I'm trying to trap the birds that come into my garden, what's the best way to rig one of these up so that once they enter they can't leave?

Is the business model of Poundland and Poundworld sustainable? Inevitably prices will rise and more and more goods will cost more than £1 unfortunately.

Yes, we used to have a 50p shop which is no more!

I'd put it down to incompetence rather than a deliberate ploy to fleece unsuspecting customers. After all, there must be a few like me who now leave stuff on the shelf if there is any doubt at all about whether something on a Poundland shelf is £1 or not, and those who realise they've been fleeced surely think twice about how much they pick up on subsequent visits?

They should sticker their expensive items clearly.
They are probably trying to con people as you mentioned. People probably on average buy between 5-10 items per trip, so sneek in an extra £1 per customer and work out how many customers they have over the year...hey presto! Extra profits!!

Are you sure they are £1 ? - The world has gone mad, I went into Poundland the weekend and took some razors off the shelf only to find they were £2 ! - swapped for some different razors and they were £2 as well ! ...... I know they sell some more expensive items in a certain area but seems they are putting more expensive items on the shelves/rack now as well and not pricing them at more than a pound. If you were sceptical you could think they were hoping people didn't notice !!
