I’ve purchased this, can someone who owns this comment on the alarm feature? Mines when I tested it, vibrates for 3-4 seconds. And goes off, and does not come on again. Although I have the feature enabled for sleep mode every 10 minutes unless I long press it. I had tried with both one and off, in regards to the snooze setting. Still with little to no good results. I have also tried it on another iPHone of mines, a IPhone 7 Plus and IPhone 7, still encountering the same issue. Thinking isit the actual product causing an issue or just with the compatibility for IPhone.

Customs will be charged on declared value - bigger parcels in my experience are more likely to be stopped. Many retailers fraudulently declare a low value on the declaration - you'd expect customs to be more likely to investigate a large parcel with a low value than a smaller one. At the end of the day it's hit and miss though - I've heard of things stopped at 30p over the value and stung accordingly and other things go through at much higher declared prices.
What postal / courier method used will also greatly affect the chances too.
sumpter
7y 43d#185
With regards customs, will buying 2 or 3 of these affect the chances of getting stopped and would the customs charge simply be a percentage of the value? Cheers!

A black wristband comes with the device but you can buy other colours and swap them. I ordered white but after not too long it is looking a bit grey and mucky looking. A shame as my old pebble watch had identical looking rubber and it was pristine all its life. Not worth buying extra strap imo but it's otherwise a great value device. I never take it off for showers and going in swimming pool by the way, although NB I am a paddler abouter not an actual swimmer.

I hoped it would be useful for my swim but alas no - unless I got it wrong - 35 minutes in the pool amounted to about 30 steps. PaulG1970
7y 44d#54
I believe it does not count anything under 10 steps to cut down on actions that are not walking. Also the distance is way out there is no way to calibrate stride length, even if I put in I am a foot taller the km is very low.
Heart rate sometimes a bit hit and miss it can change drastically between 2 readings, also not good if exercising as arm should be still. It does not seem very good at high BPM compared to the machines at my gym.
Battery life is excellent.
Dealmessiah
7y 44d1#53
Absolutely brilliant device. Battery is amazing. I'm currently on 68% after 18 days. No problems with translation etc. Everything is working fine, just be aware of their quite strict security on devices pairing (i.e. if you cannot get to your mii account, then you can't use with the official app. You can with 3rd party apps though.)
shakerstevens
7y 44d#52
And to add to this if you have an iPhone it also hooks into the Apple Health app for steps, heart rate, sleep patterns, although doesn't as yet carry over the km distance covered from walking etc into Apple Health. App and watch updated every month or so, so more features will be added as they have already.
shakerstevens
7y 44d#51
Both. I have mine just for workouts (well the running mode on the app) and when in that mode via the app its checking very frequently, possible constantly, and I have it turned off for all other occasions, helps save battery life, which is excellent anyway so no worries if you have it on both.

Girlfriend has one of the new fit bits, tried then both on each wrist. Mi band always comes out less.
Tried on treadmill too, fit bit virtually the same and the mi band was a mile behind on a 4 mile treadmill session. Defo doesn't track well on a treadmill.
It also doesn't pick up small movements I. E. Walking to answer the front door, I'll sit back down and it will be alerting me that I havnt moved in an hour.. When I have!

not sure what you are comparing it too, but i have one and a fitbit blaze and less then 50steps difference over the day - kinda about as acurate as you need really. Sleep monitors really good too. Would say the heart rate readings are bit hit and miss mind if wanted for this purpose. where it outshines the fbit is battery life....2weeks, if paired to phone for alerts etc, 3weeks if that was all turned off. Yes it can if you turn on the app as doing exercise. Either the default app on android or others such as "notify and fitness for mi band" which is worth the £1 or so to buy.

it doesn't do everything...and you're limited to the functions available to the app which has come a long way since its introduction.
For the money it's great.
I love the notification vibration - when my phone is switched silent I even turn off the buzzer now since this thing will notify me.
Setting alarms via the band is nice as well - more convenient than the phone as well as not waking up others in the morning
it also does constant heart rate monitoring when jogging - this was added not too long ago - pretty sure it's not as accurate as the chest strap ones though
Just don't enable the constant heart-rate monitor in it, drains the battery too quickly.

What is the battery like on these?
Also can it be used to count lengths in the swimming pool?

Excellent band. I recently bought it for about £18. I like the text/phone notifications too. Very good value for money if you don't care about labels!

I've just tried it and your right it goes up in price and say the code is invalid. I think they are worth £17.50 so if you want one I would still buy it. Takes about 2 weeks to deliver

It hooks into the main google fit app too, although the main Mi-Fit app is ok to be honest. Much better than the dodgy apps that a lot of chinese products have!
Not really, your hands aren't moving much when you are gripping the bars so it doesn't really trigger the accelerometer, same way the pedometer doesn't track well if you are pushing a pram/trolley etc
I just wish there was a "nicer" band for it.

Any issues with any translation? Can you just use your own fitness app with this?

Gearbest has also had the Xiaomi Air Purifier on offer very offten over the past few weeks - it's currently the cheapest I've seen at £111.38 with no import duty costs. Their declared customs value from when I bought mine was for £10 - very dodgy. Delivered by Yodel within 7-10 days.

It was this or the lenovo hw01, prefer the smaller design of this and you can change the band if you want.
I learned the hard way
The shipment suggests it coming from within UK with a tracking number from Yodel but not clear if Yodel have even received it yet
Cheers
Also, how do people get the alarm and sleep monitoring set up? My instructions came in Chinese and I can't find an English version
quote=Shovon]I read you don't have to have bluetooth on in order for it to count steps. Bluetooth is only for call notification and when you want it to connect to the app.[/quote]
Does it work with Strava?
Where else would you wear it to get the heart rate function working then?
Gearbest checkout is broken on all browsers, just returns to previous page on trying to place the order. Cheapest was £15.11 with 80p registered customer discount.

Happy customer other than the ridiculously long time it took to turn up, over 2 months. Postmarked Malaysia.
Yes, it's not "all-singing all-dancing" but for the money what on earth would be?
Yes otherwise, cannot remember if it stores 2 weeks or 4 weeks of memory - it is limited, but can work without a phone for a couple of weeks, would not be smart watch otherwise
You get English from the UK play app store, go to the app store of a different country if you want another language or side load it

It will not count lengths in the pool.
So £14.99 delivered. Just shy of £1 cheaper than deal posted.
Heart rate sometimes a bit hit and miss it can change drastically between 2 readings, also not good if exercising as arm should be still. It does not seem very good at high BPM compared to the machines at my gym.
Battery life is excellent.
If you are looking for something serious I'd give it a miss. Good value for money though for what it is

Not really, your hands aren't moving much when you are gripping the bars so it doesn't really trigger the accelerometer, same way the pedometer doesn't track well if you are pushing a pram/trolley etc
