You can link your console account and your Battlenet account, but the only things that are shared between the linked accounts are the Nexus items, ie the Officer D.Va and Oni Genji skins, and the sprays and icons that came with them.

Can anyone clarify differences between standard, origins and GOTY editions. Which should be bought?
blaze to zakkyb
23 May 171#10
Origins edition has a few extra skins but that edition is being replaced by the GOTY edition which includes those skins, plus 10 loot boxes. The extra skins aren't really worth it unless cosmetics is what you're buying into rather than the game itself.

Well, it's hard to describe. But today I was feeling really tired at work, so I made myself a hot drink, walked around for a few minutes after which not only did I feel better but I also managed to waste 5 minutes of my otherwise mundane day. Tomorrow, hopefully I'll feel more energised.
K0YS to darksideby182
23 May 171#19
completely different.
the main competitive mode of the game relies heavily on team work, it is not a run and gun/team death match game. characters are grouped as healers, tanks, dps and support, your team usually needs a balance. it best to get used to at least one character from each group so you can balance with the team you get grouped with.
there are other game modes, but they are very casual and a lot of people use them as a training ground to get used to different characters. don't go in to competitive mode to mess about, you'll get abused, blocked and reported lol.

If you're bored of BF1 because it's not complex or demanding enough, have a look at Rising Storm 2 for a more tactical, tense and demanding game with upto 64 players. If you like the idea of a 5 v 5 game then Rainbow 6 Siege is excellent. My gaming group stopped playing BF1 some months ago, and R6S has become our favourite game, but it is best played with friends. Overwatch is good too, but the total lack of map destruction and emphasis on charging and timing the use of your ultimate ability wasn't really our cup of tea.

Ive played this on ps4 , reached a fairly high level , BUT using a controller , Is a big disadvantage to use a controller on the PC version ???????????? tempted , so I can play in 4k
jsty3105 to Just.Wondering
23 May 17#36
At the same skill level, a mouse player will always be faster than a controller player and so carry a speed/reaction advantage. But unless you're playing competitively you'd probably be just fine.
sweeten16 to Just.Wondering
23 May 17#38
Aim assist is disabled in the pc version if you use a controller so it would be a lot more difficult.
lomax to Just.Wondering
23 May 17#41
You will probably rank lower than you are used to if you use a controller on PC. The playerbase is massive though so after enough matches you'll just get matched against people of a similar skill with mouse and keyboard that you have with a controller.
All maps, Heroes, PVE events etc are always free. You can spend money on cosmetics if you are so inclined.

23 May 17#43
Well I own on pc and PS4. My rank on pc in competitive is 2800 and 2700 on PS4. So I'm placed in platinum rank for both.
I use a controller on pc also. To be honest, you'll be fine with controller even on pc. The skill level is higher on pc in general but I'm doing just fine on pc with my controller noobness.

Is this game too competitive to get in to on PC at the moment? Use to play this game on PS4 when it came out, but just in general faded away from console, have a very decent PC now and tend to game on PC a lot more with MP games.. just afraid that I am going to get shattered on this game due to how competitive people actually are on this game now..

Match making is skill based; so you should in theory be placed with players around your skill.

23 May 17#44
I disable aim assist on the PS4 version. Feels like cheating. My aim is decent even when playing the PC version because I use analogue stick extenders on the pad for more precision. I know mouse and keyboard is superior overall but I just prefer a pad for comfort reasons.

I don't rate this game at all; maybe I've had bad playing experiences of it but the lows far outweigh the highs.
It's a team game; but because people are constantly chasing their own personal stats, most games will result in people leaving the losing side well before the map/game is over. Makes victories feel hollow; and if it happens to be your team they leave, comebacks nearly impossible.
Then there are ranked games, where your personal rank will be affected by the random people you get matched with. You really don't want people on your team to leave just because they think the team is going to lose. When they do, it's your rank that gets trashed.
Then OFC.. you still have the problem of multiple people picking the same class on the team because they always play a sniper, etc. Wrecking team balance. Finally there were a limited number of maps, not sure now, haven't played it for many months, don't even have it installed anymore.
It's an average team based shooter with a lot of Blizzard polish on top; upon saying that; a lot of people love it. I understand why, when you do get that comeback game, beating all odds, the feeling is amazing. It can also be a lot of fun to play when players stick around.
£17 thou' I guess it's worth getting if your curious

For some reason there is next to no solid information on the internet. I found one thread with only one post where a guy said he bought it for the pc version, and when he logged into his xbox one he said he had the option to install it on his xbox.
It's for PC only, the guy posted that on the 9th September which a quick search seems to suggest that was a free weekend.

honestly after a couple of hours playing i fail to see what the fuss is about - it's a very good arena shooter with a lot of character but both lives and matches are over quickly and often with little you can do about either, and there seems to be no progression but leaderboards. granted i'm new and stuff like team comps and counterpicks/switches are more advanced but i'll stick with HOTS. glad i waited for free weekend.

You need to play it with friends or a group of people you trust and can communicate with a headset. Easier to get hooked that way as you blast other teams with coordinated moves for win streaks.

Though this seems like a good deal I didn't buy it in the end. I prefer some additional progression in a game besides from just "getting better".
Literally zero progression effort from game development side so basically all they've done is make a pretty slick rock, paper, scissors game. For me, this is not enough to call it a great game for nowadays standard (imo).
Then again, CS:Go seems to be popular still and that's zero progression with less dynamics so I guess I can't complain too much.
