro.

The zoomed-out view of the ship with the distant singing and changing weather conditions was my 1st "wow" moment on the PS4 (way back in December 2013).
Sea battles are a little awkward but not unbearable and I remember getting quite into the management of Kenway's fleet .
I'd love to se a Pro patch for it but it's highly unlikely :disappointed:

24 May 17#49
I think its worth it. The rocket/boost pack as part of the 'air' DLC is worth it alone. It adds a great sense of freedom to the game, and even at its most basic, skimming over the map is just fun. The tank/Mech dlc is also great fun. Not tried the boat one yet, but if you've a few extra quid to spare, it definitely adds to the main game.

One of the best puzzle games ever made. Make sure you read the terminals, they are full of story. And try to "break" / "glitch" / get to places you dont think you should be able to get to. The devs thought of everything.

To all the fellow local co-op lovers, I'd recommend borderlands, broforce, and rayman legends.
Also, for £2.49 I'd recommend most to take a punt on Hotline Miami - its not for everyone, given the difficulty and the controls requiring quick reactions but its a really cool game and one of my all time favourite soundtracks.

The PS3 architecture is very different from the PS4. For one it had a custom in house cpu which I imagine would be very difficult and costly to make backwards compatible.

I would like to buy this but for me it says not available. I assume because I already have the first one via PS Plus. Annoying!
parasitemol
24 May 171#60
I think what he is saying is IF it is available via PSNow and we already own the game on PS3 digitally we should be able to play it on PSNow instead of having to rent it/purchase it again. Your points are very valid for the difficulty of making something backwards compatible in general but if it's already playable on PS4 via PSNow, why do we have to pay a second time?
jamie19916
24 May 172#61
Each game runs on a ps3 on a server; if they let everyone who ever bought a digital game on ps now they probably wouldn't be able to cope with the demand; and there would be no money in it.
They can't do backwards compatibility properly as the ps3 architecture is too complicated to emulate; unlike the 360 which was closer to today's consoles.

It is, but you can try the trial and play until character level 30 for free. Just go to it's page on psn and go down, you'll find the trial there (a bit hidden).

Heh, slightly ironic, as the original was withdrawn or developers sued or something back in late 80s for being too like Mario. Still have the C64 cassette somewhere...
Would never have seen this in the list, as just scrolling through the comments, so thanks for posting.

no need to be an apologist for Sony, there are many approaches they could take they just don't want to. for example a gold level ps+ that was maybe an extra £10 a year to fund the infrastructure or even just let me stream my PS3 to my ps4. They are in different rooms and it would be a great benefit for me.

Question on Infamous second son,
I've been eyeing it for years now, but I'm just wondering is it worth buying it with such a huge, huge backlog to get through?
Would you say it's a must play, or a great game that won't take that long to get through?
I'm a uni student so money is scarce!

When does this expire? Don't have a PS3 controller (brother left it round his friend's) but I could be interested in ICO/Shadow of the Colossus, heard so many good things down through the years but never got around to getting it on ps2 or ps3. Or I should be getting a PS4 for the first time at the weekend, would they be on there?

I played it several years ago and have recently re-bought it for the Pro.
When I 1st played it, I did really enjoy it but the gameplay can get a little repetitive. It's an easy Platinum if such things bother you. Coming back to it a few years later, it still looks and plays well but I'm going to have to delete my saves to give me any reason to play it beyond "wreaking havoc".
The story is fairly weak but the game world is nice & large. Having a range of powers does open the game up a bit beyond it's predecessors but you'll find yourself sticking with neon, once you get it.
If you have PS Plus, you're getting a good chunk of gameplay for £6.74, if not, it can be found for less than £12 2nd hand.
Ultimately, you should be playing your backlog and not looking at new games until they're played :man:
(says the guy with about 40 games to play though :stuck_out_tongue:)

I don't know what it was but it just felt that something was missing, it felt like "uncharted by the numbers with added gimmicks" may be cause it was only overseen by Naughty Dog and not developed... or that could be psychosomatic.

