Edit: Now £109.99 so deal has expired.
I won't expire this deal in light of the more recent Very discount code deal posted by 'derp1664' which reduces the cost of this 4TB Seagate hard drive down to £83.98. Some may have reasons to prefer Amazon's after sales or have discount codes that they can apply to their purchase. Also the process of buying from Very might not suit all, I found it a bit convoluted myself, I had to create a new account but will admit I have now bought this drive from Very.
I hope they have the stock and honour the order, I have never used Very before and am happy to use Paypal to pay with discount applied outright. If all goes well it is the better deal.
'Original wording of post before adding info. of cheaper Very deal'
An immense amount of storage in a portable 2.5 inch hard drive and comes with free delivery.
A few years ago I would have questioned why anyone would want so much storage space but I find myself appreciating that this has come down in price by £10.00 today, it is near it's lowest price point and also has the convenience of not needing it's own power supply.
XB1 & PS4 compatible.

Thought that's be the case, thanks. A few forums said they're 10mm thick instead of 9mm

Does anyone actually know if these can be put in a ps4/pro? I know the 2TB model can, but will the 4TB fit?

Not sure but I would guess not, the 4TB is thicker than the 2TB external drive I had that I removed from the caddy and put in a PS4.

You would only pay a huge interest rate if you did not pay it off in full which most going for this probably will if they have any sense

Should be compatible with XB1 and PS4. Just bought a recertification WD 2TB for 50 quid. Would have got this.

Never used Very. creating an account forced me into a credit scheme of some sort with a £600 credit. I'm sure this is common knowledge for most but i was simply after a one-time purchase. Didn't go through with it in the end because code did not apply for me either :disappointed:
Thanks for trying though.

Surely not - it can still be paid off quite easily with a card immediately after purchase, so there are no charges. Just a £30 discount.

Am I right in thinking if you set up a new credit account and add the code LCFQN you'll get £30 off even when taken with the take 3 option?

Yes, but you'll pay a huge interest rate.

That is a standard USB3 Micro-B USB connector - that's the correct connector for this type of drive and I've not seen a USB3 hard drive without one.

I've experienced the falling out issue too, and it was down to the cables. Buying some higher quality ones solved it right away.
The quicker USB-C takes over the better though!

Thank you for this - just saved me over £90 as I bought 4 earlier in the week at £122.94 each. Amazon wouldnt price match the difference so I had to get them to allow me to return the drives for free, then reorder at the cheaper price.

That is a pity then in my opinion. I find the standard one is finicky to connect and easily fails out if moved. The 'non-standard' connection that is on my other caddy is far easier to connect and never fails out if I move the caddy around my desk.

20 May 171#38
The top one is standard. The bottom one isn't standard for connecting the caddy to a pc, it's meant to be a host socket.
iand123
20 May 17#37
Ok if that's what its called that's fine but it is a rubbish format of a socket. I have another caddy that has a socket on it that is the same socket as what you get on every pc and the usb cable going into that connects far better. The cable supplied with it has the same type of connection on each end. I know which I prefer. https://ibb.co/kJ53TF

can this drive be removed from it's enclosure? or is it fused?
in case of usb connection damage. so the data can be copied by inserting it into a pc. or is it fused?

I removed the drive from the 2gb version to put in my ps4. I did this before the ps4 update that allows usb plugged-in drives. It is just a standard drive inside.

20 May 17#33
Hi John, I have the 2gb version of this and that does not have a standard usb socket (the socket on it looks like a squashed figure 8.) Have a look at the end view photo of the 4gb drive on Amazon to see what I mean.

So you don't want to store data from a pc?
Do you want to link it up to a tv for recording? I think a lot of tv's have problem with drives > 2tb.
Do you want to link it up to a tablet? It will need a powered hub.
What other use for it?

Cheaper from Very, £99 with £20 off using code LAMJA at checkout
LAMJA not valid on my existing Very account either.
such a shame flubit no longer work the way it used to, used to be able to knock a few more quids off HDDs, now the prices flubit comes back with are quite a bit higher than the deal price!

A shame these seagate drives have that awful connector on the drive end of the cable. Such a shame they didn't think to use a standard usb socket on the drive.
Johnmcl7 to iand123
20 May 172#25
It is a standard USB socket on the drive, it's a high speed USB3 micro b connector which can take a USB2 micro cable for compatibility and it's the same connector other USB3 hard drives use.