Might be of interest, Pes 2017 is free to download on Google and Apple stores now...
Thank you. I really appreciate the detailed feedback.
I actually played the first light standalone dlc when it came on ps plus for free, and although it was a blast, I already started feeling the repetitiveness of the combat even though I did enjoy the fairly short story on that.
I get the impression that the base game is more of the same, and a fun open world to invest your time into, and at £6ish it's definitely a steal for someone who really wants to play it. But it doesn't seem like a must play so I think I'll skip over this one until it inevitably gets released alongside Knack in next month's ps plus offerings:stuck_out_tongue:
Man I think I have a disease of collecting games but never playing them. Smh. Maybe today is the day I'll finally start on the backlog rather than just sit there feeling content with staring at it.

Picked up a PS4 a few weeks ago to compliment my XBO. Got a few deals in the US sale the other week and MGS5 last week. One thing that is very apparent with every PSN sale I've checked out is the amount of games listed that are next to nothing on XB via EA Access.
PS owners really missing out due to Sony's stubbornness around the idea. That said, I have a load of the EAA games installed on my XB HDD but have never played the majority.

Thanks for the head up on these deals, I keep missing gravity rush on ps4. Maybe now I can stop kicking myself for selling my physical copy before getting round to playing it!
It looks great and plays well too but there's less focus on the narrative than it's big console counterparts.
It was £5.79 in March and £4.99 (PS Plus) in November FYI.
I personally prefer The Golf Club (despite it's many shortfalls) but you really can't snub this at the price.
Syndicate isn't bad tbh (you're not forced to play any tedious Abstergo sequences) but the protagonists don't have much going for them.
Why are there two prices for Rory McIlroy, any ideas? If it's the latter, then £3.49 is a fantastic price. Nowhere near as good a game as Tiger 10 in PS3 days, but still well worth the money (as others above have said).
I bought it for a couple of peanuts (CDKeys) on XB1 but the tedious load times put me off and I sold the console before I could bring myself to play it. :stuck_out_tongue:
Syndicate is also very good IMHO, the addition of a grappling hook only adds to the fun of zipping around Victorian London. Don't get the season pass though, of the two extra stories the Jack the Ripper is worth punt if cheap but the rest is all dross.
Unity is dull, dull, dull and runs badly unless you have a Pro.
Sea battles are a little awkward but not unbearable and I remember getting quite into the management of Kenway's fleet .
I'd love to se a Pro patch for it but it's highly unlikely :disappointed:
bonus!
Amazing game!
Well worth £4
Also, for £2.49 I'd recommend most to take a punt on Hotline Miami - its not for everyone, given the difficulty and the controls requiring quick reactions but its a really cool game and one of my all time favourite soundtracks.
They can't do backwards compatibility properly as the ps3 architecture is too complicated to emulate; unlike the 360 which was closer to today's consoles.
far from being a hot deal based on these prices.
it's ridiculous how certain games still resisting price drop.
have seen much better PSN sales.

Would probably lose that amount buying physical and then re-selling with fees, packaging and postage.
Would never have seen this in the list, as just scrolling through the comments, so thanks for posting.
I've been eyeing it for years now, but I'm just wondering is it worth buying it with such a huge, huge backlog to get through?
Would you say it's a must play, or a great game that won't take that long to get through?

The story is fairly weak but the game world is nice & large. Having a range of powers does open the game up a bit beyond it's predecessors but you'll find yourself sticking with neon, once you get it.
If you have PS Plus, you're getting a good chunk of gameplay for £6.74, if not, it can be found for less than £12 2nd hand.
Ultimately, you should be playing your backlog and not looking at new games until they're played :man:
(says the guy with about 40 games to play though :stuck_out_tongue:)

PS owners really missing out due to Sony's stubbornness around the idea. That said, I have a load of the EAA games installed on my XB HDD but have never played the majority.
